    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.24, No.3, pp. 653-661, 2018, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000032

Abstract Concept learning has attracted considerable attention as a means to tackle problems of representation and learning corpus knowledge. In this paper, we investigate a challenging problem to automatically construct a patent concept learning model. Our model consists of two main processes; which is the acquisition of the initial concept graph and refined process for the initial concept graph. The learning algorithm of a patent concept graph is designed based on the Association Link Network (ALN). A concept is usually described by multiple documents utilizing ALN here in concept learning. We propose a mixture-ALN, which add links between documents and the… More >

Enhancing Embedding-Based Chinese Word Similarity Evaluation with Concepts and Synonyms Knowledge

Fulian Yin, Yanyan Wang, Jianbo Liu*, Meiqi Ji

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.124, No.2, pp. 747-764, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.010579

Abstract Word similarity (WS) is a fundamental and critical task in natural language processing. Existing approaches to WS are mainly to calculate the similarity or relatedness of word pairs based on word embedding obtained by massive and high-quality corpus. However, it may suffer from poor performance for insuf- ficient corpus in some specific fields, and cannot capture rich semantic and sentimental information. To address these above problems, we propose an enhancing embedding-based word similarity evaluation with character-word concepts and synonyms knowledge, namely EWS-CS model, which can provide extra semantic information to enhance word similarity evaluation. The core of our approach contains… More >

Improving Chinese Word Representation with Conceptual Semantics

    Tingxin Wei1, 2, Weiguang Qu2, 3, *, Junsheng Zhou3, Yunfei Long4, Yanhui Gu3, Zhentao Xia3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.3, pp. 1897-1913, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010813

Abstract The meaning of a word includes a conceptual meaning and a distributive meaning. Word embedding based on distribution suffers from insufficient conceptual semantic representation caused by data sparsity, especially for low-frequency words. In knowledge bases, manually annotated semantic knowledge is stable and the essential attributes of words are accurately denoted. In this paper, we propose a Conceptual Semantics Enhanced Word Representation (CEWR) model, computing the synset embedding and hypernym embedding of Chinese words based on the Tongyici Cilin thesaurus, and aggregating it with distributed word representation to have both distributed information and the conceptual meaning encoded in the representation of… More >

New Concept to Non-Invasively Screen Iron Deficiency in Patients

    Ali E. Dabiri1,2,*, Erik Samwel3, Ghassan S. Kassab1

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.17, No.2, pp. 75-83, 2020, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2020.08775

Abstract Nearly two billion people are afflicted with iron deficiency and approximately 300 million children globally have anemia. Most of those affected are unaware of their lack of iron, in part because detection of iron deficiency requires a blood test. It is becoming increasingly important to screen these individuals to reduce medical cost and avoid chronic disease conditions. There are limited settings of laboratory infrastructure for standard blood-based tests around the world to routinely accomplish this important screening test. We propose a new concept to use either human hair or nail as a screening method to detect steady state iron content… More >

New Concept in Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA)

    Ali. E. Dabiri1,2,*, Matthew Martin3, Ghassan S. Kassab1

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.17, No.1, pp. 25-31, 2020, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2019.07310

Abstract The world-wide impact of traumatic injury and associated hemorrhage on human health and well-being is significant. Methods to manage bleeding from sites within the torso, referred to as non-compressible torso hemorrhage (NCTH), remain largely limited to the use of conventional operative techniques. The overall mortality rate of patients with NCTH is approximately 50%. Studies from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have suggested that up to 80% of potentially survivable patients die as a result of uncontrolled exsanguinating hemorrhage. The commercially available resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) is a percutaneous device for the rapid control of torso… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.2, pp. 893-904, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.06216

Abstract Web Services Choreography Description Language lacks a formal system to accurately express the semantics of service behaviors and verify the correctness of a service choreography model. This paper presents a new approach of choreography model verification based on Description Logic. A meta model of service choreography is built to provide a conceptual framework to capture the formal syntax and semantics of service choreography. Based on the framework, a set of rules and constraints are defined in Description Logic for choreography model verification. To automate model verification, the UML-based service choreography model will be transformed, by the given algorithms, into the… More >

Conceptual Modular Design of Auto Body Frame Based on Hybrid Optimization Method

    Yonghong Zhao1, Changsheng Wang2, Huanquan Yuan1, Yongcheng Li1, Chunlai Shan2, Wenbin Hou2, *

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.122, No.1, pp. 351-376, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.08058

Abstract This article presents a systematic research methodology of modular design for conceptual auto body frame by hybrid optimization method. A modified graph-based decomposition optimization algorithm is utilized to generate an optimal BIW assembly topo model composed of “potential modules”. The consistency constraint function in collaborative optimization is extended to maximize the commonality of modules and minimize the performance loss of all car types in the same product family simultaneously. A novel screening method is employed to select both “basic structures” and “reinforcement” modules based on the dimension optimization of the manufacturing elements and the optimal assembly mode; this allows for… More >
