    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.1, pp. 647-660, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016712

Abstract In this study, using Head Mounted Display (HMD), which is one of the biggest advantage of Virtual Reality (VR) environment, tracks the user’s gaze in 360° video content, and examines how the gaze pattern is distributed according to the user’s immersion. As a result of analyzing the gaze pattern distribution of contents with high user immersion and contents with low user immersion through a questionnaire, it was confirmed that the higher the immersion, the more the gaze distribution tends to be concentrated in the center of the screen. Through this experiment, we were able to understand the factors that make… More >

    Qinghai Li1, Ziyi Zhao2, Hao Wu1,*, Xiaoyu Li3,*, Qinsheng Zhu1, Shan Yang4

    Journal of Quantum Computing, Vol.3, No.1, pp. 35-43, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jqc.2021.016634

Abstract In the detection process of classic radars such as radar/lidar, the detection performance will be weakened due to the presence of background noise and loss. The quantum illumination protocol can use the spatial correlation between photon pairs to improve image quality and enhance radar detection performance, even in the presence of loss and noise. Based on this quantum illumination LIDAR, a theoretic scheme is developed for the detection and tracking of moving targets, and the trajectory of the object is analyzed. Illuminated by the quantum light source as Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion (SPDC), an opaque target can be identified from the… More >

    Yu Wang*

    Journal on Artificial Intelligence, Vol.3, No.2, pp. 63-72, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jai.2021.010455

Abstract Visual tracking is a classical computer vision problem with many applications. Efficient convolution operators (ECO) is one of the most outstanding visual tracking algorithms in recent years, it has shown great performance using discriminative correlation filter (DCF) together with HOG, color maps and VGGNet features. Inspired by new deep learning models, this paper propose a hybrid efficient convolution operators integrating fully convolution network (FCN) and residual network (ResNet) for visual tracking, where FCN and ResNet are introduced in our proposed method to segment the objects from backgrounds and extract hierarchical feature maps of objects, respectively. Compared with the traditional VGGNet,… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.28, No.3, pp. 683-692, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.017235

Abstract In the augmented reality system, the position and direction of the user’s point of view and line of sight in the real scene is acquired in real-time. The position and direction information will determine the exact position of the virtual object of the real scene. At the same time, various coordinate systems are established according to the user’s line of sight. So registration tracking technology is very important. The paper proposes an accurate, stable, and effective augmented reality registration algorithm. The method adopts the method of ORB (oriented FAST and rotated BRIEF) features matching combined with RANSAC (random sample consensus)… More >

    Dah-Jing Jwo*, Meng-Hsien Hsieh

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.2, pp. 1785-1805, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017225

Abstract In this paper, both the integrity monitoring and fault detection and exclusion (FDE) mechanisms are incorporated into the vector tracking loop (VTL) architecture of the Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver for reliability enhancement. For the VTL, the tasks of signal tracking and navigation state estimation no longer process separately and a single extended Kalman filter (EKF) is employed to simultaneously track the received signals and estimate the receiver’s position, velocity, etc. In contrast to the scalar tracking loop (STL) which utilizes the independent parallel tracking loop approach, the VTL technique is beneficial from the correlation of each satellite signal and… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.28, No.2, pp. 513-526, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016450

Abstract With the rapid development of the Internet of Things and advanced sensors, vision-based monitoring and forecasting applications have been widely used. In the context of the Internet of Things, visual devices can be regarded as network perception nodes that perform complex tasks, such as real-time monitoring of road traffic flow, target detection, and multi-target tracking. We propose the High-Performance detection and Multi-Correlation measurement algorithm (HPMC) to address the problem of target occlusion and perform trajectory correlation matching for multi-target tracking. The algorithm consists of three modules: 1) For the detection module, we proposed the You Only Look Once(YOLO)v3_plus model, which… More >

A Machine Learning Based Algorithm to Process Partial Shading Effects in PV Arrays

    Kamran Sadiq Awan1, Tahir Mahmood1, Mohammad Shorfuzzaman2, Rashid Ali3, Raja Majid Mehmood4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 29-43, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.014824

Abstract Solar energy is a widely used type of renewable energy. Photovoltaic arrays are used to harvest solar energy. The major goal, in harvesting the maximum possible power, is to operate the system at its maximum power point (MPP). If the irradiation conditions are uniform, the P-V curve of the PV array has only one peak that is called its MPP. But when the irradiation conditions are non-uniform, the P-V curve has multiple peaks. Each peak represents an MPP for a specific irradiation condition. The highest of all the peaks is called Global Maximum Power Point (GMPP). Under uniform irradiation conditions,… More >

    Dah-Jing Jwo1,*, Jen-Hsien Lai2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.3, pp. 2883-2898, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015102

Abstract This paper investigates the minimum error entropy based extended Kalman filter (MEEKF) for multipath parameter estimation of the Global Positioning System (GPS). The extended Kalman filter (EKF) is designed to give a preliminary estimation of the state. The scheme is designed by introducing an additional term, which is tuned according to the higher order moment of the estimation error. The minimum error entropy criterion is introduced for updating the entropy of the innovation at each time step. According to the stochastic information gradient method, an optimal filer gain matrix is obtained. The mean square error criterion is limited to the… More >
