Abstract Image encryption has attracted much interest as a robust security solution for preventing unauthorized access to critical image data. Medical picture encryption is a crucial step in many cloud-based and healthcare applications. In this study, a strong cryptosystem based on a 2D chaotic map and Jigsaw transformation is presented for the encryption of medical photos in private Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) and cloud storage. A disorganized three-dimensional map is the foundation of the proposed cipher. The dispersion of pixel values and the permutation of their places in this map are accomplished using a nonlinear encoding process. The suggested cryptosystem… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.2, pp. 3011-3026, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.037516

Abstract A substitution box (S-Box) is a crucial component of contemporary cryptosystems that provide data protection in block ciphers. At the moment, chaotic maps are being created and extensively used to generate these S-Boxes as a chaotic map assists in providing disorder and resistance to combat cryptanalytical attempts. In this paper, the construction of a dynamic S-Box using a cipher key is proposed using a novel chaotic map and an innovative tweaking approach. The projected chaotic map and the proposed tweak approach are presented for the first time and the use of parameters in their working makes both of these dynamic… More >

    Hesham Alhumyani*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.3, pp. 2933-2945, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.034689

Abstract This paper introduces an efficient image cryptography system. The proposed image cryptography system is based on employing the two-dimensional (2D) chaotic henon map (CHM) in the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). The proposed DFT-based CHM image cryptography has two procedures which are the encryption and decryption procedures. In the proposed DFT-based CHM image cryptography, the confusion is employed using the CHM while the diffusion is realized using the DFT. So, the proposed DFT-based CHM image cryptography achieves both confusion and diffusion characteristics. The encryption procedure starts by applying the DFT on the image then the DFT transformed image is scrambled using… More >

    Mohammed S. Alshehri1, Sultan Almakdi1,*, Mimonah Al Qathrady2, Jawad Ahmad3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.2, pp. 2401-2414, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.036152

Abstract Chaos-based cryptosystems are considered a secure mode of communication due to their reliability. Chaotic maps are associated with the other domains to construct robust encryption algorithms. There exist numerous encryption schemes in the literature based on chaotic maps. This work aims to propose an attack on a recently proposed hyper-chaotic map-based cryptosystem. The core notion of the original algorithm was based on permutation and diffusion. A bit-level permutation approach was used to do the permutation row-and column-wise. The diffusion was executed in the forward and backward directions. The statistical strength of the cryptosystem has been demonstrated by extensive testing conducted… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.1, pp. 2137-2153, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.036861

Abstract Encryption algorithms are one of the methods to protect data during its transmission through an unsafe transmission medium. But encryption methods need a lot of time during encryption and decryption, so it is necessary to find encryption algorithms that consume little time while preserving the security of the data. In this paper, more than one algorithm was combined to obtain high security with a short implementation time. A chaotic system, DNA computing, and Salsa20 were combined. A proposed 5D chaos system was used to generate more robust keys in a Salsa algorithm and DNA computing. Also, the confusion is performed… More >

Xiaohong Wang, Huiqing Wu, Yuying Ma, Shuzhen Huang*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 1093-1108, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.036652

Abstract With the rapid development of 5G technology, it has become fast and easy for people to transmit information on the Internet. Digital images can express information more intuitively, so transmitting information through images has excellent applications. This paper uses a new chaotic system called 1D-Sin-Logistic-Map (1D-SLM). 1D-SLM has two control parameters, which can provide larger parameter space, and the parameter space in the chaotic state is continuous. Through Lyapunov exponent analysis (LE), bifurcation diagrams analysis, spectral entropy analysis (SE), and 0-1 test, it is verified that 1D-SLM has complex dynamic behavior and is very suitable for cryptography. Compared with other… More >

    Amel Ali Alhussan1,*, Hanaa A. Abdallah2, Sara Alsodairi2, Abdelhamied A. Ateya3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 403-416, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.035048

Abstract Securing medical data while transmission on the network is required because it is sensitive and life-dependent data. Many methods are used for protection, such as Steganography, Digital Signature, Cryptography, and Watermarking. This paper introduces a novel robust algorithm that combines discrete wavelet transform (DWT), discrete cosine transform (DCT), and singular value decomposition (SVD) digital image-watermarking algorithms. The host image is decomposed using a two-dimensional DWT (2D-DWT) to approximate low-frequency sub-bands in the embedding process. Then the sub-band low-high (LH) is decomposed using 2D-DWT to four new sub-bands. The resulting sub-band low-high (LH1) is decomposed using 2D-DWT to four new sub-bands.… More >

Short-Term Power Load Forecasting with Hybrid TPA-BiLSTM Prediction Model Based on CSSA

    Jiahao Wen, Zhijian Wang*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 749-765, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.023865

Abstract Since the existing prediction methods have encountered difficulties in processing the multiple influencing factors in short-term power load forecasting, we propose a bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) neural network model based on the temporal pattern attention (TPA) mechanism. Firstly, based on the grey relational analysis, datasets similar to forecast day are obtained. Secondly, the bidirectional LSTM layer models the data of the historical load, temperature, humidity, and date-type and extracts complex relationships between data from the hidden row vectors obtained by the BiLSTM network, so that the influencing factors (with different characteristics) can select relevant information from different time steps… More >
