    Abstract In this paper the near tip solutions for interface corners written in terms of the stress intensity factors are presented in a unified expression. This single expression is applicable for any kinds of interface corners including corners and cracks in homogeneous materials as well as interface corners and interface cracks lying between two dissimilar materials, in which the materials can be any kinds of linear elastic anisotropic materials or piezoelectric materials.     Analytical Full-field Solutions of a Piezoelectric Layered Half-plane Subjected to Generalized Loadings

    Abstract The two-dimensional problem of a planar transversely isotropic piezoelectric layered half-plane subjected to generalized line forces and edge dislocations in the layer is analyzed by using the Fourier-transform method and the series expansion technique. The full-field solutions for displacements, stresses, electrical displacements and electric fields are expressed in explicit closed forms. The complete solutions consist only of the simplest solutions for an infinite piezoelectric medium with applied loadings.     Influence of Temperature and High Electric Field on Power Consumption by Piezoelectric Actuated Integrated Structure

    Abstract The influence of electric field and temperature on power consumption of piezoelectric actuated integrated structure is studied by using a single degree of freedom mass-spring-damper system model coupled with a piezoactuator. The material lead zirconate titanate, is considered as it is capable of producing relatively high strains (e.g., 3000με). Actuators are often subject to high electric fields to increase the induced strain produced, resulting in field dependant piezoelectric coefficient d31, dielectric coefficient ε33 and dissipation factor δ.     The Simulation of Diaphragm Deflection Actuated by Shear Mode Piezoelectric Actuator in Microdroplet Ejector

    Abstract A shear mode piezoelectric actuator is applied to deflect the diaphragm of pressure chamber in the droplet ejector or inkjet printhead. The deflection of the bulge-diaphragm and resulting swept volume is analyzed by analytical and numerical method. With free-body treatment of the model, the analytical exact solutions for the two free bodies of bulge-diaphragm and piezoelectric beam were obtained. Also, the numerical solution by ANSYS is obtained to verify the analytical result.
