    E. Hain, J. Gharios, R. Sindayigaya, S. Gaujoux

    Oncologie, Vol.21, No.2, pp. 91-96, 2019, DOI:10.3166/onco-2019-0048

Abstract Neuroendocrine tumors (NET) are rare and can occur in all parts of the digestive tract. They can be functional or non-functional. All patients presenting NET should be discussed for the surgical management within the RENATEN tumor board. For sporadic pancreatic NET, surgery is recommended for non-functional lesion >2 cm in size and/or associated with ductal dilatation. For non-aggressive tumor, parenchyma-sparing surgery should be preferred to avoid exocrine and endocrine pancreatic insufficiency. For small bowel NET, surgery must always be considered to avoid complications such as small bowel obstruction. Lymphadenectomy must include at least 8 noded. Surgery must avoid short bowel… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.90, No.3, pp. 971-986, 2021, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2021.012726

Abstract Plant AT-rich sequence and zinc-binding protein (PLATZ) is a plant transcription factor that has been studied in corn. PLATZ can non-specifically bind to sequences rich in A/T bases to induce transcriptional repression. It is involved in the regulation of dehydration tolerance in seeds. In this study, we performed bioinformatics analysis to identify and characterize wheat PLATZ(TaPLATZ)genes. We identified 49 wheat PLATZ genes by searching the wheat genome by using known PLATZ gene sequences from rice, Arabidopsis, and maize. Phylogenetic analysis on PLATZ gene sequences from different species was performed. We found that PLATZs could be divided into three groups. The… More >

PTS-PAPR Reduction Technique for 5G Advanced Waveforms Using BFO Algorithm

    Arun Kumar1, Manoj Gupta1, Dac-Nhuong Le2,3,*, Ayman A. Aly4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.27, No.3, pp. 713-722, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.015793

Abstract Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) will play an imperative part in an advanced 5G radio arrangement, owing to its numerous benefits such as improved spectrum adeptness, fast data rate, truncated spectrum leakage, and, so on. So far, NOMA undergoes from peak to average power ratio (PAPR) problem, which shrinks the throughput of the scheme. In this article, we propose a hybrid method, centered on the combination of advanced Partial transmission sequence (PTS), Selective mapping (SLM), and bacteria foraging optimization (BFO), known as PTS-BFO and SLM-PTS. PTS and SLM are utilized at the sender side and divide the NOMA into several sub-blocks.… More >

    Arun Kumar1, Mahmoud A. Albreem2, Mohammed H. Alsharif3, Abu Jahid4, Peerapong Uthansakul5,*, Jamel Nebhen6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.3, pp. 3283-3292, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015470

Abstract Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is a strong contender multicarrier waveform technique for the fifth generation (5G) communication system. The high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is a serious concern in designing the NOMA waveform. However, the arrangement of NOMA is different from the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. Thus, traditional reduction methods cannot be applied to NOMA. A partial transmission sequence (PTS) is commonly utilized to minimize the PAPR of the transmitting NOMA symbol. The choice phase aspect in the PTS is the only non-linear optimization obstacle that creates a huge computational complication due to the respective non-carrying sub-blocks in the unitary… More >

Abstract Annona squamosa is a multipurpose fruit tree employed in nutritional, medicinal, and industrial fields. Its fruit is significantly enriched in sugars, making it an excellent species to study sugar accumulation in fruit. However, the scarcity of genomic resources hinders genetic studies in this species. This study aimed at generating large-scale genomic resources in A. squamosa and deciphering the molecular basis of its high sugar content. Herein, we sequenced and characterized the full-length transcriptome of A. squamosa fruit using PacBio Iso-seq. In addition, we analyzed the changes in sugar content over five fruit growth and ripening stages, and we applied RNA-sequencing… More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.9, No.1, pp. 73-84, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2021.011385

Abstract This research focused on the dynamic mechanical and thermal properties of woven mat jute/kenaf/jute (J/K/J) and kenaf/jute/kenaf (K/J/K) hybrid composites. Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and Thermo-gravimetric Analysis (TGA) were used to study the effect of layering sequence on the thermal properties of kenaf/jute hybrid composites. The DMA results; it was found that the differences in the stacking sequence between the kenaf/jute composites do not affect their storage modulus, loss modulus and damping factor. From the TGA and DMA results, it has been shown that stacking sequence has given positive effect to the kenaf/jute hybrid composite compared to pure epoxy composite.… More >

    Jia Yang1, Haiyuan Liu1,*, Hao He2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.125, No.1, pp. 111-123, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.010347

Abstract The prediction of intrinsically disordered proteins is a hot research area in bio-information. Due to the high cost of experimental methods to evaluate disordered regions of protein sequences, it is becoming increasingly important to predict those regions through computational methods. In this paper, we developed a novel scheme by employing sequence complexity to calculate six features for each residue of a protein sequence, which includes the Shannon entropy, the topological entropy, the sample entropy and three amino acid preferences including Remark 465, Deleage/Roux, and Bfactor(2STD). Particularly, we introduced the sample entropy for calculating time series complexity by mapping the amino… More >
