    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.132, No.1, pp. 295-317, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019996

    Abstract

The development and utilization of large-scale distributed power generation and the increase of impact loads represented by electric locomotives and new energy electric vehicles have brought great challenges to the stable operation of the regional power grid. To improve the prediction accuracy of power systems with source-load two-terminal uncertainties, an adaptive cubature Kalman filter algorithm based on improved initial noise covariance matrix Q0 is proposed in this paper. In the algorithm, the Q0 is used to offset the modeling error, and solves the problem of large voltage amplitude and phase fluctuation of the source-load two-terminal uncertain systems. Verification of the… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.3, pp. 907-928, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.019627

Abstract In the marine electric power system, the marine generators will be disturbed by the large change of loads or the fault of the power system. The marine generators usually installed power system stabilizers to damp power system oscillations through the excitation control. This paper proposes a novel method to obtain optimal parameter values for Power System Stabilizer (PSS) to suppress low-frequency oscillations in the marine electric power system. In this paper, a newly developed immune clone selection algorithm was improved from the three aspects of the adaptive incentive degree, vaccination, and adaptive mutation strategies. Firstly, the typical PSS implementation type… More >

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.3, pp. 815-833, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.019626

    Abstract

The thermo-economic performance of a gas turbine is simulated using a fish bone technique to characterize the major equipment failure causes. Moreover a fault tree analysis and a Pareto technique are implemented to identify the related failure modes, and the percentage and frequency of failures, respectively. A pump 101 and drier 301 belonging to the Tabriz Petrochemical Company are considered for such analysis, which is complemented with a regression method to determine a behavioral model of this equipment over a twenty-year period. Research findings indicate that 81% of major failure factors in production equipment are related to the executive procedures… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.2, pp. 723-737, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.015982

Abstract Although the Combined Cooing, Heating and Power System (hereinafter referred to as “CCHP”) improves the capacity utilization rate and energy utilization efficiency, single use of CCHP system cannot realize dynamic matching between supply and demand loads due to the unbalance features of the user’s cooling and heating loads. On the basis of user convenience and wide applicability of clean air energy, this paper tries to put forward a coupled CCHP system with combustion gas turbine and ASHP ordered power by heat, analyze trends of such parameters as gas consumption and power consumption of heat pump in line with adjustment of… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.2, pp. 1055-1070, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.021950

Abstract The main aspiration of this paper is to improve the efficiency of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) power system with a new Hybrid controller for standalone/isolated Solar PV applications is proposed. This controller uses the merits of both Adapted Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Perturbation & Observation (P&O) control techniques to concede rapid recovery at dynamic change of environment conditions such as solar irradiation and temperature. The ANFIS strategy itself has the merits over Fuzzy Logic and ANN methods. Conversely, P&O has its simplicity in implementation. Hence a case study for rapid recovery with the proposed controller and conventional P&O control strategy… More >

    Emad M. Ahmed1,*, Mohamed A. Ahmed1, Ziad M. Ali2,3, Imran Khan4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 231-254, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.022005

Abstract The operation complexity of the distribution system increases as a large number of distributed generators (DG) and electric vehicles were introduced, resulting in higher demands for fast online reactive power optimization. In a power system, the characteristic selection criteria for power quality disturbance classification are not universal. The classification effect and efficiency needs to be improved, as does the generalization potential. In order to categorize the quality in the power signal disturbance, this paper proposes a multi-layer severe learning computer auto-encoder to optimize the input weights and extract the characteristics of electric power quality disturbances. Then, a multi-label classification algorithm… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.2, pp. 3449-3471, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020263

Abstract The effect of energy on the natural environment has become increasingly severe as human consumption of fossil energy has increased. The capacity of the synchronous generators to keep working without losing synchronization when the system is exposed to severe faults such as short circuits is referred to as the power system's transient stability. As the power system's safe and stable operation and mechanism of action become more complicated, higher demands for accurate and rapid power system transient stability analysis are made. Current methods for analyzing transient stability are less accurate because they do not account for misclassification of unstable samples.… More >
