    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.3, pp. 3629-3652, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017333

Abstract This pilot study focuses on a real measurements and enhancements of a software defined radio-based system for vehicle-to everything visible light communication (SDR-V2X-VLC). The presented system is based on a novel adaptive optimization of the feed-forward software defined equalization (FFSDE) methods of the least mean squares (LMS), normalized LMS (NLMS) and QR decomposition-based recursive least squares (QR-RLS) algorithms. Individual parameters of adaptive equalizations are adjusted in real-time to reach the best possible results. Experiments were carried out on a conventional LED Octavia III taillight drafted directly from production line and universal software radio peripherals (USRP) from National Instruments. The transmitting/receiving… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.3, pp. 3807-3823, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016087

Abstract Drone applications in 5th generation (5G) networks mainly focus on services and use cases such as providing connectivity during crowded events, human-instigated disasters, unmanned aerial vehicle traffic management, internet of things in the sky, and situation awareness. 4G and 5G cellular networks face various challenges to ensure dynamic control and safe mobility of the drone when it is tasked with delivering these services. The drone can fly in three-dimensional space. The drone connectivity can suffer from increased handover cost due to several reasons, including variations in the received signal strength indicator, co-channel interference offered to the drone by neighboring cells,… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.90, No.4, pp. 1177-1192, 2021, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2021.015206

Abstract The fatty acid dehydrogenase gene plays an important role in regulating the oleic acid content in soybean. Genome-wide association study screened out soybean oleic acid related gene Gm15G117700. A fragment size of 693bp was obtained by PCR amplification of the gene and, it was connected by seamless cloning technology to the pMD18T cloning vector. Based on the gene sequence cloned, bioinformatic analysis of gene protein was performed. The overexpression vector of Gm15G117700 and the CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing vector were constructed. The positive plants were obtained by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of soybean cotyledon nodes and T2 plants were identified by conventional PCR,… More >

Faizan Qamar1, Mhd Nour Hindia2, Tharek Abd Rahman3, Rosilah Hassan1, Kaharudin Dimyati2, Quang Ngoc Nguyen4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.2, pp. 2249-2264, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017198

Abstract The 5G network has been intensively investigated to realize the ongoing early deployment stage as an effort to match the exponential growth of the number of connected users and their increasing demands for high throughput, bandwidth with Quality of Service (QoS), and low latency. Given that most of the spectrums below 6 GHz are nearly used up, it is not feasible to employ the traditional spectrum, which is currently in use. Therefore, a promising and highly feasible effort to satisfy this insufficient frequency spectrum is to acquire new frequency bands for next-generation mobile communications. Toward this end, the primary effort… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.2, pp. 2563-2578, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016813

Abstract In this paper, low profile frequency reconfigurable monopole antenna is designed on FR-4 substrate with a compact size of 30 mm3 × 20 mm3 × 1.6 mm3. The antenna is tuned to four different modes through three pin diode switches. In Mode 1 (SW1 to SW3 = OFF), antenna covers a wideband of 3.15–8.51 GHz. For Mode 2 (SW1 = ON, SW2 to SW3 = OFF), the proposed antenna resonates at 3.5 GHz. The antenna shows dual band behavior and covers 2.6 and 6.4 GHz in Mode 3 (SW1 and SW2 = ON, SW3 = OFF). The same antenna covers… More >

Abstract The design of green cellular networking according to the traffic arrivals has the capability to reduce the overall energy consumption to a cluster in a cost-effective way. The cell zooming approach has appealed much attention that adaptively offloads the BS load demands adjusting the transmit power based on the traffic intensity and green energy availability. Besides, the researchers are focused on implementing renewable energy resources, which are considered the most attractive practices in designing energy-efficient wireless networks over the long term in a cost-efficient way in the existing infrastructure. The utilization of available solar can be adapted to acquire cost-effective… More >

PTS-PAPR Reduction Technique for 5G Advanced Waveforms Using BFO Algorithm

    Arun Kumar1, Manoj Gupta1, Dac-Nhuong Le2,3,*, Ayman A. Aly4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.27, No.3, pp. 713-722, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.015793

Abstract Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) will play an imperative part in an advanced 5G radio arrangement, owing to its numerous benefits such as improved spectrum adeptness, fast data rate, truncated spectrum leakage, and, so on. So far, NOMA undergoes from peak to average power ratio (PAPR) problem, which shrinks the throughput of the scheme. In this article, we propose a hybrid method, centered on the combination of advanced Partial transmission sequence (PTS), Selective mapping (SLM), and bacteria foraging optimization (BFO), known as PTS-BFO and SLM-PTS. PTS and SLM are utilized at the sender side and divide the NOMA into several sub-blocks.… More >

Low Complexity Decoding Algorithm for Uplink SCMA Based on Aerial Spherical Decoding

    Xiaohong Ji1, Junjun Du1, Guoqing Jia1,*, Weidong Fang2,3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.27, No.3, pp. 737-746, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.013009

Abstract As a new non-orthogonal multiple access technology for 5G massive machine type communication scenario, the sparse code multiple access (SCMA) has greatly improved the spectrum efficiency due to the high connection density. SCMA combines QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) modulation and sparse spreading into a codebook set to obtain forming gain. The user binary bit data is directly mapped into multi-dimensional codewords in the transmitter. The receiver uses the message passing algorithm (MPA) for multi-user detection to achieve efficient decoding. However, MPA is a good solution for SCMA, though its high complexity limits the application in practical systems. In order to… More >

Abstract In the Next Generation Radio Networks (NGRN), there will be extreme massive connectivity with the Heterogeneous Internet of Things (HetIoT) devices. The millimeter-Wave (mmWave) communications will become a potential core technology to increase the capacity of Radio Networks (RN) and enable Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) of Radio Remote Head (RRH) technology. However, the challenging key issues in unfair radio resource handling remain unsolved when massive requests are occurring concurrently. The imbalance of resource utilization is one of the main issues occurs when there is overloaded connectivity to the closest RRH receiving exceeding requests. To handle this issue effectively, Machine Learning… More >
