Detection Collision Flows in SDN Based 5G Using Machine Learning Algorithms

    Aqsa Aqdus1, Rashid Amin1,*, Sadia Ramzan1, Sultan S. Alshamrani2, Abdullah Alshehri3, El-Sayed M. El-kenawy4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1413-1435, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031719

Abstract The rapid advancement of wireless communication is forming a hyper-connected 5G network in which billions of linked devices generate massive amounts of data. The traffic control and data forwarding functions are decoupled in software-defined networking (SDN) and allow the network to be programmable. Each switch in SDN keeps track of forwarding information in a flow table. The SDN switches must search the flow table for the flow rules that match the packets to handle the incoming packets. Due to the obvious vast quantity of data in data centres, the capacity of the flow table restricts the data plane’s forwarding capabilities.… More >

    T. S. Balaji1,2, S. Srinivasan3,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 2189-2203, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.028785

Abstract The vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is an emerging network technology that has gained popularity because to its low cost, flexibility, and seamless services. Software defined networking (SDN) technology plays a critical role in network administration in the future generation of VANET with fifth generation (5G) networks. Regardless of the benefits of VANET, energy economy and traffic control are significant architectural challenges. Accurate and real-time traffic flow prediction (TFP) becomes critical for managing traffic effectively in the VANET. SDN controllers are a critical issue in VANET, which has garnered much interest in recent years. With this objective, this study develops… More >

SAFT-VNDN: A Socially-Aware Forwarding Technique in Vehicular Named Data Networking

    Amel Boudelaa1, Zohra Abdelhafidi1, Nasreddine Lagraa1, Chaker Abdelaziz Kerrache1, Muhammad Bilal2, Daehan Kwak3,*, Mohamed Bachir Yagoubi1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 2495-2512, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.028619

Abstract Vehicular Social Networks (VSNs) is the bridge of social networks and Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs). VSNs are promising as they allow the exchange of various types of contents in large-scale through Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication protocols. Vehicular Named Data Networking (VNDN) is an auspicious communication paradigm for the challenging VSN environment since it can optimize content dissemination by decoupling contents from their physical locations. However, content dissemination and caching represent crucial challenges in VSNs due to short link lifetime and intermittent connectivity caused by vehicles’ high mobility. Our aim with this paper is to improve content delivery and… More >

Detection of Toxic Content on Social Networking Platforms Using Fine Tuned ULMFiT Model

    Hafsa Naveed1, Abid Sohail2, Jasni Mohamad Zain3,*, Noman Saleem4, Rao Faizan Ali5, Shahid Anwar6

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 15-30, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.023277

Abstract Question and answer websites such as Quora, Stack Overflow, Yahoo Answers and Answer Bag are used by professionals. Multiple users post questions on these websites to get the answers from domain specific professionals. These websites are multilingual meaning they are available in many different languages. Current problem for these types of websites is to handle meaningless and irrelevant content. In this paper we have worked on the Quora insincere questions (questions which are based on false assumptions or questions which are trying to make a statement rather than seeking for helpful answers) dataset in order to identify user insincere questions,… More >

Dynamic Threshold-Based Approach to Detect Low-Rate DDoS Attacks on Software-Defined Networking Controller

Mohammad Adnan Aladaileh, Mohammed Anbar*, Iznan H. Hasbullah, Abdullah Ahmed Bahashwan, Shadi Al-Sarawn

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 1403-1416, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.029369

Abstract The emergence of a new network architecture, known as Software Defined Networking (SDN), in the last two decades has overcome some drawbacks of traditional networks in terms of performance, scalability, reliability, security, and network management. However, the SDN is vulnerable to security threats that target its controller, such as low-rate Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, The low-rate DDoS attack is one of the most prevalent attacks that poses a severe threat to SDN network security because the controller is a vital architecture component. Therefore, there is an urgent need to propose a detection approach for this type of attack… More >
