    P. Sreenivasulua,*, T. Poornimab,†, N. Bhaskar Reddyc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.9, pp. 1-7, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.9.20

Abstract This paper examines the variable thermal conductivity influence on MHD flow past a thermally stratified stretching cylinder with heat source or sink. The governing partial differential equations of the flow field are converted to a system of non-linear coupled similarity ordinary differential equations. Employing Shooting technique followed by Runge-Kutta method, the system is solved numerically. The effects of the various physical parameters countered in the flow field on the velocity, temperature as well as the skin friction coefficient and the rate of heat transfer near the wall are computed and illustrated graphically. Jadav Konch*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-10, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.29

Abstract Soret and Dufour effects on the unsteady flow of a viscous incompressible dusty fluid past an exponentially accelerated vertical plate with viscous dissipation have been considered in the presence of heat source and magnetic field. The viscosity and thermal conductivity of the fluid are assumed to be varying with respect to temperature. Saffman model of dusty fluid is considered for the investigation. The non-linear partial differential equations with prescribed boundary conditions governing the flow are discretized using Crank-Nicolson formula and the resulting finite difference equations are solved by an iterative scheme based on the Gauss-Seidel method by developing computer codes… More >

BUOYANCY RATIO AND HEAT SOURCE EFFECTS ON MHD FLOW OVER AN INCLINED NON-LINEARLY STRETCHING SHEET

    Thirupathi Thummaa,*, M.D. Shamshuddinb

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-12, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.5

Abstract This paper numerically investigates the magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer convective flow of an electrically conducting fluid in the presence of buoyancy ratio, heat source, variable magnetic field and radiation over an inclined nonlinear stretching sheet under convective surface boundary conditions. The Rosseland approximation is adopted for thermal radiation effects and the non-uniform magnetic field applied in a transverse direction to the flow. The coupled nonlinear momentum, thermal and species concentration governing boundary layer equations are rendered into a system of third order momentum and second order energy and mass diffusion ordinary differential equations via similarity transformations with appropriate boundary conditions. R. Suresh Babu1,2, B. Rushi Kumar1,*, P.A. Dinesh2

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-9, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.3

Abstract This problem deals with the effects of double diffusive, mixed convective flow of an incompressible viscous fluid through a vertical heated plate embedded in a non-Darcy porous medium under the influence of variable fluid properties numerically. The governing equations are modeled for the double diffusive boundary layer flow to understand the behaviour of velocity, temperature and concentration for variable fluid properties namely permeability, porosity, thermal conductivity and solutal diffusivity of the physical modal. Using a suitable similarity transformation, the highly nonlinear coupled PDE's are reduced into a set of coupled ordinary differential equations. By applying the Shooting technique with the… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.11, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.11.35

Abstract The primary objective of this paper is to examine the impact of variable viscosity and thermal conductivity on peristaltic transport of Casson liquid in a convectively heated inclined porous tube. The viscosity differs over the radial axis, and temperature dependent thermal conductivity is taken into account. The perturbation technique is utilized to solve the governing nonlinear equations under the assumption of long wavelength and small Reynolds number. The analytical solutions are obtained for velocity, streamlines, pressure rise, frictional force, and temperature when subjected to slip and convective boundary conditions. The impacts of related parameters on physiological quantities of interest are… More >

Jiuxuan Liu, Yong Zeng*, Xueya Zhao, Hongbo Chen, Bin Yan, Qian Lu

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.10, pp. 2499-2518, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.028413

    Abstract

A method combining computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and an analytical approach is proposed to develop a prediction model for the variable thickness of the spray-induced liquid film along the surface of a cylindrical workpiece. The numerical method relies on an Eulerian-Eulerian technique. Different cylinder diameters and positions and inclinations of the spray gun are considered and useful correlations for the thickness of the liquid film and its distribution are determined using various data fitting algorithms. Finally, the reliability of the proposed method is verified by means of experimental tests where the robot posture is changed. The provided correlation are intended… More > Graphic Abstract

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 1399-1419, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.038506

Abstract Queuing models are used to assess the functionality and aesthetics of SCADA systems for supervisory control and data collection. Here, the main emphasis is on how the queuing theory can be used in the system’s design and analysis. The analysis’s findings indicate that by using queuing models, cost-performance ratios close to the ideal might be attained. This article discusses a novel methodology for evaluating the service-oriented survivability of SCADA systems. In order to evaluate the state of service performance and the system’s overall resilience, the framework applies queuing theory to an analytical model. As a result, the SCADA process is… More >

    M. Ganapathiraoa,∗ , Ali J. Chamkhab, N. Srinivasa Raoc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.13, pp. 1-13, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.13.15

Abstract In this investigation, our objective is to study the effect of non-uniform slot suction or injection into a steady mixed convective MHD boundary layer flow over a vertical wedge embedded in a porous medium in the presence of chemical reaction. The wall of the wedge is embedded in a uniform porous medium in order to allow possible fluid wall suction or injection. The surface of the wedge is maintained at a variable wall temperature and concentration. The fluid is assumed to be viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting; and the magnetic field is applied transversally in the direction of the flow.… More >

    H. Astutia, P. Srib, S. Kaprawia,†

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.13, pp. 1-8, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.13.3

Abstract The natural convection of the nanofluids from a vertical accelerated plate in the presence of the radiation flux and magnetic field is observed in this study. Initially, the plate with a temperature higher than the temperature of nanofluids is at rest and then it accelerates moving upward and then the wall temperature decreases. The governing unsteady equations are solved by the explicit method based on the forward finite difference. Three different types of water-based nanofluids containing copper Cu, aluminum oxide Al2O3 and titanium dioxide TiO2 are taken into consideration. The hydrodynamic and thermal performance of the nanofluids is calculated. The… More >
