    Xueqing Wang1, Shuang Liu1,*, Lejun Zhang2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 259-269, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.014343

Abstract The cost of highway is affected by many factors. Its composition and calculation are complicated and have great ambiguity. Calculating the cost of highway according to the traditional highway engineering estimation method is a completely tedious task. Constructing a highway cost prediction model can forecast the value promptly and improve the accuracy of highway engineering cost. This work sorts out and collects 60 sets of measured data of highway engineering; establishes an expressway cost index system based on 10 factors, including main route mileage, roadbed width, roadbed earthwork, and number of bridges; and processes the data through principal component analysis… More >

    Qihang Wang, Gang Wu*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 225-237, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.014100

Abstract AI approaches have been introduced to predict the remaining useful life (RUL) of a machine in modern industrial areas. To apply them well, challenges regarding the high dimension of the data space and noisy data should be met to improve model efficiency and accuracy. In this study, we propose an end-to-end model, termed ACB, for RUL predictions; it combines an autoencoder, convolutional neural network (CNN), and bidirectional long short-term memory. A new penalized root mean square error loss function is included to avoid an overestimation of the RUL. With the CNN-based autoencoder, a high-dimensional data space can be mapped into… More >

Abstract Current understanding about how the virus that causes COVID-19 spreads is largely based on what is known about similar coronaviruses. Some of the Natural products are suitable drugs against SARS-CoV-2 main protease. For recognizing a strong inhibitor, we have accomplished docking studies on the major virus protease with 4 natural product species as anti COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), namely “Vidarabine”, “Cytarabine”, “Gemcitabine” and “Matrine” which have been extracted from Gillan’s leaves plants. These are known as Chuchaq, Trshvash, Cote-Couto and Khlvash in Iran. Among these four studied compounds, Cytarabine appears as a suitable compound with high effectiveness inhibitors to this protease. Finally… More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.9, No.2, pp. 351-364, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2021.012885

Abstract In order to enhance the strength of sustainable walnut shell/Co-PES (WSPC) sintered parts, wax-filtrated post-treatment was carried out. The effects of treating fluid temperature, preheating time and immersion time on the bending strength of WSPC wax-filtrated parts were analyzed by single factor analysis method. To obtain an accurate model for predicting the bending strength of the WSPC wax-filtrated part, the experiments were involved by using Box-Behnken design (BBD). Main parameters, such as treating fluid temperature, preheating time and immersion time, and their interactive effects were analyzed through analysis of variance (ANOVA) and graphical contours. The results demonstrated that all parameters’… More >

    Tianyu Wang1, Wael A. Altabey1,2, Mohammad Noori3,*, Ramin Ghiasi1

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.14, No.4, pp. 315-338, 2020, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2020.011083

Abstract Beam-like structures are a class of common but important structures in engineering. Over the past few centuries, extensive research has been carried out to obtain the static and dynamic response of beam-like structures. Although building the finite element model to predict the response of these structures has proven to be effective, it is not always suitable in all the application cases because of high computational time or lack of accuracy. This paper proposes a novel approach to predict the deflection response of beam-like structures based on a deep neural network and the governing differential equation of Euler-Bernoulli beam. The Prandtl-Ishlinskii… More >
