Modelling a Learning-Based Dynamic Tree Routing Model for Wireless Mesh Access Networks

    N. Krishnammal1,*, C. Kalaiarasan2, A. Bharathi3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.2, pp. 1531-1549, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.024251

Abstract Link asymmetry in wireless mesh access networks (WMAN) of Mobile ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) is due mesh routers’ transmission range. It is depicted as significant research challenges that pose during the design of network protocol in wireless networks. Based on the extensive review, it is noted that the substantial link percentage is symmetric, i.e., many links are unidirectional. It is identified that the synchronous acknowledgement reliability is higher than the asynchronous message. Therefore, the process of establishing bidirectional link quality through asynchronous beacons underrates the link reliability of asymmetric links. It paves the way to exploit an investigation on asymmetric links… More >

Artificial Potential Field Incorporated Deep-Q-Network Algorithm for Mobile Robot Path Prediction

    A. Sivaranjani1,*, B. Vinod2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 1135-1150, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.028126

Abstract Autonomous navigation of mobile robots is a challenging task that requires them to travel from their initial position to their destination without collision in an environment. Reinforcement Learning methods enable a state action function in mobile robots suited to their environment. During trial-and-error interaction with its surroundings, it helps a robot to find an ideal behavior on its own. The Deep Q Network (DQN) algorithm is used in TurtleBot 3 (TB3) to achieve the goal by successfully avoiding the obstacles. But it requires a large number of training iterations. This research mainly focuses on a mobility robot’s best path prediction… More >

Optimized Reinforcement Learning Based Multipath Transfer Protocol in Wireless Mesh Network

    S. Rajeswari1,*, S. A. Arunmozhi1, Y. Venkataramani2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.3, pp. 1959-1970, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.025957

Abstract Multiple radios working on different channels are used in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) to improve network performance and reduce Energy Consumption (EC). Effective routing in Backbone WMNs is where each cross-section switch is well-organized with multiple Radio Interfaces (RI), and a subset of hubs is occupied as a gateway to the Internet. Most routing methods decrease the forward overheads by evolving one dimension, e.g., hop count and traffic proportion. With that idea, while considering these dimensions together, the complexity of the routing issue increases drastically. Consequently, an effective EC routing method considers a few performances simultaneously, and the requirement of… More >

Optimizing the Multi-Objective Discrete Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm by Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient Algorithm

    Sun Yang-Yang, Yao Jun-Ping*, Li Xiao-Jun, Fan Shou-Xiang, Wang Zi-Wei

    Journal on Artificial Intelligence, Vol.4, No.1, pp. 27-35, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jai.2022.027839

Abstract Deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) has been proved to be effective in optimizing particle swarm optimization (PSO), but whether DDPG can optimize multi-objective discrete particle swarm optimization (MODPSO) remains to be determined. The present work aims to probe into this topic. Experiments showed that the DDPG can not only quickly improve the convergence speed of MODPSO, but also overcome the problem of local optimal solution that MODPSO may suffer. The research findings are of great significance for the theoretical research and application of MODPSO. More >

QL-CBR Hybrid Approach for Adapting Context-Aware Services

    Somia Belaidouni1,2, Moeiz Miraoui3,4,*, Chakib Tadj1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.3, pp. 1085-1098, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.024056

Abstract A context-aware service in a smart environment aims to supply services according to user situational information, which changes dynamically. Most existing context-aware systems provide context-aware services based on supervised algorithms. Reinforcement algorithms are another type of machine-learning algorithm that have been shown to be useful in dynamic environments through trial-and-error interactions. They also have the ability to build excellent self-adaptive systems. In this study, we aim to incorporate reinforcement algorithms (Q-learning) into a context-aware system to provide relevant services based on a user’s dynamic context. To accelerate the convergence of reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms and provide the correct services in… More >

A Novel Soft Clustering Approach for Gene Expression Data

    E. Kavitha1,*, R. Tamilarasan2, Arunadevi Baladhandapani3, M. K. Jayanthi Kannan4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.3, pp. 871-886, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.021215

Abstract Gene expression data represents a condition matrix where each row represents the gene and the column shows the condition. Micro array used to detect gene expression in lab for thousands of gene at a time. Genes encode proteins which in turn will dictate the cell function. The production of messenger RNA along with processing the same are the two main stages involved in the process of gene expression. The biological networks complexity added with the volume of data containing imprecision and outliers increases the challenges in dealing with them. Clustering methods are hence essential to identify the patterns present in… More >

Deep Reinforcement Extreme Learning Machines for Secured Routing in Internet of Things (IoT) Applications

    K. Lavanya1,*, K. Vimala Devi2, B. R. Tapas Bapu3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.2, pp. 837-848, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023055

Abstract Multipath TCP (SMPTCP) has gained more attention as a valuable approach for IoT systems. SMPTCP is introduced as an evolution of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to pass packets simultaneously across several routes to completely exploit virtual networks on multi-homed consoles and other network services. The current multipath networking algorithms and simulation software strategies are confronted with sub-flow irregularity issues due to network heterogeneity, and routing configuration issues can be fixed adequately. To overcome the issues, this paper proposes a novel deep reinforcement-based extreme learning machines (DRLELM) approach to examine the complexities between routes, pathways, sub-flows, and SMPTCP connections in different… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.2, pp. 1157-1174, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022606

Abstract In meteorological and electric power Internet of Things scenarios, in order to extend the service life of relevant facilities and reduce the cost of emergency repair, the intelligent inspection swarm is introduced to cooperate with monitoring tasks, which collect and process the current scene data through a variety of sensors and cameras, and complete tasks such as emergency handling and fault inspection. Due to the limitation of computing resources and battery life of patrol inspection equipment, it will cause problems such as slow response in emergency and long time for fault location. Mobile Edge Computing is a promising technology, which… More >
