An Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System to Improve Fractional Order Controller Performance

    N. Kanagaraj*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.3, pp. 3213-3226, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.029901 - 17 August 2022

Abstract The design and analysis of a fractional order proportional integral derivate (FOPID) controller integrated with an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is proposed in this study. A first order plus delay time plant model has been used to validate the ANFIS combined FOPID control scheme. In the proposed adaptive control structure, the intelligent ANFIS was designed such that it will dynamically adjust the fractional order factors (λ and µ) of the FOPID (also known as PIλDµ) controller to achieve better control performance. When the plant experiences uncertainties like external load disturbances or sudden changes in the… More >

    I. Adumbabu1,*, K. Selvakumar2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 1939-1956, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.029489 - 19 July 2022

Abstract A wireless sensor network (WSN) is made up of sensor nodes that communicate via radio waves in order to conduct sensing functions. In WSN, the location of the base station is critical. Although base stations are fixed, they may move in response to data received from sensor nodes under specific conditions. Clustering is a highly efficient approach of minimising energy use. The issues of extending the life of WSNs and optimising their energy consumption have been addressed in this paper. It has been established that integrating mobile sinks into wireless sensor networks extends their longevity.… More >

    R. Hemalatha1,*, M. Ramasamy2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 1505-1525, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.026301 - 19 July 2022

Abstract In recent day’s power distribution system is distress from acute power quality issues. In this work, for compensating Power Quality (PQ) disturbances a seven level cascaded H-bridge inverter is implemented in distribution static compensator which protects power quality problems in currents. Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) aid to enhances power factor and removes total harmonic distortion which is drawn from non-linear load. The D–Q reference theory based hysteresis current controller is employed to generate reference current for compensation of harmonics and reactive power, additionally Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) classifier is used which easily separates exact harmonics. P. Rahul1,*, N. Kanthimathi1, B. Kaarthick2, M. Leeban Moses1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.2, pp. 1583-1600, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.027424 - 15 June 2022

Abstract Recently, the fundamental problem with Hybrid Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (H-MANETs) is to find a suitable and secure way of balancing the load through Internet gateways. Moreover, the selection of the gateway and overload of the network results in packet loss and Delay (DL). For optimal performance, it is important to load balance between different gateways. As a result, a stable load balancing procedure is implemented, which selects gateways based on Fuzzy Logic (FL) and increases the efficiency of the network. In this case, since gateways are selected based on the number of nodes, the Energy More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.2, pp. 1419-1432, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.027377 - 15 June 2022

Abstract Accurate soil prediction is a vital parameter involved to decide appropriate crop, which is commonly carried out by the farmers. Designing an automated soil prediction tool helps to considerably improve the efficacy of the farmers. At the same time, fuzzy logic (FL) approaches can be used for the design of predictive models, particularly, Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) have involved the concept of uncertainty representation and cognitive mapping. In other words, the FCM is an integration of the recurrent neural network (RNN) and FL involved in the knowledge engineering phase. In this aspect, this paper introduces… More >

Frequency Control Approach and Load Forecasting Assessment for Wind Systems

    K. Sukanya*, P. Vijayakumar

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 971-982, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.028047 - 06 June 2022

Abstract Frequency deviation has to be controlled in power generation units when there are fluctuations in system frequency. With several renewable energy sources, wind energy forecasting is majorly focused in this work which is a tough task due to its variations and uncontrollable nature. Whenever there is a mismatch between generation and demand, the frequency deviation may arise from the actual frequency 50 Hz (in India). To mitigate the frequency deviation issue, it is necessary to develop an effective technique for better frequency control in wind energy systems. In this work, heuristic Fuzzy Logic Based Controller… More >

Abstract Wireless sensor network (WSN) plays a vital part in real time tracking and data collection applications. WSN incorporates a set of numerous sensor nodes (SNs) commonly utilized to observe the target region. The SNs operate using an inbuilt battery and it is not easier to replace or charge it. Therefore, proper utilization of available energy in the SNs is essential to prolong the lifetime of the WSN. In this study, an effective Type-II Fuzzy Logic with Butterfly Optimization Based Route Selection (TFL-BOARS) has been developed for clustered WSN. The TFL-BOARS technique intends to optimally select… More >
