    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 191-206, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.015810

Abstract Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is a well-known extensively utilized algorithm for a distinct type of optimization problem. In meta-heuristic algorithms, population initialization plays a vital role in solving the classical problems of optimization. The population’s initialization in meta-heuristic algorithms urges the convergence rate and diversity, besides this, it is remarkably beneficial for finding the efficient and effective optimal solution. In this study, we proposed an enhanced variation of the PSO algorithm by using a quasi-random sequence (QRS) for population initialization to improve the convergence rate and diversity. Furthermore, this study represents a new approach for population initialization by incorporating the… More >

    LIUCHENG WU1,3,#, YI WANG2,#, LILI DU1, GUIQING JI1, RUI ZHOU2, ZEYI ZHAO2, JUN CHEN2, SHUNXING ZHU1,*

    BIOCELL, Vol.45, No.6, pp. 1501-1507, 2021, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2021.09528

Abstract Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is an autosomal recessive hereditary neuromuscular disease. Exon 7 and 8 of survival of motor neuron 1 (SMN1) gene or only exon 7 homology deletion leads to the failure to produce a full-length SMN gene. The copy number of SMN2 gene with high homology of SMN1 affects the degree of disease and was the target gene for targeting therapy, in which splicing silencer in intron 7 was the key to suppress the inclusion of exon 7. In this study, we projected to use CRISPR/Case 9 for the targeted editing of intronic-splicing silencer (ISS) sequence to promote… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.2, pp. 453-466, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016589

Abstract Precipitation nowcasting has become an essential technology underlying various public services ranging from weather advisories to citywide rainfall alerts. The main challenge facing many algorithms is the high non-linearity and temporal-spatial complexity of the radar image. Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory (ConvLSTM) is appropriate for modeling spatiotemporal variations as it integrates the convolution operator into recurrent state transition functions. However, the technical characteristic of encoding the input sequence into a fixed-size vector cannot guarantee that ConvLSTM maintains adequate sequence representations in the information flow, which affects the performance of the task. In this paper, we propose Attention ConvLSTM Encoder-Forecaster(AttEF) which allows… More >
