    Abstract This paper reviews the fracture performance in air and aggressive environment (stress corrosion cracking) of eutectoid prestressing steel wires with different levels of cold drawing. In air environment, a micromechanical model of fracture is proposed to rationalize the results on the basis of the microstructure of the steels after drawing and the model of Miller & Smith of fracture of pearlitic microstructure by shear cracking of the cementite lamellae.     Abstract In this work, we have developed a novel machine (deep) learning computational framework to determine and identify damage loading parameters (conditions) for structures and materials based on the permanent or residual plastic deformation distribution or damage state of the structure. We have shown that the developed machine learning algorithm can accurately and (practically) uniquely identify both prior static as well as impact loading conditions in an inverse manner, based on the residual plastic strain and plastic deformation as forensic signatures. Fung that convened at the University of California, Irvine in February 2004.     Abstract The ability to detect, localize, quantify and monitor the expression of specific genes in living cells in real-time will offer unprecedented opportunities for advancement in molecular biology, disease pathophysiology, drug discovery, and medical diagnostics. Generally, they have the advantage of lower prices due to less precious alloy elements contained; however, their properties, especially the surface properties are inferior to high alloy steels.
