Junjie Chen*, Longfei Yan, Wenya Song

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.5, pp. 1-6, 2014, DOI:10.5098/hmt.5.16

Abstract To understand the effect of different thermal conductivities on catalytic combustion characteristics, effect of thermal conductivity on micro-combustion characteristics of hydrogen-air mixtures in Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalytic micro-combustors were investigated numerically with detailed chemical kinetics mechanisms. Three kinds of wall materials (100, 7.5, and 0.5 W/m·K) were selected to investigate the effect of heat conduction on the catalytic combustion. The simulation results indicate that the catalytic reaction restrains the gas phase reaction in Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalytic micro-combustors. The gas phase reaction restrained by Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalysts is sensitive to thermal boundary condition at the wall. For most conditions, the gas phase reaction cannot be… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1837-1854, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.041929

Abstract Trustworthiness and product traceability are essential factors in the apparel industry 4.0 for establishing successful business relationships among stakeholders such as customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and consumers. Each stakeholder has implemented different technology-based systems to record and track product transactions. However, these systems work in silos, and there is no intra-system communication, leading to a lack of complete supply chain traceability for all apparel stakeholders. Moreover, apparel stakeholders are reluctant to share their business information with business competitors; thus, they involve third-party auditors to ensure the quality of the final product. Furthermore, the apparel manufacturing industry faces challenges with counterfeit products,… More >

Abstract In this study, we propose an algorithm selection method based on coupling strength for the partitioned analysis of structure-piezoelectric-circuit coupling, which includes two types of coupling or inverse and direct piezoelectric coupling and direct piezoelectric and circuit coupling. In the proposed method, implicit and explicit formulations are used for strong and weak coupling, respectively. Three feasible partitioned algorithms are generated, namely (1) a strongly coupled algorithm that uses a fully implicit formulation for both types of coupling, (2) a weakly coupled algorithm that uses a fully explicit formulation for both types of coupling, and (3) a partially strongly coupled and… More >
