A Geometrically Exact Triangular Shell Element Based on Reproducing Kernel DMS-Splines

    Hanjiang Chang1,2,*, Qiang Tian1, Haiyan Hu1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 825-860, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.022774

Abstract To model a multibody system composed of shell components, a geometrically exact Kirchhoff-Love triangular shell element is proposed. The middle surface of the shell element is described by using the DMS-splines, which can exactly represent arbitrary topology piecewise polynomial triangular surfaces. The proposed shell element employs only nodal displacement and can automatically maintain C1 continuity properties at the element boundaries. A reproducing DMS-spline kernel skill is also introduced to improve computation stability and accuracy. The proposed triangular shell element based on reproducing kernel DMS-splines can achieve an almost optimal convergent rate. Finally, the proposed shell element is validated via three… More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract In today’s society with advanced Internet, the amount of information increases dramatically with each passing day, which leads to increasingly complex processes of open-source intelligence. Therefore, it is more important to rationalize the operation mode and improve the operation efficiency of open-source intelligence under the premise of satisfying users’ needs. This paper focuses on the simulation study of the process system of opensource intelligence from the user’s perspective. First, the basic concept and development status of open-source intelligence are introduced in details. Second, six existing intelligence operation process models are summarized and their advantages and disadvantages are compared in focus.… More >

Research on Ratio of New Energy Vehicles to Charging Piles in China

    Zhiqiu Yu*, Shuo-Yan Chou

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.42, No.3, pp. 963-984, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.023129

Abstract With the widespread of new energy vehicles, charging piles have also been continuously installed and constructed. In order to make the number of piles meet the needs of the development of new energy vehicles, this study aims to apply the method of system dynamics and combined with the grey prediction theory to determine the parameters as well as to simulate and analyze the ratio of vehicles to chargers. Through scenario analysis, it is predicted that by 2030, this ratio will gradually decrease from 1.79 to 1. In order to achieve this ratio as 1:1, it is necessary to speed up… More >

System Dynamics Forecasting on Taiwan Power Supply Chain

    Zhiqiu Yu1,*, Shuo-Yan Chou1, Phan Nguyen Ky Phuc2, Tiffany Hui-Kuang Yu3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.3, pp. 1191-1205, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.021239

Abstract This research aims to study the sustainability of Taiwan power supply chain based on system dynamics forecasting. The paper tries to investigate electricity shortage effects not only on the industrial side, but also from the standpoint of society. In our model, different forecasting methods such as linear regression, time series analysis, and gray forecasting are also considered to predict the parameters. Further tests such as the structure, dimension, historical fit, and sensitivity of the model are also conducted in this paper. Through analysis forecasting result, we believe that the demand for electricity in Taiwan will continue to increase to a… More >

    Weijin Jiang1, 2, 3, Yang Wang1,*, Yirong Jiang4,*, Yuhui Xu1, Jiahui Chen1, Lina Tan1, Guo Liang5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.1, pp. 123-136, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.05933

Abstract In mobile cloud computing, trust is a very important parameter in mobile cloud computing security because data storage and data processing are performed remotely in the cloud. Aiming at the security and trust management of mobile agent system in mobile cloud computing environment, the Human Trust Mechanism (HTM) is used to study the subjective trust formation, trust propagation and trust evolution law, and the subjective trust dynamic management algorithm (MASTM) is proposed. Based on the interaction experience between the mobile agent and the execution host and the third-party recommendation information to collect the basic trust data, the public trust host… More >

Effects of precipitation changes on the dynamics of sparse elm woodland in Northeastern China

    Yi TANG1,*, Carlos Alberto BUSSO2

    BIOCELL, Vol.42, No.2, pp. 61-66, 2018, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2018.07015

Abstract Elm (Ulmus pumila L.) is the dominant tree species in the sparse elm woodland, the original vegetation in the Horqin Sandy Land. The effects of changes in precipitation on U. pumila trees have not been fully studied. We determined a dynamic model by considering the five stages in the U. pumila life cycle, i.e. seed, seedling, and juvenile, mature and over-mature tree stages. The effects of changes in precipitation on population density and age structure were then evaluated. Population density, after averaging all study developmental morphology stages, ranged from 16.67 individuals/m2 to 25.01 individuals/m2 under a mean annual precipitation (MAP)… More >

    S. Taschini1, J. Müller2, A. Greiner2, M. Emmenegger1, H. Baltes1, J.G. Korvink2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.1, No.1, pp. 31-44, 2000, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2000.001.031

Abstract We present three techniques to accurately model the thermomechanical response of microsystem components: a new, accurate and stable Kirchhoff-Love multi-layered plate model implemented as an Argyris finite element, a model for the amplitude fluctuations of vibrational modes in micro-mechanical structures within a gaseous environment, and the consistent refinement of a finite element mesh in order to maximize the computational accuracy for a given mesh size. We have implemented these techniques in our in-house MEMS finite element program and accompanying Monte Carlo simulator. We demonstrate our approach to dynamic modeling by computing the thermomechanical response of a CMOS AFM beam. More >
