    Abstract

    The efficient development and exploitation of shale oil depends on long-distance horizontal wells. As the degree of cleaning of the wellbore plays a key role in these processes, in this study, this problem is investigated experimentally by focusing on the dimensionless cuttings bed height. A method is proposed to calculate the horizontal-well hydraulic extension taking into account the influence of the wellbore cleaning degree on the wellbore pressure distribution and assess the effect of a variety of factors such as the bottom hole pressure, the circulating pressure drop, the drilling pump performance and the formation properties.     Abstract The diffusion process of deep seawater drawn up by a vertical pipe deployed in the ocean is investigated. This vertical pipe is based on the principal of perpetual salt fountain. Numerical simulations of seawater upwelling from the pipe are performed based on experiments conducted in the Mariana trench region. Two turbulence modeling approaches were examined: k-ε model and Large Eddy Simulations (LES).     Abstract This study examined factors related to the psychological well-being of older adults and built and verified a model for predicting psychological well-being. The participants were 350 older adults aged over 60 years who lived in South Korea and were active in the local community. The model proposed in this study was found to be suitable. Depression, self-efficacy, and social support had a direct effect on the psychological well-being of older adults, while depression, activities of daily living (ADLs), and self-efficacy had an indirect effect.     Abstract This article presents an unsteady incompressible Upper Convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid flow with temperature dependent thermal conductivity between parallel porous plates which are maintained at different temperatures varying periodically with time. Assume that there is a periodic suction and injection at the upper and lower plates respectively. The governing partial differential equations are reduced to non linear ordinary differential equations by using similarity transformations and the solution is obtained using differential transform method.
