    M.R. Moosavi1, A. Khelil1

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.5, No.4, pp. 211-238, 2008, DOI:10.3970/icces.2008.005.211

Abstract In this paper, a combined formulation of the Finite Volume Method (FVM) and the Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) is investigated to solve elasto-static problem. Accuracy and computational efficiency study between the combined formulation and the Finite Element Method (FEM) is presented. Some problems of beam under various loading and boundary conditions are analyzed by the proposed method, and the numerical results are compared with analytical solution and result of other numerical method which is obtained by well-known FEM software ABAQUS. The advantages of the FVM combined MLPG (FVMLPG) with respect to the FEM are illustrated. Higher accuracies and computational efficiencies… More >

On the efficiency of generic BE substructuring algorithms based on Krylov solvers

    F.C. Araújo1, L.J. Gray2

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.2, No.2, pp. 41-46, 2007, DOI:10.3970/icces.2007.002.041

Abstract This paper is concerned with the solution of boundary-element models based on substructuring. Structured matrix-vector products and the matrix-copy option are proposed to increase the efficiency of algorithms based on Krylov solvers. The former technique was designed to avoid the excessive number of conditional tests during solver iterations, and the latter one, to avoid the repeated calculation of coefficient matrices for identical subregions. Potential applications of the algorithm to composite materials, and to develop parallel codes, are noted. More >

    Mohammad Behrouzian Nejad1, Mohammad Ebrahim Shiri Ahmadabadi1, 2, *

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.119, No.1, pp. 185-205, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.01838

Abstract The main target of this paper is presentation of an efficient method for MRI images classification so that it can be used to diagnose patients and non-patients. Image classification is one of the prominent subset topics of machine learning and data mining that the most important image technique is the auto-categorization of images. MRI images with high resolution and appropriate accuracy allow physicians to decide on the diagnosis of various diseases and treat them. The auto categorization of MRI images toward diagnosing brain diseases has been being used to accurately diagnose hospitals, clinics, physicians and medical research centers. In this… More >

    Qi Liu1,2, Zhiyun Yang1, Xiaodong Liu3, Scholas Mbonihankuye4,*

    Journal of New Media, Vol.1, No.2, pp. 101-113, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2019.06958

Abstract This paper aims to study energy consumption in a house. Home energy man-agement system (HEMS) has become very important, because energy consumption of a residential sector accounts for a significant amount of total energy consumption. However, a conventional HEMS has some architectural limitations among dimensional variables reusability and interoperability. Furthermore, the cost of implementation in HEMS is very expensive, which leads to the disturbance of the spread of a HEMS. Therefore, this study proposes an Internet of Things (IoT) based HEMS with lightweight photovoltaic (PV) system over dynamic home area networks (DHANs), which enables the construction of a HEMS to… More >

EIAS: An Efficient Identity-Based Aggregate Signature Scheme for WSNs Against Coalition Attack

    Yong Xie1, Fang Xu2, Xiang Li1, Songsong Zhang1, Xiaodan Zhang1,*, Muhammad Israr3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.59, No.3, pp. 903-924, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05309

Abstract Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are the major contributors to big data acquisition. The authenticity and integrity of the data are two most important basic requirements for various services based on big data. Data aggregation is a promising method to decrease operation cost for resource-constrained WSNs. However, the process of data acquisitions in WSNs are in open environments, data aggregation is vulnerable to more special security attacks with hiding feature and subjective fraudulence, such as coalition attack. Aimed to provide data authenticity and integrity protection for WSNs, an efficient and secure identity-based aggregate signature scheme (EIAS) is proposed in this paper.… More >

    Zhiguo Qu1,*, Shengyao Wu2, Wenjie Liu1, Xiaojun Wang3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.59, No.2, pp. 607-624, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.02656

Abstract In the field of quantum communication, quantum steganography is an important branch of quantum information hiding. In a realistic quantum communication system, quantum noises are unavoidable and will seriously impact the safety and reliability of the quantum steganographic system. Therefore, it is very important to analyze the influence of noise on the quantum steganography protocol and how to reduce the effect of noise. This paper takes the quantum steganography protocol proposed in 2010 as an example to analyze the effects of noises on information qubits and secret message qubits in the four primary quantum noise environments. The results show that… More >

Development of 3D Trefftz Voronoi Cells with Ellipsoidal Voids &/or Elastic/Rigid Inclusions for Micromechanical Modeling of Heterogeneous Materials

    Leiting Dong1, Satya N. Atluri11

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.30, No.1, pp. 39-82, 2012, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2012.030.039

Abstract In this paper, as an extension to the authors's work in [Dong and Atluri (2011a,b, 2012a,b,c)], three-dimensional Trefftz Voronoi Cells (TVCs) with ellipsoidal voids/inclusions are developed for micromechanical modeling of heterogeneous materials. Several types of TVCs are developed, depending on the types of heterogeneity in each Voronoi Cell(VC). Each TVC can include alternatively an ellipsoidal void, an ellipsoidal elastic inclusion, or an ellipsoidal rigid inclusion. In all of these cases, an inter-VC compatible displacement field is assumed at each surface of the polyhedral VC, with Barycentric coordinates as nodal shape functions. The Trefftz trial displacement fields in each VC are… More >

Several types of VCFEMs are developed, depending on the types of heterogeneity in each element. Each VCFEM can include alternatively a spherical void, a spherical elastic inclusion, a spherical rigid inclusion, or no voids/inclusions at all.In all of these cases, an inter-element compatible displacement field is assumed at each surface of the polyhedral element, with Barycentric coordinates as nodal shape functions. The T-Trefftz trial displacement fields in each element are expressed in terms of the Papkovich-Neuber solution. Spherical harmonics are used as the Papkovich-Neuber… More >

A PSO based Energy Efficient Coverage Control Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

    Jin Wang1,2, Chunwei Ju2, Yu Gao2, Arun Kumar Sangaiah3, Gwang-jun Kim4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.56, No.3, pp. 433-446, 2018, DOI: 10.3970/cmc.2018.04132

Abstract Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are large-scale and high-density networks that typically have coverage area overlap. In addition, a random deployment of sensor nodes cannot fully guarantee coverage of the sensing area, which leads to coverage holes in WSNs. Thus, coverage control plays an important role in WSNs. To alleviate unnecessary energy wastage and improve network performance, we consider both energy efficiency and coverage rate for WSNs. In this paper, we present a novel coverage control algorithm based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Firstly, the sensor nodes are randomly deployed in a target area and remain static after deployment. Then, the… More >
