    Bio Chéïssou Koto Tamou1,2,3, Jean-Michel Mechling2, Crespin Prudence Yabi1,*, Gildas Edjrossè F. Godonou3, Edmond Codjo Adjovi1, Mohamed Gibigaye3, André Lecomte2, Nicolas Brosse4

Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.030509

Abstract The housing sector today uses elaborate materials such as cement, iron, sand, often prohibitively expensive and whose production generates a strong environmental impact (scarcity of resources, transport, greenhouse gas greenhouse, etc.). In order to meet the challenges of sustainable development, earth construction is experiencing a resurgence of interest these days. Despite its many advantages, raw earth material has drawbacks, in particular its low mechanical resistance and its loss of geometric characteristics in the face of water, which slow down its development. As part of this study, the mechanical characteristics and durability of raw earth were improved by using residual water… More >

Seeded Transfer Learning for Enhanced Attack Trace and Effective Deception

    Jalaj Pateria1,*, Laxmi Ahuja1, Subhranil Som2

Journal of Cyber Security, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/jcs.2023.040186

Abstract Cyberattacks have reached their peak during COVID-19, and intruders urge to gain the upper hand in the cybersecurity battlefield, even gaining dominance. Now intruders are trying harder to elude behavior analysis techniques, which in turn gets organization security to come for a toss. This phenomenon is even more prevalent in agentless environments (IOT devices, mobile devices), where we do not have any access to edge devices and rely on packet data to predict any attack and its actors. In this paper, we shall be discussing enhancing the accuracy of anomalous behavior detection techniques for efficient threat intelligence and revamping deception… More >

Discovering the Common Traits of Cybercrimes in Pakistan Using Associative Classification with Ant Colony Optimization

Abdul Rauf1, Muhammad Asif Khan1,*, Hamid Hussain Awan2, Waseem Shahzad3, Najeeb Ul Husaan4

Journal of Cyber Security, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/jcs.2022.038791

Abstract In the modern world, law enforcement authorities are facing challenges due to the advanced technology used by criminals to commit crimes. Criminals follow specific patterns to carry out their crimes, which can be identified using machine learning and swarm intelligence approaches. This article proposes the use of the Ant Colony Optimization algorithm to create an associative classification of crime data, which can reveal potential relationships between different features and crime types. The experiments conducted in this research show that this approach can discover various associations among the features of crime data and the specific patterns that major crime types depend… More >

Full Scale-Aware Balanced High-Resolution Network for Multi-Person Pose Estimation

Shaohua Li, Haixiang Zhang*, Hanjie Ma, Jie Feng, Mingfeng Jiang

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.041538

Abstract Scale variation is a major challenge in multi-person pose estimation. In scenes where persons are present at various distances, models tend to perform better on larger-scale persons, while the performance for smaller-scale persons often falls short of expectations. Therefore, effectively balancing the persons of different scales poses a significant challenge. So this paper proposes a new multi-person pose estimation model called FSA Net to improve the model’s performance in complex scenes. Our model utilizes High-Resolution Network (HRNet) as the backbone and feeds the outputs of the last stage’s four branches into the DCB module. The dilated convolution-based (DCB) module employs… More >

Deciphering key genes involved in cisplatin resistance in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma through a combined in silico and in vitro approach

    MUNEEBA MALIK1, MAMOONA MAQBOOL2, TOOBA NISAR3, TAZEEM AKHTER4, JAVED AHMED UJAN5,6, ALANOOD S. ALGARNI7, FAKHRIA A. AL JOUFI8, SULTAN SHAFI K. ALANAZI9, MOHAMMAD HADI ALMOTARED10, MOUNIR M. SALEM BEKHIT11, MUHAMMAD JAMIL12,*

    Oncology Research, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/or.2023.030760

Abstract The low survival rate of Kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) patients is largely attributed to cisplatin resistance. Rather than focusing solely on individual proteins, exploring protein-protein interactions could offer greater insight into drug resistance. To this end, a series of in silico and in vitro experiments were conducted to identify hub genes in the intricate network of cisplatin resistance-related genes in KIRC chemotherapy. The genes involved in cisplatin resistance across KIRC were retrieved from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database using search terms as “Kidney renal clear cell carcinoma” and “Cisplatin resistance”. The genes retrieved were analyzed… More >

Numerical-Experimental Analysis of the Coal Fracture Formation Mechanism Induced by Liquid CO2 Explosion

    Yun Lei1,2,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.029570

Abstract The highly inefficient simultaneous extraction of coal and gas from low-permeability and high-gas coal seams in deep mines is a major problem often restricting the sustainable development of coal industry. A possible way to solve this problem under deep and complex geological conditions is represented by the technology based on the phase-change induced explosion of liquid carbon dioxide. In this work, the mechanism of formation of the coal mass fracture circle resulting from the gas cracking process is theoretically analyzed. Numerical simulations show that a blasting crushing zone with a radius of 1.0 m is formed around the blasting hole.… More >

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.029545

Abstract The composite exciter and the CaO to Na2SO4 dosing ratios are known to have a strong impact on the mechanical strength of fly-ash concrete. In the present study a hybrid approach relying on experiments and a machine-learning technique has been used to tackle this problem. The tests have shown that the optimal admixture of CaO and Na2SO4 alone is 8%. The best 3D mechanical strength of fly-ash concrete is achieved at 8% of the compound activator; If the 28-day mechanical strength is considered, then, the best performances are obtained at 4% of the compound activator. Moreover, the 3D mechanical strength… More >
