    Javaria Tahir1, Syed Rameez Naqvi2,*, Khursheed Aurangzeb3, Musaed Alhussein3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.2, pp. 3235-3250, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.018949 - 27 September 2021

Abstract Melanoma, due to its higher mortality rate, is considered as one of the most pernicious types of skin cancers, mostly affecting the white populations. It has been reported a number of times and is now widely accepted, that early detection of melanoma increases the chances of the subject’s survival. Computer-aided diagnostic systems help the experts in diagnosing the skin lesion at earlier stages using machine learning techniques. In this work, we propose a framework that accurately segments, and later classifies, the lesion using improved image segmentation and fusion methods. The proposed technique takes an image More >

Abstract The automatic and accurate classification of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) radiology report is essential for the analysis and interpretation epilepsy and non-epilepsy. Since the majority of MRI radiology reports are unstructured, the manual information extraction is time-consuming and requires specific expertise. In this paper, a comprehensive method is proposed to classify epilepsy and non-epilepsy real brain MRI radiology text reports automatically. This method combines the Natural Language Processing technique and statistical Machine Learning methods. 122 real MRI radiology text reports (97 epilepsy, 25 non-epilepsy) are studied by our proposed method which consists of the following… More >

Abstract Human gait recognition (HGR) has received a lot of attention in the last decade as an alternative biometric technique. The main challenges in gait recognition are the change in in-person view angle and covariant factors. The major covariant factors are walking while carrying a bag and walking while wearing a coat. Deep learning is a new machine learning technique that is gaining popularity. Many techniques for HGR based on deep learning are presented in the literature. The requirement of an efficient framework is always required for correct and quick gait recognition. We proposed a fully… More >

Abstract Diabetes or Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is the upset that happens due to high glucose level within the body. With the passage of time, this polygenic disease creates eye deficiency referred to as Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) which can cause a major loss of vision. The symptoms typically originate within the retinal space square in the form of enlarged veins, liquid dribble, exudates, haemorrhages and small scale aneurysms. In current therapeutic science, pictures are the key device for an exact finding of patients’ illness. Meanwhile, an assessment of new medicinal symbolisms stays complex. Recently, Computer Vision (CV)… More >

Network Traffic Prediction Using Radial Kernelized-Tversky Indexes-Based Multilayer Classifier

    M. Govindarajan1,*, V. Chandrasekaran2, S. Anitha3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.40, No.3, pp. 851-863, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.019298 - 24 September 2021

Abstract Accurate cellular network traffic prediction is a crucial task to access Internet services for various devices at any time. With the use of mobile devices, communication services generate numerous data for every moment. Given the increasing dense population of data, traffic learning and prediction are the main components to substantially enhance the effectiveness of demand-aware resource allocation. A novel deep learning technique called radial kernelized LSTM-based connectionist Tversky multilayer deep structure learning (RKLSTM-CTMDSL) model is introduced for traffic prediction with superior accuracy and minimal time consumption. The RKLSTM-CTMDSL model performs attribute selection and classification processes… More >

Hybrid Active Contour Mammographic Mass Segmentation and Classification

    K. Yuvaraj*, U. S. Ragupathy

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.40, No.3, pp. 823-834, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.018837 - 24 September 2021

Abstract This research implements a novel segmentation of mammographic mass. Three methods are proposed, namely, segmentation of mass based on iterative active contour, automatic region growing, and fully automatic mask selection-based active contour techniques. In the first method, iterative threshold is performed for manual cropped preprocessed image, and active contour is applied thereafter. To overcome manual cropping in the second method, an automatic seed selection followed by region growing is performed. Given that the result is only a few images owing to over segmentation, the third method uses a fully automatic active contour. Results of the… More >

Hanan A. Hosni Mahmoud, Amal H. Alharbi, Norah S. Alghamdi*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.2, pp. 1273-1286, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.020662 - 22 September 2021

Abstract In this paper we propose a computerized breast cancer detection and breast masses classification system utilizing mammograms. The motivation of the proposed method is to detect breast cancer tumors in early stages with more accuracy and less negative false cases. Our proposed method utilizes clustering of different features by segmenting the breast mammogram and then extracts deep features using the presented Convolution Neural Network (CNN). The extracted features are then combined with subjective features such as shape, texture and density. The combined features are then utilized by the Extreme Learning Machine Clustering (ELMC) algorithm to… More >

Abstract Nasal cavity and paranasal sinus tumours that occur in the respiratory tract are the most life-threatening disease in the world. The human respiratory tract has many sites which has different mucosal lining like frontal, parred, sphenoid and ethmoid sinuses. Nasal cavity tumours can occur at any different mucosal linings and chances of prognosis possibility from one nasal cavity site to another site is very high. The paranasal sinus tumours can metastases to oral cavity and digestive tracts may lead to excessive survival complications. Grading the respiratory tract tumours with dysplasia cases are more challenging using… More >
