    Anman Zhang1, Bohan Li1, 2, 3, *, Wenhuan Wang1, Shuo Wan1, Weitong Chen4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.63, No.3, pp. 1499-1514, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.09962

Abstract Active learning has been widely utilized to reduce the labeling cost of supervised learning. By selecting specific instances to train the model, the performance of the model was improved within limited steps. However, rare work paid attention to the effectiveness of active learning on it. In this paper, we proposed a deep active learning model with bidirectional encoder representations from transformers (BERT) for text classification. BERT takes advantage of the self-attention mechanism to integrate contextual information, which is beneficial to accelerate the convergence of training. As for the process of active learning, we design an instance selection strategy based on… More >

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.14, No.2, pp. 297-304, 2019, DOI:10.1111/chd.12728

Abstract Objective: We sought to describe the leaflet morphology variation in the Melody Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve (TPV) and evaluate associated outcomes. The Melody TPV is constructed from harvested bovine jugular venous valves which have been rigorously tested. Natural anatomic leaflet variations are seen in the Melody TPV but have not been evaluated.
Design: A Melody TPV leaflet morphology classification system was devised after reviewing a subset of photographed and implanted TPVs. All images were blindly re‐ viewed by implanters and classified. Midterm hemodynamic outcomes and complica‐ tions of the Melody TPVs were compared by leaflet morphology.
Results: Photographed Melody TPVs implanted… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.63, No.2, pp. 995-1012, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.07968

Abstract Myocardial segmentation and classification play a major role in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a kind of common chronic and life-threatening cardiopathy. Early diagnostics significantly increases the chances of correct treatment and survival. However, accurate and rapid diagnosis of DCM is still challenge due to high variability of cardiac structure, low contrast cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) images, and intrinsic noise in synthetic CMR images caused by motion artifact and cardiac dynamics. Moreover, visual assessment and empirical evaluation are widely used in routine clinical diagnosis, but they are subject to high inter-observer variability and are both subjective… More >
