    Abstract This paper addresses the challenge of efficiently calculating dynamic carbon emission factors (CEFs) in large-scale power systems. Traditional methods that rely on direct matrix inversion are computationally intensive and become impractical for networks with thousands of nodes. To overcome this limitation, a fast and scalable computational framework is proposed based on the incomplete LU (ILU) preconditioned biconjugate gradient stabilized (BiCGSTAB) iterative solver. The proposed approach formulates the nodal CEF model as a sparse linear system and employs Krylov subspace acceleration with ILU preconditioning to enhance convergence and numerical stability.     The Influence of the Grain Size Effect on the Mechanical Properties of Metallic Tungsten during Nanoindentation

    Abstract Tungsten plays a critical role in semiconductor electrical interconnects, and a thorough understanding of its mechanical properties is essential for optimizing its processing and performance. However, few studies have explored the effect of grain refinement on the mechanical behavior of tungsten. The work indicates a phenomenological transition around ~7.3 nm within the tested grain-size range that governs the nanoindentation response of tungsten.     Abstract Tungsten-copper laminated composites are promising materials for high heat-flux applications, but their performance is often limited by interfacial instability caused by the thermal-mechanical mismatch between tungsten and copper. In this study, W/W-30Cu/CuCrZr three-layer composites are fabricated by high-pressure torsion (HPT) processing.     Abstract The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic introduced significant psychosocial stressors for morticians in South Africa, yet their coping mechanisms remain underexplored. This study investigated how South African morticians (N = 10, Black males) coped with these stressors during the pandemic through semi-structured interviews.     Abstract In this study, we used Raman spectroscopy to compare the local structure of Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) thin films with thicknesses of 90 nm and 271 nm that were crystallized through thermal annealing and laser radiation (laser annealing) during the recording of Raman spectra in situ.
