    Stanford Shateyia,∗, Hillary Muzarab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.14, pp. 1-10, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.14.18

Abstract A theoretical analysis has been carried out to investigate the influence of unsteadiness on the laminar two-phase magnetohydrodynamic nanofluid flow filled with porous medium under the combined effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis. Thermal variable conductivity, thermal radiation and viscous dissipation effects are also considered in this numerical study. The highly nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a set of coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations through suitable similarity transformations. The resultant ordinary differential equations are then numerically solved using the spectral quasilinearization method. The effects of the pertinent physical parameters over the fluid velocity, More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.14, pp. 1-8, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.14.12

Abstract Present investigation aims at analyzing the properties of heat and transport phenomena of thermal energy and species mass in a non-Darcy Casson fluid flow induced by a erected porous elongated surface considering the effect of non-linear radioactive heat, thermophorosis, first order chemical reaction, Newtonian heating, thermo diffusion, permeability and slip conditions. Influence of critical parameters are widely studied. By inducing the variables of similarity the basic boundary layer equations are transmuted into dimensionless equations and are resolved arithmetically using Runge – Kutta – Fehlberg shooting techniques method. The dominance of critical parameters against velocity, temperature, More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.15, pp. 1-8, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.15.23

Abstract Present investigation aims at scrutinizing the properties of heat and mass transfer phenomena of liquid thin film of Casson Nano fluid over elongated sheet under the influence of thermophorosis and Brownian motion. Casson Nano particle effect on thermophorotic force and on Brownian force is studied. Variables of similarity were induced to transmute partial differential equations into dimensionless equations and are resolved numerically by elegant method bvp 4c. Thin film thickness is calculated using MATHEMATICA for different values of critical parameters. Velocity profiles diminishes for higher values of Casson parameter and magnetic field parameter. Muhammad Nazim Tufaila , Musharafa Saleema,b,*, Qasim Ali Chaudhryb,†

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.15, pp. 1-10, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.15.14

Abstract This methodology presented the unsteady three-dimensional laminar flow since Hall effects inducing the cross flow in z-axis. The boundary layer and the low magnetic Reynolds number approximations are used to simplify the system of equations derived from the constitutive laws. The upper-convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid model used for Hall effects with unsteady heat transfer, which passed through the infinite stretching sheet. This flow model has intensified with the effects of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD), thermal radiation and heat generation-absorption. Here, we selected the two-parameter Lie scaling transformations to convert the highly non-linear partial differential equations (PDEs) to More >

Numerical Study of High-Temperature Nonequilibrium Flow around Reentry Vehicle Coupled with Thermal Radiation

Jingying Wang, Fangzhou Han*, Li Lei, Chunhian Lee

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.16, No.3, pp. 601-613, 2020, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2020.09624 - 25 May 2020

Abstract Accurate aerodynamic heating prediction is of great significance to current manned space flight and deep space exploration missions. The temperature in the shock layer surrounding the reentry vehicle can reach up to 10,000 K and result in remarkable thermochemical nonequilibrium, as well as considerable radiative heat transfer. In general, high-temperature flow simulations coupled with thermal radiation require appropriate numerical schemes and physical models. In this paper, the equations governing hypersonic nonequilibrium flow, based on a three-temperature model combined with a thermal radiation solving approach, are used to investigate the radiation effects in the reentry shock… More >

Unsteady MHD Free Convective Flow Past a Vertical Porous Plate with Span-Wise Fluctuating Heat and Mass Transfer Effects

    S . Samantha Kumari1,*, G. Sankara Sekhar Raju2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.15, No.5, pp. 471-489, 2019, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2019.04222

Abstract This paper investigates the chemical reaction and thermal radiation effects on unsteady MHD free convective flow past a vertical porous plate in the presence of heat absorption/generation. The novelty of present investigation is that the temperature and concentration of the plate are span wise cosinusoidally unsteady with time. The second order perturbation technique is employed to study the non-linear partial differential equations which govern the fluid flow. The effects of magnetic parameter, radiation, Eckert number, Schmidt number and chemical reaction parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration distributions as well as skin friction coefficients, the rate More >

    Hamzeh T. Alkasasbeh*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.32

Abstract This paper focuses on the numerical solution for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of micropolar Casson fluid with thermal radiation over a horizontal circular cylinder. The nonlinear partial differential equations of the boundary layer are first transformed into a non-dimensional form and then solved numerically using an implicit finite difference scheme known as Keller-box method. The The effects of the emerging parameters, namely Casson fluid parameter, magnetic parameter, radiation parameter and micropolar parameter on the local Nusselt number and the local skin friction coefficient, as well as the temperature, velocity and angular velocity profiles are shown graphically More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.31

Abstract This study reports the flow, thermal and concentration attributes of magnetic-nanofluids past an elongated plate with thermal radiation and chemical reaction. The flow considered is two-dimensional and time-dependent. The pressure gradient and ohmic heating terms are neglected in this analysis. The flow governing PDEs are transformed into ODEs using appropriate conversions. Further, the set of ODEs are solved analytically using perturbation technique. The flow quantities such as velocity, thermal and concentration fields are discussed under the influence of various pertinent parameters namely volume fraction of nanoparticle, magnetic field, stretching parameter, Soret number, radiation and chemical More >
