    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.16, No.4, pp. 361-382, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2022.023851

Abstract The portal structure is the support equipment in the catenary, which bears the load of contact suspension and support equipment. In practical work, with the change of external forces, the support equipment bears complex and changeable loads, so it has higher requirements for its reliability and safety. In order to study the dynamic characteristics of catenary portal structure on continuous beam of four-way bridge, taking the catenary portal structure on Dshaping four-way bridge as the research object, the portal structure simulation model of bridge-network integration was established in Midas Civil. The maximum point of deformation and stress was determined by… More >

Outlier Detection and Forecasting for Bridge Health Monitoring Based on Time Series Intervention Analysis

Bing Qu*, Ping Liao, Yaolong Huang

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.16, No.4, pp. 323-341, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2022.021446

Abstract The method of time series analysis, applied by establishing appropriate mathematical models for bridge health monitoring data and making forecasts of structural future behavior, stands out as a novel and viable research direction for bridge state assessment. However, outliers inevitably exist in the monitoring data due to various interventions, which reduce the precision of model fitting and affect the forecasting results. Therefore, the identification of outliers is crucial for the accurate interpretation of the monitoring data. In this study, a time series model combined with outlier information for bridge health monitoring is established using intervention analysis theory, and the forecasting… More >

Bridge Crack Segmentation Method Based on Parallel Attention Mechanism and Multi-Scale Features Fusion

    Jianwei Yuan1, Xinli Song1,*, Huaijian Pu2, Zhixiong Zheng3, Ziyang Niu3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.3, pp. 6485-6503, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.035165

Abstract Regular inspection of bridge cracks is crucial to bridge maintenance and repair. The traditional manual crack detection methods are time-consuming, dangerous and subjective. At the same time, for the existing mainstream vision-based automatic crack detection algorithms, it is challenging to detect fine cracks and balance the detection accuracy and speed. Therefore, this paper proposes a new bridge crack segmentation method based on parallel attention mechanism and multi-scale features fusion on top of the DeeplabV3+ network framework. First, the improved lightweight MobileNet-v2 network and dilated separable convolution are integrated into the original DeeplabV3+ network to improve the original backbone network Xception… More >

    Ahmed M. Alghamdi1,*, Khalid Hamid2, Muhammad Waseem Iqbal3, M. Usman Ashraf4, Abdullah Alshahrani5, Adel Alshamrani6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.2, pp. 3795-3810, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.033976

Abstract In various fields, different networks are used, most of the time not of a single kind; but rather a mix of at least two networks. These kinds of networks are called bridge networks which are utilized in interconnection networks of PC, portable networks, spine of internet, networks engaged with advanced mechanics, power generation interconnection, bio-informatics and substance intensify structures. Any number that can be entirely calculated by a graph is called graph invariants. Countless mathematical graph invariants have been portrayed and utilized for connection investigation during the latest twenty years. Nevertheless, no trustworthy evaluation has been embraced to pick, how… More >

Numerical Simulation of the Influence of Water Flow on the Piers of a Bridge for Different Incidence Angles

    Danqing Huang*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.3, pp. 845-854, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.020314

Abstract A two-dimensional mathematical model is used to simulate the influence of water flow on the piers of a bridge for different incidence angles. In particular, a finite volume method is used to discretize the Navier-Stokes control equations and calculate the circumferential pressure coefficient distribution on the bridge piers’ surface. The results show that the deflection of the flow is non-monotonic. It first increases and then decreases with an increase in the skew angle. More >

    Bulbul Sharma1,*, N. Karthick1, Durgesh Prasad Bagarty2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.6, pp. 2585-2605, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.021465

Abstract This multilevel inverter methodology is the center of focus among researchers in recent era. It has been focused due to its advantages over existing topologies, drawbacks and improvement of power quality, Multi-level inverter has the ability to generate nearly sinusoidal waves. This sinusoidal wave can be further improved by increasing the level of output voltage or with the help of filter design, and this manuscript presents single-phase Multi cell Multi-Level Inverter (MLI). It has been considered for reducing component count to get a higher number of output voltage levels and lower Total harmonics distortion profile. It comprises with four symmetric… More >

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.56, No.3, pp. 209-220, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sv.2022.014518

Abstract As of April 2019, India has 1,42,126 kilometres of National Highways and 67,368 kilometres of railway tracks that reach even the most remote parts of the country. Bridges are critical for both passenger and freight movement in the country. Because bridges play such an important part in the transportation system, their safety and upkeep must be prioritized. Manual Condition Monitoring has the disadvantage of being sluggish, unreliable, and ineffi- cient. The Internet of Things has given structural monitoring a boost. Significant decreases in the cost of electronics and connection, together with the expansion of cloud platforms, have made it possible… More >
