    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 143-158, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2022.020075

Abstract In recent years evidence has emerged suggesting that Mini-basketball training program (MBTP) can be an effective intervention method to improve social communication (SC) impairments and restricted and repetitive behaviors (RRBs) in preschool children suffering from autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, there is a considerable degree if interindividual variability concerning these social outcomes and thus not all preschool children with ASD profit from a MBTP intervention to the same extent. In order to make more accurate predictions which preschool children with ASD can benefit from an MBTP intervention or which preschool children with ASD need additional interventions to achieve behavioral improvements,… More >

Effects of College Students’ Perceived Stress on Anxiety in the Time of COVID-19: The Chain Mediation Role of Psychological Resilience and Regulatory Emotional Self-Efficacy

    Ting Li1,3,*, Qiang Xie2,3

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 263-276, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2022.019177

Abstract COVID-19 has changed the way of learning and life of college students. The purpose is to explore the relationship between perceived stress and anxiety, and the mediating effect of resilience and regulatory emotional self-efficacy in college students during COVID-19. 309 students from three colleges were selected as research participants (average age 19.79 ± 1.11 years). SPSS was used to measure the correlation between variables. Amos was used to test the path coefficient and mediating effect of the hypothetical model. The results show that: Firstly, perceived stress has a significantly and positively predictive effect on anxiety. Secondly, psychological resilience and regulatory emotional self-efficacy… More >

Why Insisting in Being Volunteers? A Practical Case Study Exploring from Both Rational and Emotional Perspectives

    Kuei-Feng Chang1, Wen-Goang Yang2, Ya-Wen Cheng3, I-Tung Shih2,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 219-236, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2022.018187

Abstract This study explored the mechanism on how volunteers as rationalists use rationalism during their cognitive appraisal process when dealing with emotional events in their social helping behavior such as international rescue events. The authors used the triangulation method to include three studies (Study 1 is a qualitative research which explored ways of TCF leader’s inspiring their volunteer workers; Study 2 is a quantitative research on the decision-making process of volunteer individuals involving in international rescue activities; Study 3 is a quantitative research on individuals’ motivation for joining social helping behavior) for validation of Tzu Chi Foundation (TCF), which is a… More >

Closing the Gap: Characterizing Key Factors Leading to the Disparity in Suicide Rates along the Urban-Rural Continuum

Harrison Schurr, Andrei Tuluca*, Beth Bailey

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 159-167, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2022.017990

Abstract Suicide is a top ten cause of mortality in the United States. In previous literature the suicide rates in rural communities have been reported to be greater than those of more urban communities. Additionally, these studies have discussed many potential causes for the unfortunate disparity in rates. One cause often discussed is lack of mental health care providers in rural communities. The data for this study was gathered from the CDC’s WONDER database and the NPPES NPI Registry. The urban-rural categorization of counties used the 2013 NCHS Urban-Rural Scheme. Statistical analysis included chi-square tests, paired t-tests, and stepwise regression analyses.… More >

Effect of Positive Workplace Gossip on Employee Silence: Psychological Safety as Mediator and Promotion-Focused as Moderator

    Ganli Liao1, Qianqiu Wang1, Yi Li2,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 237-249, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2022.017610

Abstract The development of electronic information technology has made workplace gossip more ubiquitous. As a part of interpersonal communication on informal occasions, positive workplace gossip affects individuals’ mood, cognition, and behaviors. In light of this and based on the Social Interdependence Theory, the study proposed that positive workplace gossip has a negative effect on employee silence, and psychological safety mediates this relationship. In addition, the promotion-focused moderates the relationship between psychological safety and employee silence. Based on a two-wave sampling design from 311 innovative enterprises employees, the results of Structural Equation Model by AMOS 22.0 and Mplus 7.0 supported all the… More >

COVID-19 Lockdown in India: An Experimental Study on Promoting Mental Wellness Using a Chatbot during the Coronavirus

    V. P. Harshini Raji*, P. Uma Maheswari

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 189-205, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2022.011865

Abstract India imposed the largest lockdown in the world in response to fight the spread of the Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from 19 March till 31 May 2020. The onset of the pandemic left the general public feeling psychosocially distressed, helpless, and anxious. The researcher developed a Messenger supported Chatbot, based on the broaden and build model, to cater to the healthy general public to promote positivity and mental well-being. 31 participants between 22 and 45 years old consensually took a pre-test, Chatbot intervention, and post-test. The Chatbot provided guided activities out of which positive affirmations, meditation, and exercises were mostly… More >

Abstract The current cyber-attack environment has put even the most protected systems at risk as the hackers are now modifying technologies to exploit even the tiniest of weaknesses and infiltrate networks. In this situation, it's critical to design and construct software that is both secure and long-lasting. While security is the most well-defined aspect of health information software systems, it is equally significant to prioritise sustainability because any health information software system will be more effective if it provides both security and sustainability to the customers at the same time. In this league, it is crucial to determine those characteristics in… More >

A Secure Three-Party Authenticated Key Exchange Protocol for Social Networks

    Vivek Kumar Sinha1, Divya Anand1,*, Fahd S. Alharithi2, Ahmed H. Almulihi2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 6293-6305, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024877

Abstract The 3PAKE (Three-Party Authenticated Key Exchange) protocol is a valuable cryptographic method that offers safe communication and permits two diverse parties to consent to a new safe meeting code using the trusted server. There have been explored numerous 3PAKE protocols earlier to create a protected meeting code between users employing the trusted server. However, existing modified 3PAKE protocols have numerous drawbacks and are incapable to provide desired secrecy against diverse attacks such as man-in-the-middle, brute-force attacks, and many others in social networks. In this article, the authors proposed an improved as well as safe 3PAKE protocol based on the hash… More >

Reinforced CNN Forensic Discriminator to Detect Document Forgery by DCGAN

    Seo-young Lim, Jeongho Cho*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 6039-6051, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024862

Abstract Recently, the technology of digital image forgery based on a generative adversarial network (GAN) has considerably improved to the extent that it is difficult to distinguish it from the original image with the naked eye by compositing and editing a person's face or a specific part with the original image. Thus, much attention has been paid to digital image forgery as a social issue. Further, document forgery through GANs can completely change the meaning and context in a document, and it is difficult to identify whether the document is forged or not, which is dangerous. Nonetheless, few studies have been… More >
