    N. Penchalaiah1, Abeer S. Al-Humaimeedy2, Mashael Maashi3, J. Chinna Babu4,*, Osamah Ibrahim Khalaf5, Theyazn H. H. Aldhyani6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.3, pp. 5349-5365, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.029639

Abstract The expanding amounts of information created by Internet of Things (IoT) devices places a strain on cloud computing, which is often used for data analysis and storage. This paper investigates a different approach based on edge cloud applications, which involves data filtering and processing before being delivered to a backup cloud environment. This Paper suggest designing and implementing a low cost, low power cluster of Single Board Computers (SBC) for this purpose, reducing the amount of data that must be transmitted elsewhere, using Big Data ideas and technology. An Apache Hadoop and Spark Cluster that was used to run a… More >

Improved STCA Model for Multi-Lane Using Driving Guidance under CVIS

    Xun Li1, Wenzhe Ma1,*, Zhengfan Zhao2, Muhammad Bashir1, Wenjie Wang1, Xiaohua Wang1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.133, No.1, pp. 67-92, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.020019

Abstract In a multi-lane area, the increasing randomness of lane changes contributes to traffic insecurity and local traffic flow instability. A study on safe lane shifting activity that focuses on threat assessment under real-time knowledge is necessary to enhance smooth vehicle flow. This paper proposed a more comprehensive lane changing guidance rule to investigate the status of surrounding vehicles to accommodate future vehicle-on-road collaborative environments based on these parameters 1) lane change demand and 2) treat assessment function. The collaborative relationships between vehicles are analyzed using a cellular automata model based on their location, velocity, and acceleration. We analyze and examine… More >

    Jiamao Li1,2,*, Chuimin Zhang1, Lin Li1, Chuangang Fan1,*, Zhaofang He3, Yuandi Qian3

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.12, pp. 3439-3458, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.021214

Abstract The purpose of this paper was to explore the possibility of using low-alkalinity cementitious materials as binders, in which ground blast furnace slag and fly ash acted as a partial replacement of ordinary Portland cement, and CaSO4, Na2SO4, and CaO were used as a sulfate activator and alkali-activated additives, to solidify gold mine tailings for preparation of a green, inexpensive cemented paste backfill (CPB). For this target, the effects of cement/ tailings ratio, superplasticizer dosage, solid content, tailings fineness on the mechanical properties of the CPB were investigated. Additionally, the hydration mechanism of the CPB was analyzed based on X-ray… More >

Construction of Customized Bio Incubator and Designing of Tailored Scaffolds for Bone Tissue Engineering from Laboratory Scale Up to Clinical Scale

    Soliman Abdalla1,2,*, Shiref Kandil2

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.11, pp. 2699-2716, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.022334

Abstract In order to obtain larger, clinical-scale and practical-scale bone grafts, we have designed both tailored scaffolds and tailored bio incubator with optimal bio-production characteristics. Using DIC files to Simpleware Scan-IP (Simple-ware-exeter United Kingdom), we have digitally reconstructed segmental additive bone-tissue in order to perform images processing. Both hydroxyapatite and tannin composites have been used in order to get the final bone modules combined for retexturing of segmental bone defect. We have found that sectioning of bone segment deficiency reorganizations into well disk-shaped design permits one to standardize the cell culture and seeding protocol, to get better products. The present study… More >

An Algorithm for Target Detection of Engineering Vehicles Based on Improved CenterNet

    Pingping Yu1, Hongda Wang1, Xiaodong Zhao1,*, Guangchen Ruan2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 4261-4276, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.029239

Abstract Aiming at the problems of low target image resolution, insufficient target feature extraction, low detection accuracy and poor real time in remote engineering vehicle detection, an improved CenterNet target detection model is proposed in this paper. Firstly, EfficientNet-B0 with Efficient Channel Attention (ECA) module is used as the basic network, which increases the quality and speed of feature extraction and reduces the number of model parameters. Then, the proposed Adaptive Fusion Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network (AF-BiFPN) module is applied to fuse the features of different feature layers. Furthermore, the feature information of engineering vehicle targets is added by making full… More >

Maintain Optimal Configurations for Large Configurable Systems Using Multi-Objective Optimization

Muhammad Abid Jamil1,*, Deafallah Alsadie1, Mohamed K. Nour1, Normi Sham Awang Abu Bakar2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 4407-4422, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.029096

Abstract To improve the maintenance and quality of software product lines, efficient configurations techniques have been proposed. Nevertheless, due to the complexity of derived and configured products in a product line, the configuration process of the software product line (SPL) becomes time-consuming and costly. Each product line consists of a various number of feature models that need to be tested. The different approaches have been presented by Search-based software engineering (SBSE) to resolve the software engineering issues into computational solutions using some metaheuristic approach. Hence, multiobjective evolutionary algorithms help to optimize the configuration process of SPL. In this paper, different multi-objective… More >

A nanostructured look of collagen apatite porosity into human mineralized collagen fibril

    FABIANO BINI1,*, ANDRADA PICA1, ANDREA MARINOZZI2, FRANCO MARINOZZI1

    BIOCELL, Vol.46, No.10, pp. 2225-2229, 2022, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2022.021150

Abstract Bone tissue is a hierarchical material characterized at nanoscale by the mineralized collagen fibril, a recurring structure mainly composed of apatite minerals, collagen and water. Bone nanostructure has a fundamental role in determining the mechanical behavior of the tissue and its mass transport properties. Diffusion phenomenon allows to maintain an adequate supply of metabolites in the mechanisms of bone remodeling, adaptation and repair. Several analytical and computational models have been developed to analyze and predict bone tissue behavior. However, the fine replication of the natural tissue still represents a challenge. Insights on the structural organization at nanoscale and on the… More >

Analysis of Efficient 32 Bit Adder Using Tree Grafting Technique

    R. Gowrishankar1,*, N. Sathish Kumar2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 1197-1209, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.025422

Abstract Adder with high efficiency and accuracy is the major requirement for electronic circuit design. Here the optical logic gate based adder circuit is designed for better performance analysis of optical input signals varied with the wavelength. Efficiency of the adder can be improved by increasing the speed of operation, reducing the complexity and power consumption. To maintain the high efficiency with accuracy, a new combination of adder has been proposed and tested in this work. A new adder by combining the logics of Brent Kung, Sklansky and Kogge Stone adders by Tree Grafting Technique (BSKTGT) has been tested along with… More >
