    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.1, pp. 51-71, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.012632

Abstract Heart disease (HD) is a serious widespread life-threatening disease. The heart of patients with HD fails to pump sufficient amounts of blood to the entire body. Diagnosing the occurrence of HD early and efficiently may prevent the manifestation of the debilitating effects of this disease and aid in its effective treatment. Classical methods for diagnosing HD are sometimes unreliable and insufficient in analyzing the related symptoms. As an alternative, noninvasive medical procedures based on machine learning (ML) methods provide reliable HD diagnosis and efficient prediction of HD conditions. However, the existing models of automated ML-based HD diagnostic methods cannot satisfy… More >

    Rubina Aslam1,*, Manzoor Illahi Tamimy1, Waqar Aslam2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.6, pp. 1233-1249, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.013086

Abstract Machine Learning (ML) has revolutionized intelligent systems that range from self-driving automobiles, search engines, business/market analysis, fraud detection, network intrusion investigation, and medical diagnosis. Classification lies at the core of Machine Learning and Multi-label Classification (MLC) is the closest to real-life problems related to heuristics. It is a type of classification problem where multiple labels or classes can be assigned to more than one instance simultaneously. The level of complexity in MLC is increased by factors such as data imbalance, high dimensionality, label correlations, and noise. Conventional MLC techniques such as ensembles-based approaches, Multi-label Stacking, Random k-label sets, and Hierarchy… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.35, No.6, pp. 495-512, 2020, DOI:10.32604/csse.2020.35.495

Abstract This paper conducts a comprehensive review of various word and sentence semantic similarity techniques proposed in the literature. Corpus-based, Knowledge-based, and Feature-based are categorized under word semantic similarity techniques. String and set-based, Word Order-based Similarity, POSbased, Syntactic dependency-based are categorized as sentence semantic similarity techniques. Using these techniques, we propose a model for computing the overall accuracy of the twitter dataset. The proposed model has been tested on the following four measures: Atish’s measure, Li’s measure, Mihalcea’s measure with path similarity, and Mihalcea’s measure with Wu and Palmer’s (WuP) similarity. Finally, we evaluate the proposed method on three real-world twitter… More >

    Dunhong Yao1, 2, 3, Shijun Li4, *, Ang Li5, Yu Chen6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.3, pp. 1959-1975, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010186

Abstract There is no reasonable scientific basis for selecting the excellent teachers of the school’s courses. To solve the practical problem, we firstly give a series of normalization models for defining the key attributes of teachers’ professional foundation, course difficulty coefficient, and comprehensive evaluation of teaching. Then, we define a partial weight function to calculate the key attributes, and obtain the partial recommendation values. Next, we construct a highly sparse Teaching Recommendation Factorization Machines (TRFMs) model, which takes the 5-tuples relation including teacher, course, teachers’ professional foundation, course difficulty, teaching evaluation as the feature vector, and take partial recommendation value as… More >
