    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.8, No.10, pp. 1357-1373, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2020.012136 - 31 August 2020

Abstract Lime-fly ash stabilized loess has a poor early strength, which results in a later traffic opening time when it is used as road-base materials. Consideration of the significant early strength characteristics of sulphate aluminum cement (SAC), it is always added into the lime-fly ash mixtures to improve the early strength of stabilized loess. However, there is a scarcity of research on the mechanical behavior of lime-fly ash-SAC stabilized loess and there is a lack of quantitative evaluation of loess stabilized with binder materials. This research explored the effects of the amount of binder materials, curing… More >

    Chun-Lei Yu1, Bin-Jie Dong2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 865-873, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000090

Abstract A new geometry design method of three-layered Seale wire strand is proposed. The included angle between adjacent helical wires in the same layer, which is assumed as zero in the conventional design method, can be predefined arbitrarily by using the new method. The key process of deriving the diameter ratio of each layer wires was formulated into a one-dimensional problem and golden section method was applied to solve the problem efficiently. Finite element analysis of the newly developed three-layered Seale strand was also implemented by using a concise finite element model (FEM) which takes full… More >

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.13, No.4, pp. 331-346, 2019, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2019.07521

Abstract The investigation focusing on the mechanical behaviors at the microstructural level in composite materials can provide valuable insight into the failure mechanisms at larger scales. A micromechanics damage model which comprises the coupling of the matrix constitutive model and the cohesive zone (CZM) model at fiber-matrix interfaces is presented to evaluate the transverse tensile damage behaviors of unidirectional (UD) fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites. For the polymeric matrix that exhibits highly non-linear mechanical responses, special focus is paid on the formulation of the constitutive model, which characterizes a mixture of elasticity, plasticity as well as damage.… More >
