    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.3, pp. 2997-3011, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.038923

Abstract On the transmission line, the invasion of foreign objects such as kites, plastic bags, and balloons and the damage to electronic components are common transmission line faults. Detecting these faults is of great significance for the safe operation of power systems. Therefore, a YOLOv5 target detection method based on a deep convolution neural network is proposed. In this paper, Mobilenetv2 is used to replace Cross Stage Partial (CSP)-Darknet53 as the backbone. The structure uses depth-wise separable convolution toreduce the amount of calculation and parameters; improve the detection rate. At the same time, to compensate for the detection accuracy, the Squeeze-and-Excitation… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.10, pp. 2417-2431, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.029596

Abstract When using high-voltage transmission lines for energy transmission in loess hilly regions, local extreme wind fields such as turbulence and high-speed cyclones occur from time to time, which can cause many kinds of mechanical and electrical failures, seriously affecting the reliable and stable energy transmission of the power grid. The existing research focuses on the wind field simulation of ideal micro-terrain and actual terrain with mostly single micro-terrain characteristics. Model boundary constraints and the influence of constrained boundaries are the main problems that need to be solved to accurately model and simulate complex flow fields. In this paper, a flow… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.10, pp. 2287-2306, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.029140

Abstract The four-circuit parallel line on the same tower effectively solves the problems faced by the line reconstruction and construction under the condition of the increasing shortage of transmission corridors. Optimizing the conductor and phase sequence arrangement of multiple transmission lines is conducive to improving electromagnetic and electrostatic coupling caused by electromagnetic problems. This paper uses the ATP-EMTP simulation software to build a 500 kV multi-circuit transmission line on the same tower. It stimulates the induced voltage and current values of different line lengths, tower spacing, vertical and horizontal spacing between different circuits, phase sequence arrangement, and nominal tower height. Juanjuan Wang*, Jiangping Nan, Yanan Wang

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.11, pp. 2761-2775, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.021175

Abstract The main objective of this study is the technical optimization of a Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger (STHE). In order to do so, a simulation model is introduced that takes into account the related gas-phase circulation. Then, simulation verification experiments are designed in order to validate the model. The results show that the temperature field undergoes strong variations in time when an inlet wind speed of 6 m/s is considered, while the heat transfer error reaches a minimum of 5.1%. For an inlet velocity of 9 m/s, the heat transfer drops to the lowest point, while the heat transfer error reaches a… More >

    Abdur Rashid Sangi1,*, Satish Anamalamudi2, Mohammed S. Alkatheiri3, Murali Krishna Enduri2, Anil Carie2, Mohammed A. Alqarni4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.2, pp. 2217-2234, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.038305

Abstract Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETs) enable vehicles to act as mobile nodes that can fetch, share, and disseminate information about vehicle safety, emergency events, warning messages, and passenger infotainment. However, the continuous dissemination of information from vehicles and their one-hop neighbor nodes, Road Side Units (RSUs), and VANET infrastructures can lead to performance degradation of VANETs in the existing host-centric IP-based network. Therefore, Information Centric Networks (ICN) are being explored as an alternative architecture for vehicular communication to achieve robust content distribution in highly mobile, dynamic, and error-prone domains. In ICN-based Vehicular-IoT networks, consumer mobility is implicitly supported, but producer mobility… More >

    Mengfan Xu1, Yongliang Yu1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.25, No.1, pp. 1-2, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09812

Abstract During the steady swimming of carangiform or anguilliform swimmers, the fish body shows significant fluctuation characteristics. The formation of waving body is not only related to the driving force of fish muscle, but also to the material properties of fish body and fluid forces. In fluid mechanics, the propulsive force of fish body is closely related to reverse Kármán vortex street. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive understanding of the work done by the driving force, the formation of the fluctuation and propulsion of the fish. Based on the kinematic chain integration framework, the deformation of the fish… More >
