    Xiangxi Du1,*, Muyun Liu2, Yanhua Sun1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.2, pp. 303-312, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.016242

Abstract The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technology is analyzed and calculated utilizing the turbulence model and multiphase flow model to explore the performance of internal circulating fluidized beds (ICFB) based on CFD. The three-dimensional simulation method can study the hydrodynamic properties of the ICFB, and the performance of the fluidized bed is optimized. The fluidization performance of the ICFB is improved through the experimental study of the cross-shaped baffle. Then, through the cross-shaped baffle and funnel-shaped baffle placement, the fluidized bed reaches a coupled optimization. The results show that CFD simulation technology can effectively improve the mass transfer efficiency and performance… More >

    Jiao Wang1,*, Xihua Chu2,*, Jinbao Wang3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.130, No.2, pp. 653-670, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.018207

Abstract Common structures in engineering such as slopes, roadbeds, ballasts, etc., are closely related to granular materials. They are usually subjected to long-term cyclic loads. This study mainly focused on the mechanical behaviors of randomly arranged granular materials before they reach a stable state under different cyclic loads. The variation of the maximum axial strain and the influence of CSR (cyclic stress ratio) were analyzed. The energy consumed in each cycle under constant confining stress loading condition is significantly greater than that of the fixed wall loading condition. The internal deformation evolution of granular materials is studied in detail. The deformation… More >

    Do-kyeong Lee1, Tae-won Kim2, Yoo-joo Choi2, Min Hong3,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.3, pp. 1541-1556, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.020674

Abstract In real-time contents, such as games and interactive simulators, it is very important to reduce the amount of simulation computation of 3D deformable objects. Although position-based dynamics has been proposed to reduce the amount of computation, the number of nodes for the tetrahedral model to represent a volumetric deformable object has to be increased, which makes the real-time simulation difficult. Therefore, this paper proposes an Internal shape preserving constraint(ISPC) generation algorithm integrated into the position-based dynamics to represent the physical properties of the 3D volumetric deformable object, while reducing the number of nodes filling the interior of the object. Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.42, No.1, pp. 69-86, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.020120

Abstract Generally, road transport is a major energy-consuming sector. Fuel consumption of each vehicle is an important factor that affects the overall energy consumption, driving behavior and vehicle characteristic are the main factors affecting the change of vehicle fuel consumption. It is difficult to analyze the influence of fuel consumption with multiple and complex factors. The Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) approach was employed to develop a vehicle fuel consumption model based on multivariate input. The ANFIS network was constructed by various experiments based on the ANFIS Parameter setting. The performance of the ANFIS network was validated using Root Mean Square… More >

    Jin Yang1,2, Wen Liang1, Xingyang He1,2,*, Ying Su1,2, Fulong Wang1, Tie Wang1, Jianxiang Huang1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.1, pp. 15-27, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.018135

Abstract A solution polymerization method has been used to synthesize a polyacrylic-type superabsorbent polymer (SAP). The influence of various influential factors, such as the temperature, neutralization degree, cross-linking agent, and initiator, on the water absorption capacity of SAP has been investigated. The results show that the absorption can display a non-monotonic behavior depending on the synthesis conditions. The absorption can also change according to the pH, ion types and ion concentration. As the pH value increases, the water absorption capacity decreases significantly. It also decreases if the Na+ concentration becomes higher and becomes particularly low in solutions containing Mg2+. With the… More >

    Mohamed Omri1,*, Yusuf Al-Turki2, Ahmed A. Alghamdi1, Amrid Amnache3, Luc G. Fréchette3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 961-977, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021406

Abstract In this paper, three-dimensional flows in laminar subsonic cascades at relatively low Reynolds numbers (Re < 2500) are presented, based on numerical calculations. The stator and rotor blade designs are those for a MEMS-based Rankine microturbine power-plant-on-a-chip with 109-micron chord blades. Blade passage calculations in 3D were done for different Reynolds numbers, tip clearances (from 0 to 20%) and incidences (0° to 15°) to determine the impact of aerodynamic conditions on the flow patterns. These conditions are applied to a blade passage for a stationary outer casing. The 3D blade passage without tip clearance indicates the presence of two large… More >

The Multi-Objective Optimization of AFPM Generators with Double-Sided Internal Stator Structures for Vertical Axis Wind Turbines

    Dandan Song1,*, Lianjun Zhou1, Ziqi Peng2, Senhua Luo2, Jun Zhu3

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.5, pp. 1439-1452, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.015011

Abstract The axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) generator with double-sided internal stator structure is highly suitable for vertical axis wind turbines due to its high power density. The performance of the AFPM generator with double-sided internal stator structure can be improved by the reasonable design of electromagnetic parameters. To further improve the overall performance of the AFPM generator with double-sided internal stator structure, multivariable (coil width ωc, permanent magnet thickness h, pole arc coefficient αp and working air gap lg) and multi-objective (generator efficiency η, total harmonic distortion of the voltage THD and induced electromotive force amplitude EMF) functional relationships are… More >

    Zejun Yang1, Denghui Xia1, Jin Liu1, Chao Zheng2, Yanzhen Qu1,3,4, Yadang Chen1, Chengjun Zhang1,2,3,*

    Journal on Internet of Things, Vol.3, No.2, pp. 65-76, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jiot.2021.015401

Abstract Collaborative filtering algorithms (CF) and mass diffusion (MD) algorithms have been successfully applied to recommender systems for years and can solve the problem of information overload. However, both algorithms suffer from data sparsity, and both tend to recommend popular products, which have poor diversity and are not suitable for real life. In this paper, we propose a user internal similarity-based recommendation algorithm (UISRC). UISRC first calculates the item-item similarity matrix and calculates the average similarity between items purchased by each user as the user’s internal similarity. The internal similarity of users is combined to modify the recommendation score to make… More >

    Jialiang Zhang1, Shumei He1, Tongjing Liu2,*, Tianlu Ni1, Jian Zhou2,3, Fang Huang1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.17, No.5, pp. 931-946, 2021, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2021.015638

Abstract During the displacement of water plugging with binary flooding in internally heterogeneous reservoirs, it is essential to understand the distributions of remaining oil as well as the oil displacement mechanisms at different stages. In this study, two types of internally heterogeneous systems, i.e., vertical and horizontal wells are investigated experimentally through a microscopic approach. The results show that plugging agent types have a greater impact on oil recovery than well types, and foam injection can enhance oil recovery more effectively than gel injection. Additionally, the injection sequence of plugging agents significantly affects oil displacement efficiency. Injecting gel after foam is… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.90, No.4, pp. 1247-1258, 2021, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2021.014232

Abstract Soil fungi are extremely important for maintaining soil health and plant production in agricultural systems. Currently, the effect of continuous cropping of sweet potato on soil fungal communities and physiochemical parameters has not been well documented. In the present study, four sweet potato fields consecutively monocultured for 1, 2, 3, and 4 years were selected to investigate the effect of monoculture on soil fungal communities through Illumina MiSeq sequencing. Continuous cropping of sweet potatoes dramatically altered the fungal community composition, whereas fungal diversity was almost unchanged. Ascomycota and Basidiomycota were the most abundant phyla in all soil samples, accounting for… More >
