Occluded Gait Emotion Recognition Based on Multi-Scale Suppression Graph Convolutional Network

    Yuxiang Zou1, Ning He2,*, Jiwu Sun1, Xunrui Huang1, Wenhua Wang1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.82, No.1, pp. 1255-1276, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.055732 - 03 January 2025

Abstract In recent years, gait-based emotion recognition has been widely applied in the field of computer vision. However, existing gait emotion recognition methods typically rely on complete human skeleton data, and their accuracy significantly declines when the data is occluded. To enhance the accuracy of gait emotion recognition under occlusion, this paper proposes a Multi-scale Suppression Graph Convolutional Network (MS-GCN). The MS-GCN consists of three main components: Joint Interpolation Module (JI Moudle), Multi-scale Temporal Convolution Network (MS-TCN), and Suppression Graph Convolutional Network (SGCN). The JI Module completes the spatially occluded skeletal joints using the (K-Nearest Neighbors)… More >

Improving the Position Accuracy and Computational Efficiency of UAV Terrain Aided Navigation Using a Two-Stage Hybrid Fuzzy Particle Filtering Method

    Sofia Yousuf1, Muhammad Bilal Kadri2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.82, No.1, pp. 1193-1210, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.054587 - 03 January 2025

Abstract Terrain Aided Navigation (TAN) technology has become increasingly important due to its effectiveness in environments where Global Positioning System (GPS) is unavailable. In recent years, TAN systems have been extensively researched for both aerial and underwater navigation applications. However, many TAN systems that rely on recursive Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) position estimation methods, such as Extended Kalman Filters (EKF), often face challenges with divergence and instability, particularly in highly non-linear systems. To address these issues, this paper proposes and investigates a hybrid two-stage TAN positioning system for UAVs that utilizes Particle Filter. To enhance the… More >

Khadija El Fellah1,*, Ikram El Azami2,*, Adil El Makrani2, Habiba Bouijij3, Oussama El Azzouzy4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.49, pp. 99-122, 2025, DOI:10.32604/csse.2024.057754 - 03 January 2025

Abstract The rapid growth of the automotive industry has raised significant concerns about the security of connected vehicles and their integrated supply chains, which are increasingly vulnerable to advanced cyber threats. Traditional authentication methods have proven insufficient, exposing systems to risks such as Sybil, Denial of Service (DoS), and Eclipse attacks. This study critically examines the limitations of current security protocols, focusing on authentication and data exchange vulnerabilities, and explores blockchain technology as a potential solution. Blockchain’s decentralized and cryptographically secure framework can significantly enhance Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication, ensure data integrity, and enable transparent, immutable transactions More >

    Nishit Patil, Shubhalaxmi Joshi*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.49, pp. 49-77, 2025, DOI:10.32604/csse.2024.057702 - 03 January 2025

Abstract Intrusion detection (ID) is a cyber security practice that encompasses the process of monitoring network activities to identify unauthorized or malicious actions. This includes problems like the difficulties of existing intrusion detection models to identify emerging attacks, generating many false alarms, and their inability and difficulty to adapt themselves with time when it comes to threats, hence to overcome all those existing challenges in this research develop a Prairie Araneida optimization based fused Convolutional Neural Network model (PAO-CNN) for intrusion detection. The fused CNN (Convolutional Neural Netowrk) is a remarkable development since it combines statistical… More >

    Verónica C. Tapia1,2,*, Carlos M. Gaona2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.49, pp. 1-17, 2025, DOI:10.32604/csse.2024.056979 - 03 January 2025

Abstract In recent years, automation has become a key focus in software development as organizations seek to improve efficiency and reduce time-to-market. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, particularly those using natural language processing (NLP) like ChatGPT, has opened new possibilities for automating various stages of the development lifecycle. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of ChatGPT in automating various phases of software development. An artificial intelligence (AI) tool was developed using the OpenAI—Application Programming Interface (API), incorporating two key functionalities: 1) generating user stories based on case or process… More >

Joint Estimation of SOH and RUL for Lithium-Ion Batteries Based on Improved Twin Support Vector Machineh

    Liyao Yang1, Hongyan Ma1,2,3,*, Yingda Zhang1, Wei He1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.1, pp. 243-264, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.057500 - 27 December 2024

Abstract Accurately estimating the State of Health (SOH) and Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) is crucial for the continuous and stable operation of battery management systems. However, due to the complex internal chemical systems of LIBs and the nonlinear degradation of their performance, direct measurement of SOH and RUL is challenging. To address these issues, the Twin Support Vector Machine (TWSVM) method is proposed to predict SOH and RUL. Initially, the constant current charging time of the lithium battery is extracted as a health indicator (HI), decomposed using Variational Modal Decomposition (VMD), and… More >

Grid-Connected/Islanded Switching Control Strategy for Photovoltaic Storage Hybrid Inverters Based on Modified Chimpanzee Optimization Algorithm

    Chao Zhou1, Narisu Wang1, Fuyin Ni1,2,*, Wenchao Zhang1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.1, pp. 265-284, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.057380 - 27 December 2024

Abstract Uneven power distribution, transient voltage, and frequency deviations are observed in the photovoltaic storage hybrid inverter during the switching between grid-connected and island modes. In response to these issues, this paper proposes a grid-connected/island switching control strategy for photovoltaic storage hybrid inverters based on the modified chimpanzee optimization algorithm. The proposed strategy incorporates coupling compensation and power differentiation elements based on the traditional droop control. Then, it combines the angular frequency and voltage amplitude adjustments provided by the phase-locked loop-free pre-synchronization control strategy. Precise pre-synchronization is achieved by regulating the virtual current to zero and… More >

    Yun Zhang1,*, Zifen Han2, Biao Tian1, Ning Chen2, Yi Fan3

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.1, pp. 167-184, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.056190 - 27 December 2024

Abstract The new energy power generation is becoming increasingly important in the power system. Such as photovoltaic power generation has become a research hotspot, however, due to the characteristics of light radiation changes, photovoltaic power generation is unstable and random, resulting in a low utilization rate and directly affecting the stability of the power grid. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a coordinated control strategy for a new energy power generation system with a hybrid energy storage unit based on the lithium iron phosphate-supercapacitor hybrid energy storage unit. Firstly, the variational mode decomposition algorithm is… More >
