    Rheological Studies on Glycerol Plasticized Gelatin and Its Blends with Epoxidized Soybean Oil

    Abstract Blends of gelatin (Ge) plasticized with varying amounts of glycerol (Gly), buffer solution pH 10 and epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) to enhance hydrophobicity were prepared by mixing and injection-molding. Blends were characterized by rheological tests and microscopy to select optimal conditions for scaling up their processing. The effect of each component on rheological response was analyzed using parallel plate geometry. Coating of gelatin specimens with PDMS during rheological tests led to reliable and reproducible results since water evaporation was prevented.     Abstract This paper presents a semi-active control of vehicle suspension system with a hybrid damper. This damper consists of a conventional oil damper and magnetorheological fluidic (MRF) accumulator, which comprises gas accumulator and MRF device.     Abstract Abnormal effects in GPS broadcast ephemerides can have a significant effect on real-time navigation and positioning solutions that use the orbit and clock error data provided by GPS broadcast ephemerides. This paper describes three types of non-integer-hour navigation data in GPS broadcast ephemeris data. Compared with GPST integer hour data, we find that there are two types of data blocks for non-integer-hour navigation containing gross errors with different levels of precision, which is reflected in the user range accuracy (URA) of the broadcast ephemeris.     Abstract This paper addresses the need of theories and simulations for material body of mesoscopic and microscopic sizes. An overview of polar theories is presented. The micropolar theory proposed by Eringen is introduced and compared with other polar theories. Constitutive equations of micropolar thermo-visco-elastic solid are derived. Finite element analyses have been performed for a few sample problems with wide range of length scales. Based on the discussion, comparison and computer simulations, the unique feature and applicability of micropolar theory are demonstrated. More >

    Abstract With the rapid development of information technology, digital images have become an important medium for information transmission. Images are easily spliced and distributed, and the situation will be a great threat to social security. The survey covers splicing image and its localization.     Abstract The present study investigated the preparation of biomatrices from Stipa tenacissima L. and its valorization for fiberboard application. Resins were produced by extracting lignin from the Stipa tenacissima L. black liquor by soda process and combining it with glyoxal as crosslinking agent to produce lignin-glyoxal-resin (LGR).     Abstract This study was designed to investigate the effects of mechanical (MS) and/or oxidized low-density lipoprotein on proliferation and apoptosis of RAW264.7 macrophages and the underlying mechanisms. The cultured quiescent RAW264.7 macrophages were subject to stimulation with MS and/or in the presence or absence of simvastatin and then harvested for Western blot, and immunoflourecence.
