    Abstract This article reviews the recent advances in near-field radiative energy transfer, particularly in its fundamentals and applications. When the geometrical features of radiating objects or their separating distances fall into the sub-wavelength range, near-field phenomena such as photon tunneling and surface polaritons begin to play a key role in energy transfer. The resulting heat transfer rate can greatly exceed the blackbody radiation limit by several orders magnitude.     Abstract Chilldown or quenching is a complicated process that initiates the cryogenic fluid line transport, and it involves unsteady two-phase heat and mass transfer. To advance our understanding of this process, we have reviewed recent experimental investigations. The chilldown process can be generally divided into three regimes: film boiling, transition boiling and nucleate boiling, and each regime is associated with a different flow pattern and heat transfer mechanism.     Abstract Boiling heat transfer process is important because it is a way to increase the flux density transmitted at low temperature differences. To quantify the thermal exchanges, we performed an experimental study of the nitrogen pool boiling, in transient conditions, on a horizontal brass ribbon for a fixed flux density. The results show that there is no break between the monophasic convection zone and the nucleated boiling region. In the nucleated boiling zone, the temperature variations are very small. We also note that the overheating required to trigger boiling increases with the time delay after the activation of nucleation sites. More >

    Abstract Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major global health problem with high morbidity and mortality rates. Surgical resection is the main treatment for early-stage CRC, but detecting it early is challenging. Therefore, effective therapeutic targets for advanced patients are still lacking. Exosomes, tiny vesicles in body fluids, play a crucial role in tumor metastasis, immune regulation, and drug resistance. Interestingly, they can even serve as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis.
