Zheng Zhang, Juan Chen*, Qing Guo

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.3, pp. 1529-1563, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021451

Abstract Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) have been introduced into various applications, such as automated warehouse systems, flexible manufacturing systems, and container terminal systems. However, few publications have outlined problems in need of attention in AGV applications comprehensively. In this paper, several key issues and essential models are presented. First, the advantages and disadvantages of centralized and decentralized AGVs systems were compared; second, warehouse layout and operation optimization were introduced, including some omitted areas, such as AGVs fleet size and electrical energy management; third, AGVs scheduling algorithms in chessboardlike environments were analyzed; fourth, the classical route-planning algorithms for single AGV and multiple… More > Graphic Abstract

    Fangwei Zhang1,2,*, Shihe Xu3, Bing Han4, Liming Zhang2, Jun Ye5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.3, pp. 2211-2226, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.022418

Abstract In optimization theory, the adaptive control of the optimization process is an important goal that people pursue. To solve this problem, this study introduces the idea of neutrosophic decision-making into classical heuristic algorithm, and proposes a novel neutrosophic adaptive clustering optimization thought, which is applied in a novel neutrosophic genetic algorithm (NGA), for example. The main feature of NGA is that the NGA treats the crossover effect as a neutrosophic fuzzy set, the variation ratio as a structural parameter, the crossover effect as a benefit parameter and the variation effect as a cost parameter, and then a neutrosophic fitness function… More >

Li Xu, Kang Li, Jia Li, Liyu Liu, Fang Xu, Yan Xu, Yi Kong, Xingxiang Pu, Qianzhi Wang, Jingyi Wang, Bolin Chen*, Lin Wu*

    Oncologie, Vol.24, No.3, pp. 579-590, 2022, DOI:10.32604/oncologie.2022.022121

Abstract Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), caused by abnormal gene drive, may have primary drug resistance after treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs). Therefore, we explore whether the primary drug-resistant NSCLC treated with EGFR-TKI is related to the miR-21/Sonic Hedgehog (SHH)/PI3K/AKT pathway. Methods: The patients from our hospital who meet the AJCC TNM staging (7th edition) stage IIIB and stage IV NSCLC were selected in this case study. Thereafter, the treatment response of EGFR-TKIs was evaluated according to the solid tumor efficacy evaluation standard (version 1.1). The patients were divided into the EGFR-TKIs primary drug resistance group (EGFR-TKIs-Primary-R) and the… More >

    Xucheng Chang1,*, Bing Kong2, Yong Li1, Gaofeng Ren1, Chao Zhang1, Zhenghe Wang1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.5, pp. 1941-1966, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.020698

Abstract For purpose of achieving the desired thermal comfort level and reducing the economic cost of maintaining the thermal comfort of green residential building, an energy efficient thermal comfort control strategy based on economic model predictive control (EMPC) for green residential buildings which adopts household heat metering is presented. Firstly, the nonlinear thermal comfort model of heating room is analyzed and obtained. A practical nonlinear thermal comfort prediction model is obtained by using an approximation method. Then, the economic cost function and optimization problem of energy-saving under the necessary thermal comfort requirements are constructed to realize the optimal economic performance of… More >

    G. Rajasekaran1,*, J. Raja Sekar2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 2399-2412, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.029119

Abstract Abnormal behavior detection is challenging and one of the growing research areas in computer vision. The main aim of this research work is to focus on panic and escape behavior detections that occur during unexpected/uncertain events. In this work, Pyramidal Lucas Kanade algorithm is optimized using EMEHOs to achieve the objective. First stage, OPLKT-EMEHOs algorithm is used to generate the optical flow from MIIs. Second stage, the MIIs optical flow is applied as input to 3 layer CNN for detect the abnormal crowd behavior. University of Minnesota (UMN) dataset is used to evaluate the proposed system. The experimental result shows… More >

An Analytical Model for the Thermal Assessment of a Vertical Double U-Tube Ground-Coupled Heat Pump System in Steady-State Conditions

    Ali H. Tarrad*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.4, pp. 1111-1127, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.021541

Abstract An analytical model was built to predict the thermal resistance of a vertical double U-tube ground-coupled heat pump that operates under steady-state conditions. It included a geometry obstruction factor for heat transfer throughout the backfill medium due to the presence of the second loop. The verification of the model was achieved by the implementation of five different borehole configurations and a comparison with other correlations in the available literature. The model considered a U-tube spacing range between (2) and (4) times the U-tube outside diameter producing a geometry configuration factor range of (0.29–0.6). The results of the model were utilized… More >

    R. Kanthavel1,*, R. Dhaya2, Kanagaraj Venusamy3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5783-5798, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.023745

Abstract Knee Osteoarthritis (OA) is a joint disease that is commonly observed in people around the world. Osteoarthritis commonly affects patients who are obese and those above the age of 60. A valid knee image was generated by Computed Tomography (CT). In this work, efficient segmentation of CT images using Elephant Herding Optimization (EHO) optimization is implemented. The initial stage employs, the CT image normalization and the normalized image is incited to image enhancement through histogram correlation. Consequently, the enhanced image is segmented by utilizing Niblack and Bernsen algorithm. The (EHO) optimized outcome is evaluated in two steps. The initial step… More >

Abstract Air pollution is one of the major concerns considering detriments to human health. This type of pollution leads to several health problems for humans, such as asthma, heart issues, skin diseases, bronchitis, lung cancer, and throat and eye infections. Air pollution also poses serious issues to the planet. Pollution from the vehicle industry is the cause of greenhouse effect and CO2 emissions. Thus, real-time monitoring of air pollution in these areas will help local authorities to analyze the current situation of the city and take necessary actions. The monitoring process has become efficient and dynamic with the advancement of the… More >
