    Lei Wang1, Jian Liu1,*, Alan Yang2

Journal of Information Hiding and Privacy Protection, Vol.1, No.3, pp. 119-133, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jihpp.2019.07296

Abstract In this paper, we study the state-dependent interference channel, where the Rayleigh channel is non-causally known at cognitive network. We propose an active secondary transmission mechanism with interference cancellation technique according to the ON-OFF status of primary network. the secondary transmission mechanism is divided into four cases according to the active state of the primary user in the two time slots. For these interference cases, numerical results are provided to show that active interference cancellation mechanism significantly reduces the secondary transmission performance in terms of secondary outage probability and energy efficiency. CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.121, No.1, pp. 83-103, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.06897

Abstract The wireless sensor network (WSN) is widely employed in the application scenarios of the Internet of Things (IoT) in recent years. Extending the lifetime of the entire system had become a significant challenge due to the energy-constrained fundamental limits of sensor nodes on the perceptual layer of IoT. The clustering routing structures are currently the most popular solution, which can effectively reduce the energy consumption of the entire network and improve its reliability. This paper introduces an enhanced hybrid intelligential algorithm based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) and ant colony optimization (ACO) method. The enhanced PSO is deployed to select… More >

Bokyun Jo1, Md. Jalil Piran2,*, Daeho Lee3, Doug Young Suh4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.61, No.2, pp. 439-463, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.08194

Abstract In this paper, we investigate video quality enhancement using computation offloading to the mobile cloud computing (MCC) environment. Our objective is to reduce the computational complexity required to covert a low-resolution video to high-resolution video while minimizing computation at the mobile client and additional communication costs. To do so, we propose an energy-efficient computation offloading framework for video streaming services in a MCC over the fifth generation (5G) cellular networks. In the proposed framework, the mobile client offloads the computational burden for the video enhancement to the cloud, which renders the side information needed to enhance video without requiring much… More >

Bo Mi Lee, In-Ho Kim, Hyung-Jo Jung

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 19-20, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.019.019

Abstract Vibration energy harvesting, which converts ambient vibration energy into electrical energy, has been an attractive energy scavenging technique to power wireless sensors or low power devices. Even though vibration energy harvesting has drawbacks which are relatively low harvested power and narrow bandwidth, vibration energy scavenging is one of the promising alternative power techniques in that MEMS techniques can be applied to microminiaturize the system. Therefore, many researches have been done to overcome these problems(Lee et al.2010). This paper presents improvement efficiency on piezoelectric vibration energy harvesting device to surmount issues of vibration energy harvesting. Numerical simulation and experimental test are… More >

Min Ki Kim1, Seung Jo Kim2

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.12, No.2, pp. 52-52, 2009, DOI:10.3970/icces.2009.012.052

Abstract A new concept of hybrid iterative-multifrontal linear solution method is presented for large scale structural analysis problems. Multifrontal solution method is the best direct solution method ever known, so it is adequate for Domain decompostion types of iterative solvers. Multifrontal solver is served as an internal subdomain solver for domain decomposition iterative solver for achieving high performance of domain decomposition iterative solver. Lagrange multiplier is introduced to enforce the continuity of interface between subdomains. And corner DOF is introduced to avoid singularities of subdomains. Hybrid solution method is expected to show good parallel performance for extremely large size structural analysis. More >
