Xiao Wu*, Zhaoting Wang, Longfei Dong, Yanping Xin, Tianshu Yu

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 25-36, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.020953

Abstract The Mixed Refrigerant (MR) component is an important factor influencing the performances of natural gas liquefaction processes. However, there is a lack of systematic research about the utilization of propane pre-cooled (C3/MRC). In this paper, this mixed refrigerant cycle liquefaction process is simulated using the HYSYS software and the main influential parameters involved in the process are varied to analyze their influence on the liquefaction rate and power consumption. The results show that an effective way for lowering the power consumption of the compressor consists of reducing the flow through the compressor through optimization of the percentage of mixed refrigerant.… More >

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 261-271, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.020076

Abstract A three-dimensional model for the numerical simulation of casing-cement behavior is used to investigate residual strength in the perforated casing of ultra deep wells. The influence of the hole diameter, hole density and phase angle on the residual strength of the casing under non-uniform stress and fracturing conditions is revealed through the consideration of different perforation parameters. It is shown that the residual strength of the casing increases with the hole diameter and periodically changes with the hole density; the phase angle is the main factor that affects the residual strength of the perforated casing, and the perforation should be… More >

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 105-116, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.020049

Abstract An uncertainty analysis method is proposed for the assessment of the residual strength of a casing subjected to wear and non-uniform load in a deep well. The influence of casing residual stress, out-of-roundness and non-uniform load is considered. The distribution of multi-source parameters related to the residual anti extrusion strength and residual anti internal pressure strength of the casing after wear are determined using the probability theory. Considering the technical casing of X101 well in Xinjiang Oilfield as an example, it is shown that the randomness of casing wear depth, formation elastic modulus and formation Poisson’s ratio are the main… More >

    Yuhui Zhou1,2,3,*, Shichang Ju4, Qijun Lyu4, Hongfei Chen4, Xuebiao Du4, Aiping Zheng4, Wenshun Chen4, Ning Li4

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 245-259, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.019971

Abstract It is known that the pore media characteristics of glutenite reservoirs are different from those of conventional sandstone reservoirs. Low reservoir permeability and naturally developed microfractures make water injection in this kind of reservoir very difficult. In this study, new exploitation methods are explored. Using a real glutenite reservoir as a basis, a three-dimensional fine geological model is elaborated. Then, combining the model with reservoir performance information, and through a historical fitting analysis, the saturation abundance distribution of remaining oil in the reservoir is determined. It is shown that, using this information, predictions can be made about whether the considered… More >

A Numerical Study on Supersonic Combustion Optimization Based on the Streamwise Vortex-Couple Method

Hao Tian, Yongkang Zheng*, Hanxin Zhang

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 207-222, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.019790

Abstract In this paper, some typical methods to promote mixing in supersonic combustion are reviewed, and the fluid-dynamic mechanism underpinning the development of the supersonic shear layer in the presence of a streamwise vortex is analyzed through computational fluid dynamics. It is proven that the streamwise vortex-couple method is an excellent approach to enhance mixing. A specific combustor design is proposed accordingly. More >

Assessment of Different Optimization Algorithms for a Thermal Conduction Problem

    Mohammad Reza Hajmohammadi1, Javad Najafiyan1, Giulio Lorenzini2,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 233-244, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.019763

Abstract In this study, three computational approaches for the optimization of a thermal conduction problem are critically compared. These include a Direct Method (DM), a Genetic Algorithm (GA), and a Pattern Search (PS) technique. The optimization aims to minimize the maximum temperature of a hot medium (a medium with uniform heat generation) using a constant amount of high conductivity materials (playing the role of fixed factor constraining the considered problem). The principal goal of this paper is to determine the most efficient and fastest option among the considered ones. It is shown that the examined three methods approximately lead to the… More >

A Numerical Investigation on the Influence of the Circular Ring on the Aerodynamic Noise Generated by a Cooling Fan

    Jun Feng1,2, Tao Bian1,2,5, Qianpeng Han2, Bing Wang1,3,4,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 1-14, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.018275

Abstract The influence of the width of the circular ring of a car cooling fan on the aerodynamic noise is investigated numerically through the determination of the overall sound pressure level (OASPL). The results demonstrate that when the circular rings cover near 2/3 of the width of the blade tips of the rotor in the axis direction, the rotor has the lowest OASPL and the related total pressure efficiency and flow mass rate are better than the corresponding values obtained for a reference rotor without a circular ring. With increasing the width of the circular ring in the axis direction, the… More > Graphic Abstract

    Oncology Research, Vol.29, No.3, pp. 201-215, 2021, DOI:10.32604/or.2022.03553

Abstract LncRNAs and metabolism represents two factors involved in cancer initiation and progression. However, the interaction between lncRNAs and metabolism remains to be fully explored. In this study, lncRNA FEZF1-AS1 (FEZF1- AS1) was found upregulated in colon cancer after screening all the lncRNAs of colon cancer tissues deposited in TCGA, the result of which was further confirmed by RNAscope staining on a colon tissue chip. The results obtained using FEZF1- AS1 knockout colon cancer cells (SW480 KO and HCT-116 KO) constructed using CRISPR/Cas9 system confirmed the proliferation, invasion, and migration-promoting function of FEZF1-AS1 in vitro. Mechanistically, FEZF1-AS1 associated with the mitochondrial… More >

Long noncoding RNA CCDC183-AS1 depletion represses breast cancer cell proliferation, colony formation, and motility by sponging microRNA-3918

    Oncology Research, Vol.29, No.3, pp. 189-200, 2021, DOI:10.32604/or.2022.03573

Abstract Many studies have illustrated the significance of long noncoding RNAs in oncogenesis and promotion of breast cancer (BC). However, the biological roles of CCDC183 antisense RNA 1 (CCDC183-AS1) in BC have rarely been characterized. Thus, we explored whether CCDC183-AS1 is involved in the malignancy of BC and elucidated the possible underlying mechanisms. Our data confirmed elevated CCDC183-AS1 expression in BC, which was associated with poor clinical outcomes. Functionally, knocking down CCDC183-AS1 hampered cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, and invasion in BC. Additionally, the absence of CCDC183-AS1 restrained tumor growth in vivo. Mechanistically, CCDC183-AS1 executed as a competitive endogenous RNA in… More >
