Integrated Random Early Detection for Congestion Control at the Router Buffer

    Ahmad Adel Abu-Shareha*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.40, No.2, pp. 719-734, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.018369

Abstract This paper proposed an Integrated Random Early Detection (IRED) method that aims to resolve the problems of the queue-based AQM and load-based AQM and gain the benefits of both using indicators from both types. The arrival factor (e.g., arrival rate, queue and capacity) and the departure factors are used to estimate the congestion through two integrated indicators. The utilized indicators are mathematically calculated and integrated to gain unified and coherent congestion indicators. Besides, IRED is built based on a new dropping calculation approach that fits the utilized congestion indicators while maintaining the intended buffer management criteria, avoiding global synchronization and… More >

A Pull-Out Test Study on the Working State of Fully Grouted Bolts

    Ruixin Zhao1,*, Zhongju Feng1, Guan Jiang1, Fuchun Wang1, Yidong Zhang2, Changan Zhang3, Zhenbing Wang1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.17, No.2, pp. 441-453, 2021, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2021.010595

Abstract The present study examines the working conditions of fully grouted bolts used for the construction and expansion of high slopes. On the basis of a pull out destructive test, the work load and the ultimate load are obtained on site, and the Flac3d numerical simulation method is employed to determine the axial force distribution and the effective anchor length. The test results show that (1) the Q-S (load-displacement) curve of the bolt displays a certain degree of deformation coupled with the creep of the surrounding rock; (2) the working load of the bolt is closely related to the sliding deformation… More >

Design and Validation of a Route Planner for Logistic UAV Swarm

    Meng-Tse Lee1,*, Ying-Chih Lai2, Ming-Lung Chuang1, Bo-Yu Chen1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.28, No.1, pp. 227-240, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.015339

Abstract Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are widely used in different fields of aviation today. The efficient delivery of packages by drone may be one of the most promising applications of this technology. In logistic UAV missions, due to the limited capacities of power supplies, such as fuel or batteries, it is almost impossible for one unmanned vehicle to visit multiple wide areas. Thus, multiple unmanned vehicles with well-planned routes become necessary to minimize the unnecessary consumption of time, distance, and energy while carrying out the delivery missions. The aim of the present study was to develop a multiple-vehicle mission dispatch system… More >

Abstract The fast-paced growth of artificial intelligence provides unparalleled opportunities to improve the efficiency of various industries, including the transportation sector. The worldwide transport departments face many obstacles following the implementation and integration of different vehicle features. One of these tasks is to ensure that vehicles are autonomous, intelligent and able to grow their repository of information. Machine learning has recently been implemented in wireless networks, as a major artificial intelligence branch, to solve historically challenging problems through a data-driven approach. In this article, we discuss recent progress of applying machine learning into vehicle networks for intelligent route decision and try… More >

Research on Tourist Routes Recommendation Based on the User Preference Drifting Over Time

    Chunjing Xiao1,∗, Yongwei Qiao2, Kewen Xia1, Yuxiang Zhang3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.33, No.2, pp. 95-103, 2018, DOI:10.32604/csse.2018.33.095

Abstract Tourist routes recommendation is a way to improve the tourist experience and the efficiency of tourism companies. Session-based methods divide all users’ interaction histories into the same number sessions with fixed time window and treat the user preference as time sequences. There have few or even no interaction in some sessions for some users because of the high sparsity and temporal characteristics of tourist data. That lead to many session-based methods can not be applied to routes recommendation due to aggravate the sparsity. In order to better adapt and apply the characteristics of tourism data and alleviate the sparsity, a… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.33, No.2, pp. 87-94, 2018, DOI:10.32604/csse.2018.33.087

Abstract The rapid expansion of GPS-embedded devices has showed the emerging new look of location-based services, enabling such offerings as travel guide services and location-based social networks. One consequence is the accumulation of a rich supply of GPS trajectories, indicating individuals’ historical position. Based on these data, we aim to mine the hot route by using a collaborative tensor calculation method. We present an efficient trajectory data processing model for mining the hot route. In this paper, we rst model the individual’s trajectory log, extract sources and destinations, use map matching to get the corresponding road segments, and nally apply the… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.1, pp. 121-132, 2020, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000133

Abstract The widespread distribution of precision farming systems necessitates improvements in the methods for the control of unmanned harvesting equipment (UHE). While unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) provide an effective solution to this problem, there are many challenges in the implementation of technology. This paper considers the problem of identifying optimal routes of UHE movement as a multicriteria evaluation problem, which can be solved by a nonlinear scheme of compromises. The proposed method uses machine learning algorithms and statistical processing of the spectral characteristics obtained from UAV digital images. Developed method minimizes the resources needed for a harvesting campaign and reduces the… More >

An Entropy-Based Model for Recommendation of Taxis’ Cruising Route

    Yizhi Liu1, 2, Xuesong Wang1, 2, Jianxun Liu1, 2, *, Zhuhua Liao1, 2, Yijiang Zhao1, 2, Jianjun Wang1, 2

    Journal on Artificial Intelligence, Vol.2, No.3, pp. 137-148, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jai.2020.010620

Abstract Cruising route recommendation based on trajectory mining can improve taxidrivers' income and reduce energy consumption. However, existing methods mostly recommend pick-up points for taxis only. Moreover, their performance is not good enough since there lacks a good evaluation model for the pick-up points. Therefore, we propose an entropy-based model for recommendation of taxis' cruising route. Firstly, we select more positional attributes from historical pick-up points in order to obtain accurate spatial-temporal features. Secondly, the information entropy of spatial-temporal features is integrated in the evaluation model. Then it is applied for getting the next pick-up points and further recommending a series… More >

    Chao Guo1, *, Juan Guo2, Chanjuan Yu1, Zhaobin Li1, Cheng Gong3, Abdul Waheed4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.1, pp. 439-454, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.09792

Abstract Satellite networks have high requirements for security and data processing speed. In order to improve the reliability of the network, software-defined network (SDN) technology is introduced and a central controller is set in the network. Due to the characteristics of global perspective, control data separation, and centralized control of SDN, the idea of SDN is introduced to the design of the satellite network model. As a result, satellite nodes are only responsible for data transmission, while the maintenance of the links and the calculation of routes are implemented by the controller. For the massive LEO satellite network based on SDN,… More >
