    Hamzeh T. Alkasasbeh*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.32

Abstract This paper focuses on the numerical solution for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of micropolar Casson fluid with thermal radiation over a horizontal circular cylinder. The nonlinear partial differential equations of the boundary layer are first transformed into a non-dimensional form and then solved numerically using an implicit finite difference scheme known as Keller-box method. The The effects of the emerging parameters, namely Casson fluid parameter, magnetic parameter, radiation parameter and micropolar parameter on the local Nusselt number and the local skin friction coefficient, as well as the temperature, velocity and angular velocity profiles are shown graphically More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.31

Abstract This study reports the flow, thermal and concentration attributes of magnetic-nanofluids past an elongated plate with thermal radiation and chemical reaction. The flow considered is two-dimensional and time-dependent. The pressure gradient and ohmic heating terms are neglected in this analysis. The flow governing PDEs are transformed into ODEs using appropriate conversions. Further, the set of ODEs are solved analytically using perturbation technique. The flow quantities such as velocity, thermal and concentration fields are discussed under the influence of various pertinent parameters namely volume fraction of nanoparticle, magnetic field, stretching parameter, Soret number, radiation and chemical More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-9, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.14

Abstract The present study deals with the two dimensional steady laminar forced MHD Hiemenz flow past a flat plate in a porous medium. The effects of thermal radiation and partial slips on the flow field have been investigated under the variable wall temperature condition of the plate. The governing equations have been transformed into a set of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by using suitable similarity transformations. These equations have been solved analytically by using homotopy analysis method (HAM). Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-7, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.4

Abstract A theoretical investigation has been performed to describe the laminar flow of a rotating fluid past a porous plate in conducting field with variable temperature and variable concentration taking into account the chemical reaction, radiation and Dufour effects. The non-dimensional governing equations are solved numerically by using finite difference scheme. The effects of different physical parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration are presented and discussed with the help of graphs. Also the numerical values for local skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are recorded and analyzed. Increasing values of heat source parameter results in More >

HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER ANALYSIS ON MHD MIXED CONVECTION FLOW OF RADIATIVE CHEMICALLY HEAT GENERATING FLUID WITH VISCOUS DISSIPATION AND THERMO-DIFFUSION EFFECT

    Sanjib Senguptaa,*, Amrit Karmakarb

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.11, pp. 1-13, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.11.30

Abstract In this paper an analysis on heat and mass transfer is made to study magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) mixed convective flow of an incompressible viscous fluid flowing past an inclined plate. A magnetic field of uniform strength is applied to the plate to influence the flow. Due to weak voltage differences caused by the very low polarization charges, the influence of electric field is considered to be neglected. Again large temperature gradient ensures cross diffusion effect like thermo-diffusion (Soret) in the field. The governed set of non-linear partial differential equations is solved by developing a multi-parameter asymptotic… More >

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.14, No.1, pp. 57-86, 2018, DOI:10.3970/fdmp.2018.014.057

Abstract In the present paper, a numerical analysis is performed to study the primary and secondary flows of a micropolar fluid flow past an inclined plate with viscous dissipation and thermal radiation in a rotating frame. A uniform magnetic field of strength Bo is applied normal to the plane of the plate. The whole system rotates with uniform angular velocity about an axis normal to the plate. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into coupled nonlinear partial differential equations by using the appropriate dimensionless quantities. The resulting equations are then solved by the Galerkin finite More >

    M.S. Abdelmeguid*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.28

Abstract In this paper, the effects of suction/blowing and thermal radiation on a hydromagnetic viscous fluid over a non-linear stretching and shrinking sheet are investigated. A similarity transformation is used to reduce the governing equations to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The system of equations is solved analytically employing homotopy analysis method (HAM). Convergence of the HAM solution is checked. The resulting similarity equations are solved numerically using Matlab bvp4c numerical routine. It is found that dual solutions exist for this particular problem. Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.13

Abstract Nowadays external magnetic fields are capable of setting the thermal and physical properties of magnetic-nanofluids and regulate the flow and heat transfer characteristics. The strength of the applied magnetic field affects the thermal conductivity of magnetic nanofluids and makes it aeolotropic. With this incentive, we investigate the flow and heat transfer of electrically conducting liquid film flow of Carreau nanofluid over a stretching sheet by considering the aligned magnetic field in the presence of space and temperature dependent heat source/sink and viscous dissipation. For this study, we considered kerosene as the base fluid embedded with More >
