Dynamical Analysis of the Stochastic COVID-19 Model Using Piecewise Differential Equation Technique

    Yu-Ming Chu1, Sobia Sultana2, Saima Rashid3,*, Mohammed Shaaf Alharthi4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.3, pp. 2427-2464, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028771 - 03 August 2023

Abstract Various data sets showing the prevalence of numerous viral diseases have demonstrated that the transmission is not truly homogeneous. Two examples are the spread of Spanish flu and COVID-19. The aim of this research is to develop a comprehensive nonlinear stochastic model having six cohorts relying on ordinary differential equations via piecewise fractional differential operators. Firstly, the strength number of the deterministic case is carried out. Then, for the stochastic model, we show that there is a critical number that can predict virus persistence and infection eradication. Because of the peculiarity of More >

    Mahmood Hussain Mir1,*, Sanjay Jamwal1, Ummer Iqbal2, Abolfazl Mehbodniya3, Julian Webber3, Umar Hafiz Khan4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.3, pp. 2529-2565, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.027173 - 03 August 2023

Abstract The lack of modern technology in healthcare has led to the death of thousands of lives worldwide due to COVID- 19 since its outbreak. The Internet of Things (IoT) along with other technologies like Machine Learning can revolutionize the traditional healthcare system. Instead of reactive healthcare systems, IoT technology combined with machine learning and edge computing can deliver proactive and preventive healthcare services. In this study, a novel healthcare edge-assisted framework has been proposed to detect and prognosticate the COVID-19 suspects in the initial phases to stop the transmission of coronavirus infection. The proposed framework… More >

A Restricted SIR Model with Vaccination Effect for the Epidemic Outbreaks Concerning COVID-19

    Ibtehal Alazman1, Kholoud Saad Albalawi1, Pranay Goswami2,*, Kuldeep Malik2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.3, pp. 2409-2425, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028674 - 03 August 2023

Abstract This paper presents a restricted SIR mathematical model to analyze the evolution of a contagious infectious disease outbreak (COVID-19) using available data. The new model focuses on two main concepts: first, it can present multiple waves of the disease, and second, it analyzes how far an infection can be eradicated with the help of vaccination. The stability analysis of the equilibrium points for the suggested model is initially investigated by identifying the matching equilibrium points and examining their stability. The basic reproduction number is calculated, and the positivity of the solutions is established. Numerical simulations More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.2, pp. 1793-1817, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.039648 - 28 July 2023

Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) has gained popularity for the containment of COVID-19 pandemic applications. Several AI techniques provide efficient mechanisms for handling pandemic situations. AI methods, protocols, data sets, and various validation mechanisms empower the users towards proper decision-making and procedures to handle the situation. Despite so many tools, there still exist conditions in which AI must go a long way. To increase the adaptability and potential of these techniques, a combination of AI and Bigdata is currently gaining popularity. This paper surveys and analyzes the methods within the various computational paradigms used by different researchers More >

    Esraa Hassan1, Fatma M. Talaat1, Samah Adel2, Samir Abdelrazek3, Ahsan Aziz4, Yunyoung Nam4,*, Nora El-Rashidy1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.2, pp. 1507-1525, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.037493 - 28 July 2023

Abstract Black fungus is a rare and dangerous mycology that usually affects the brain and lungs and could be life-threatening in diabetic cases. Recently, some COVID-19 survivors, especially those with co-morbid diseases, have been susceptible to black fungus. Therefore, recovered COVID-19 patients should seek medical support when they notice mucormycosis symptoms. This paper proposes a novel ensemble deep-learning model that includes three pre-trained models: reset (50), VGG (19), and Inception. Our approach is medically intuitive and efficient compared to the traditional deep learning models. An image dataset was aggregated from various resources and divided into two More >

On Fractional Differential Inclusion for an Epidemic Model via L-Fuzzy Fixed Point Results

    Maha Noorwali1, Mohammed Shehu Shagari2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.2, pp. 1937-1956, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028239 - 26 June 2023

Abstract The real world is filled with uncertainty, vagueness, and imprecision. The concepts we meet in everyday life are vague rather than precise. In real-world situations, if a model requires that conclusions drawn from it have some bearings on reality, then two major problems immediately arise, viz. real situations are not usually crisp and deterministic; complete descriptions of real systems often require more comprehensive data than human beings could recognize simultaneously, process and understand. Conventional mathematical tools which require all inferences to be exact, are not always efficient to handle imprecisions in a wide variety of… More >

    Amani Yahyaoui1, Jawad Rasheed2,*, Shtwai Alsubai3, Raed M. Shubair4, Abdullah Alqahtani5, Buket Isler6, Rana Zeeshan Haider7

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 2247-2261, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.036840 - 21 June 2023

Abstract The coronavirus (COVID-19) is a disease declared a global pandemic that threatens the whole world. Since then, research has accelerated and varied to find practical solutions for the early detection and correct identification of this disease. Several researchers have focused on using the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques in disease diagnosis to diagnose and detect the coronavirus. This paper developed deep learning (DL) and machine learning (ML) -based models using laboratory findings to diagnose COVID-19. Six different methods are used in this study: K-nearest neighbor (KNN), Decision Tree (DT) and Naive Bayes (NB) as… More >

Abstract As a result of the introduction of new infectious illnesses, key infection prevention measures were implemented. Now, a new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) epidemic has expanded swiftly, causing the coronavirus illness 2019 (COVID-19). Many microorganisms spread illness via hospital surfaces due to environmental pollution. This virus has been associated to close contact between persons in tight situations such as houses, hospitals, assisted living, and residential institutions. Aside from health care settings, public buildings, faith-based community centers, marketplaces, transportation, and corporate environments are prone to COVID-19 transmission. Physical contact to the sanitizer device may cause for spread Covid More >

Abstract In 2019, the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) ravaged the world. As of July 2021, there are about 192 million infected people worldwide and 4.1365 million deaths. At present, the new coronavirus is still spreading and circulating in many places around the world, especially since the emergence of Delta variant strains has increased the risk of the COVID-19 pandemic again. The symptoms of COVID-19 are diverse, and most patients have mild symptoms, with fever, dry cough, and fatigue as the main manifestations, and about 15.7% to 32.0% of patients will develop severe symptoms. Patients are… More >
