    Mir Subzar1, Amer Ibrahim Al-Omari2, Ayed R. A. Alanzi3, *

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.1, pp. 125-138, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010230

Abstract The ordinary least square (OLS) method is commonly used in regression analysis. But in the presence of outlier in the data, its results are unreliable. Hence, the robust regression methods have been suggested for a long time as alternatives to the OLS to solve the outliers problem. In the present study, new ratio type estimators of finite population mean are suggested using simple random sampling without replacement (SRSWOR) utilizing the supplementary information in Bowley’s coefficient of skewness with quartiles. For these proposed estimators, we have used the OLS, Huber-M, Mallows GM-estimate, Schweppe GM-estimate, and SIS GM-estimate methods for estimating the… More >

Jinlan Xu*, Ningning Sun, Gang Xu

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.124, No.2, pp. 627-642, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.010341

Abstract This paper presents a novel approximating method to construct highprecision single-patch representation of B-spline surface from a multi-patch representation for isogeometric applications. In isogeometric analysis, multi-patch structure is not easy to achieve high continuity between neighboring patches which will reduce the advantage of isogeometric analysis in a sense. The proposed method can achieve high continuity at surface stitching region with low geometric error, and this technique exploits constructing the approximate surface with several control points are from original surfaces, which guarantees the local feature of the surface can be well-preserved with high precision. With the proposed approximating method, isogeometric analysis… More >

    Journal of Cyber Security, Vol.2, No.2, pp. 63-68, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jcs.2020.07229

Abstract Mobile crowdsensing is a new paradigm with powerful performance for data collection through a large number of smart devices. It is essential to obtain high quality data in crowdsensing campaign. Most of the existing specs ignore users’ diversity, focus on solving complicated optimization problem, and consider devices as instances of intelligent software agents which can make reasonable choices on behalf of users. Thus, the efficiency and quality of contributed data cannot be preserved simultaneously. In this paper, we propose a new scheme for improving the quality of contributed data, which recommends tasks to users based on calculated score that jointly… More >

    Tatiana Eutukhova1, Oleksandr Kovalko2, Oleksandr Novoseltsev3,*, Eric Woodroof4

    Energy Engineering, Vol.117, No.3, pp. 99-110, 2020, DOI:10.32604/EE.2020.010864

Abstract Energy services markets are actively developing around the world, but their growth rates need to be accelerated in order to help the world meet energy policy goals. One barrier to energy services markets is confusion created from different terminology used in different parts of the world. In this context, various definitions of the term “energy services” have been analyzed in this paper and it has been recommended to distinguish between “energy services” and “energy-related services”. The structural and functional features of the energy services market conceptual design and its implementation models, as well as the use of energy service companies… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.2, pp. 813-834, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010934

Abstract Cloud computing infrastructure has been evolving as a cost-effective platform for providing computational resources in the form of high-performance computing as a service (HPCaaS) to users for executing HPC applications. However, the broader use of the Cloud services, the rapid increase in the size, and the capacity of Cloud data centers bring a remarkable rise in energy consumption leading to a significant rise in the system provider expenses and carbon emissions in the environment. Besides this, users have become more demanding in terms of Quality-of-service (QoS) expectations in terms of execution time, budget cost, utilization, and makespan. This situation calls… More >

    Jiyuan Zhang1, Linbo Wang1, Chengqiang Zhang1, Shuzhan Bai2,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.16, No.3, pp. 615-621, 2020, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2020.09654

Abstract The influences of steam and sulfide on the efficiency of NOx reduction using ammonia (NH3) over the nanometer-class V-W/Ti catalyst in conditions of high temperature is experimentally investigated using a steady-flow reactor. The results showed that selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is inhibited by H2O at low temperature, but higher NO conversion efficiency is achieved at high temperature since the reaction of NH3 oxidized by O2 to NOx is inhibited by H2O. The activity of SCR is promoted by SO2 in the temperature range of 200~500° C, the NO conversion efficiency was improved to 98% from 94% by adding SO2. SCR… More >
