    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.4, pp. 949-963, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.025668

Abstract Because of the randomness of wind power and photovoltaic (PV) output of new energy bases, the problem of peak regulation capability and voltage stability of ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission lines, we proposed an optimum allocation method of installed capacity of the solar-thermal power station based on chance constrained programming in this work. Firstly, we established the uncertainty model of wind power and PV based on the chance constrained planning theory. Then we used the K-medoids clustering method to cluster the scenarios considering the actual operation scenarios throughout the year. Secondly, we established the optimal configuration model based on… More >

Abstract Nowadays, AC electronic loads with energy recovery are widely used in the testing of uninterruptible power supplies and power supply equipment. To tackle the problems of control difficulty, strategy complexity, and poor dynamic performance of AC electronic load with energy recovery of the conventional control strategy, a control strategy of AC electronic load with energy recovery based on Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC) is developed. To further reduce the computation burden of the FCS-MPC, a simplified FCS-MPC with transforming the predicted variables and using sector to select expected state is proposed. Through simplified model and equivalent approximation analysis,… More >

    Lei Wang1, Tiecheng Li1, Hui Fan2, Xuekai Hu1, Lin Yang3, Xiaomei Yang3,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.4, pp. 851-867, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.025383

Abstract In recent years, subsynchronous resonance (SSR) has frequently occurred in DFIG-connected series-compensated systems. For the analysis and prevention, it is of great importance to achieve wide area monitoring of the incident. This paper presents a Hankel dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) method to identify SSR parameters using synchrophasor data. The basic idea is to employ the DMD technique to explore the subspace of Hankel matrices constructed by synchrophasors. It is analytically demonstrated that the subspace of these Hankel matrices is a combination of fundamental and SSR modes. Therefore, the SSR parameters can be calculated once the modal parameter is extracted. Compared… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.4, pp. 1023-1043, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.025335

Abstract The optimal allocation of integrated energy system capacity based on the heuristic algorithms can reduce economic costs and achieve maximum consumption of renewable energy, which has attracted many attentions. However, the optimization results of heuristic algorithms are usually influenced by the choice of hyperparameters. To solve the above problem, the particle swarm algorithm is introduced to find the optimal hyperparameters of the heuristic algorithms. Firstly, an integrated energy system consisting of the photovoltaic, wind turbine, electrolysis cell, hydrogen storage tank, and energy storage is established. Meanwhile, the minimum economic cost, the maximum wind and PV power consumption rate, and the… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.4, pp. 831-850, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.025171

Abstract Recently, high-frequency oscillation of the modular multilevel converter (MMC) based high-voltage direct current (HVDC) projects has attracted great attentions. In order to analyze the small-signal stability, this paper uses the harmonic state-space (HSS) method to establish a detailed frequency domain impedance model of the AC-side of the HVDC transmission system, which considers the internal dynamic characteristics. In addition, the suggested model is also used to assess the system's high-frequency oscillation mechanism, and the effects of the MMC current inner loop control, feedforward voltage links, and control delay on the high-frequency impedance characteristics and the effect of higher harmonic components. Finally,… More >

Then, binarization is achieved by combining Laplacian edge detection and Otsu threshold segmentation. Finally, the automatic identification of weld defect area is realized based on the sequential traversal of binary tree. Several characteristic analysis dimensions are established… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.3, pp. 763-774, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.025893

    Abstract

Due to the characteristics of reservoir formation, the producing level of low permeability reservoir is relatively very low. It is hard to obtain high recovery through conventional development schemes. Considering the tight matrix, complex fracture system, low production level of producers, and low recovery factor of M block in Xinjiang oilfield, it is selected for on-site pilot test of nitrogen foam flooding. Detailed flooding scheme is made and the test results are evaluated respectively both for producers and injectors. The pressure index, filling degree, and fluid injection profile are found to be all improved in injectors after injection of nitrogen… More >
