    Ahmed M. Elmogy1,2,*, Wael M. Elawady2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 385-400, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.032349

Abstract One of the great concerns when tackling nonlinear systems is how to design a robust controller that is able to deal with uncertainty. Many researchers have been working on developing such type of controllers. One of the most efficient techniques employed to develop such controllers is sliding mode control (SMC). However, the low order SMC suffers from chattering problem which harm the actuators of the control system and thus unsuitable to be used in many practical applications. In this paper, the drawbacks of low order traditional sliding mode control (FOTSMC) are resolved by presenting a novel adaptive radial basis function… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 745-760, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.028011

Abstract Interacting The highest storage capacity of a circular tank makes it popular in process industries. Because of the varying surface area of the cross-sections of the tank, this two-tank level system has nonlinear characteristics. Controlling the flow rate of liquid is one of the most difficult challenges in the production process. This proposed effort is critical in preventing time delays and errors by managing the fluid level. Several scholars have explored and explored ways to reduce the problem of nonlinearity, but their techniques have not yielded better results. Different types of controllers with various techniques are implemented by the proposed… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1735-1748, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.032950

Abstract The motive of these investigations is to provide the importance and significance of the fractional order (FO) derivatives in the nonlinear environmental and economic (NEE) model, i.e., FO-NEE model. The dynamics of the NEE model achieves more precise by using the form of the FO derivative. The investigations through the non-integer and nonlinear mathematical form to define the FO-NEE model are also provided in this study. The composition of the FO-NEE model is classified into three classes, execution cost of control, system competence of industrial elements and a new diagnostics technical exclusion cost. The mathematical FO-NEE system is numerically studied… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 559-573, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031871

Abstract The goal of this research is to introduce the simulation studies of the vector-host disease nonlinear system (VHDNS) along with the numerical treatment of artificial neural networks (ANNs) techniques supported by Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation (LMQBP), known as ANNs-LMQBP. This mechanism is physically appropriate, where the number of infected people is increasing along with the limited health services. Furthermore, the biological effects have fading memories and exhibit transition behavior. Initially, the model is developed by considering the two and three categories for the humans and the vector species. The VHDNS is constructed with five classes, susceptible humans , infected humans , recovered… More >

Nonlinear Electrical Impedance Tomography Method Using a Complete Electrode Model for the Characterization of Heterogeneous Domains

Jeongwoo Park, Bong-Gu Jung, Jun Won Kang*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.3, pp. 1707-1735, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.020926

Abstract This paper presents an electrical impedance tomography (EIT) method using a partial-differential-equation-constrained optimization approach. The forward problem in the inversion framework is described by a complete electrode model (CEM), which seeks the electric potential within the domain and at surface electrodes considering the contact impedance between them. The finite element solution of the electric potential has been validated using a commercial code. The inverse medium problem for reconstructing the unknown electrical conductivity profile is formulated as an optimization problem constrained by the CEM. The method seeks the optimal solution of the domain’s electrical conductivity to minimize a Lagrangian functional consisting… More >

    Wajaree Weera1, Zulqurnain Sabir2, Muhammad Asif Zahoor Raja3, Sakda Noinang4, Thongchai Botmart1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.3, pp. 4833-4849, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.030888

Abstract The purpose of this research is to construct an integrated neuro swarming scheme using the procedures of the artificial neural networks (ANNs) with the use of global search particle swarm optimization (PSO) along with the competent local search interior-point programming (IPP) called as ANN-PSOIPP. The proposed computational scheme is implemented for the numerical simulations of the third order nonlinear delay differential Emden-Fowler model (TON-DD-EFM). The TON-DD-EFM is based on two types along with the particulars of shape factor, delayed terms, and singular points. A merit function is performed using the optimization of PSOIPP to find the solutions to the TON-DD-EFM.… More >

Abstract The fiber nonlinearity and phase noise (PN) are the focused impairments in the optical communication system, induced by high-capacity transmission and high laser input power. The channels include high-capacity transmissions that cannot be achieved at the end side without aliasing because of fiber nonlinearity and PN impairments. Thus, addressing of these distortions is the basic objective for the 5G mobile network. In this paper, the fiber nonlinearity and PN are investigated using the assembled methodology of millimeter-wave and radio over fiber (mmWave-RoF). The analytical model is designed in terms of outage probability for the proposed mmWave-RoF system. The performance of… More >

Remote sensing images contain abundant ground object information and it can be used in urban planning, agricultural monitoring, ecological services, geological exploration and other aspects. In this paper, we propose a lightweight model combining vgg-16 and u-net network. By combining two convolutional neural networks, we classify scenes of remote sensing images. While ensuring the accuracy of the model, try to reduce the memory of the model. According to the experimental results of this paper, we have improved the accuracy of the model to 98%. The… More >

Nonlinear Vibration Analysis of Horizontal Bi-Directional Restoring Force Characteristics for Seismic Isolated Laminated Rubber

    Ayumi Takahashi1,*, Kenya Kashiwagi2, Tomoyuki Tsuchiya2, Kazuhito Misaji1

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.24, No.1, pp. 1-1, 2022, DOI:10.32604/icces.2022.08705

Abstract As a characteristic of seismic isolated laminated rubber, the rubber is torsional deformed when it was loaded in horizontal bi-direction, and breaks with less force than when loaded in unidirectional. It is necessary to extend the model which has been used for unidirectional analysis to the model which can be analyzed in bi-direction. As a previous study, Igarashi applied the Multiple Shear Springs (MSS) model which is a horizontal bi-directional model, and compared them with measured values to verify their validity [1]. The authors extended PFT-ELS method to MSS model which can analyze bidirection [2]. The ELS method is a… More >
