A Data-Driven Systematic Review of the Metaverse in Transportation: Current Research, Computational Modeling, and Future Trends

    Cecilia Castro1, Victor Leiva2,*, Franco Basso2,3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.144, No.2, pp. 1481-1543, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.067992 - 31 August 2025

Abstract Metaverse technologies are increasingly promoted as game-changers in transport planning, connected-autonomous mobility, and immersive traveler services. However, the field lacks a systematic review of what has been achieved, where critical technical gaps remain, and where future deployments should be integrated. Using a transparent protocol-driven screening process, we reviewed 1589 records and retained 101 peer-reviewed journal and conference articles (2021–2025) that explicitly frame their contributions within a transport-oriented metaverse. Our review reveals a predominantly exploratory evidence base. Among the 101 studies reviewed, 17 (16.8%) apply fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making, 36 (35.6%) feature digital-twin visualizations or simulation-based testbeds,… More > Graphic Abstract

Imene Tatar Caliskan1,2, George Dzorgbenya Ametefe3, Aziz Caliskan4, Su-Ee Lau1,5, Yvonne Jing Mei Liew6, Nur Kusaira Khairul Ikram5, Boon Chin Tan1,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.94, No.8, pp. 2229-2254, 2025, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2025.067225 - 29 August 2025

Abstract Myeloblastosis (MYB) transcription factors (TFs) are evolutionarily conserved regulatory proteins that are crucial for plant growth, development, secondary metabolism, and stress adaptation. Recent studies have highlighted their crucial role in coordinating growth–defense trade-offs through transcriptional regulation of key biosynthetic and stress-response genes. Despite extensive functional characterization in model plants such as Arabidopsis thaliana, systematically evaluating the broader functional landscape of MYB TFs across diverse species and contexts remains necessary. This systematic review integrates results from 24 peer-reviewed studies sourced from Scopus and Web of Science, focusing on the functional diversity of MYB TFs, particularly in relation… More >

Investigating Higher Education Teachers’ Well-Being and Its Influencing Multiple Factors: A Systematic Review Approach

    Jian Li1,*, Yunshu He2, Yahao Wang1, Eryong Xue2,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.27, No.7, pp. 901-928, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2025.066538 - 31 July 2025

Abstract Background: Teachers from higher education commonly face substantial workloads, resulting in heightened stress and reduced well-being. This has spurred significant academic interest in the determinants of faculty well-being within higher education. Consequently, numerous studies have focused on both understanding these influencing factors and developing strategies to bolster teacher well-being, an area that has gained considerable traction as a research focus. Although systematic reviews have been conducted to elucidate the connections between well-being and particular attributes like emotional regulation, efficacy, and competency, there remains a paucity of reviews that holistically examine the multifaceted factors affecting the… More >

Towards Secure APIs: A Survey on RESTful API Vulnerability Detection

    Fatima Tanveer1, Faisal Iradat1,*, Waseem Iqbal2,*, Awais Ahmad3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.84, No.3, pp. 4223-4257, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.067536 - 30 July 2025

Abstract RESTful APIs have been adopted as the standard way of developing web services, allowing for smooth communication between clients and servers. Their simplicity, scalability, and compatibility have made them crucial to modern web environments. However, the increased adoption of RESTful APIs has simultaneously exposed these interfaces to significant security threats that jeopardize the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of web services. This survey focuses exclusively on RESTful APIs, providing an in-depth perspective distinct from studies addressing other API types such as GraphQL or SOAP. We highlight concrete threats—such as injection attacks and insecure direct object references… More >

Ethical Implications of AI-Driven Ethical Hacking: A Systematic Review and Governance Framework

Hossana Maghiri Sufficient*, Abdulazeez Murtala Mohammed, Bashir Danjuma

    Journal of Cyber Security, Vol.7, pp. 239-253, 2025, DOI:10.32604/jcs.2025.066312 - 14 July 2025

Abstract The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into ethical hacking practices has transformed vulnerability discovery and threat mitigation; however, it raises pressing ethical questions regarding responsibility, justice, and privacy. This paper presents a PRISMA-guided systematic review of twelve peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and March 2024, supplemented by Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis, to map four core challenges: (1) autonomy and human oversight, (2) algorithmic bias and mitigation strategies, (3) data privacy preservation mechanisms, and (4) limitations of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the European Union’s AI Act in addressing AI-specific risks, alongside the… More >
