Guangzhou, China – September 2026 – Dr. Dany Xiang, Head of the Biomedical Journals Department at Tech Science Press (TSP), delivered a seminar on scholarly publishing and manuscript submission at Jinan University on 18 September 2026, at the invitation of Prof. Chuanxi Wang of the College of Pharmacy.
The seminar, titled “The Publication Process and Practical Guidance on Manuscript Submission,” brought together researchers, clinicians, and faculty members to discuss the publication process for biomedical research and practical considerations when submitting manuscripts to academic journals.
TSP’s Biomedical Journals Department currently oversees five journals: BIOCELL, The Canadian Journal of Urology (CJU), European Cytokine Network (ECN), Oncologie, and Oncology Research (OR). Drawing on editorial and publishing experience across these journals, Dr. Xiang discussed the key stages of publication, from manuscript preparation and journal selection to editorial assessment, peer review, revision, and publication ethics.

The seminar addressed factors that editors and reviewers commonly consider when evaluating biomedical manuscripts, including research novelty, methodology and presentation of results, ethical requirements, writing quality, and alignment with a journal’s scope.
Dr. Xiang also used editorial examples to discuss manuscript revision and responses to peer-review comments. Topics included identifying reviewers’ main concerns, distinguishing between comments on methodology, interpretation of results, research ethics, and language, and preparing clear point-by-point responses during revision.
