    Jing Yu1, Jie Ren2, Guangming Shen3, Weixiang Sun2, Hui Wang4,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.9, pp. 2385-2398, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.027877

Abstract In this paper, the influence of NaCl freeze-thaw (F-T) cycles and dry-wet (D-W) alternations on the flexural, compressive and bonding strengths of alkali-activated fly ash (FA) and a blast furnace slag powder (BFS) is investigated. The considered NaCl concentration is 3%. The effect of polypropylene fibers on the mechanical strengths is also examined. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetry (TG) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) are selected to discern the mechanisms underpinning the NaCl-induced erosion. The obtained results indicate that the best results in terms of material resistance are obtained with admixtures containing 60% BFS and 40% FA in terms of mass… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, pp. 1-9, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.11

Abstract Based on the Viscous Kelvin-Helmholtz theory used by D. Barnea & Y. Taitel (1993), a two-fluid stratified flow model of gas-liquid two-phase flow is established. Using the mathematical derivation, the influence of various influence factors on the stability of liquid level structure is synthesized. Compared with the criteria of D Barnea & Y. Taitel (1993) and Taitel & Dukler(1976) , and the algorithm of flow pattern transition criterion of stratified flow is proposed. According to the data of multiphase flow experimental loop, the influence of liquid viscosity and the instantaneous volume flow rate change of gas-liquid two-phase on the transition… More >

    Yu-Liang Zhanga , Liang-Huai Tongb, Jun-Jian Xiaoa,† , Kai-Yuan Zhangc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-6, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.38

Abstract Nozzle flowmeter has simple structure and wide application. In order to study the influence of temperature change on the inner wall of nozzle flowmeter on the thermal effect of flowmeter, the thermal effect of nozzle flowmeter was numerically simulated at five different inner wall temperatures in this paper. It is found that with the increase of the inner wall temperature, obvious stress concentration occurs in the upstream and downstream pressure inlets and the inlet and outlet areas of the flowmeter, and the thermal stress increases with the increase of the wall temperature. There are large thermal deformation areas in the… More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.6, pp. 2925-2940, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.025558

Abstract Recent years have witnessed an increase in the quantity of waste glass (WG) across the globe. Replacing the fine aggregate with WG is one of the steps toward preserving the natural resources of the environment and creating low-cost concrete. The present study is concerned with replacing fine aggregates with glass powder (GP) at (0%, 15%, 30%, and 50%). It has studied the fresh and hardened properties (compressive strength, tensile strength, hardened density, and slump) for all the mentioned percent replacements. The findings have shown that all mixtures containing GP gave acceptable slump results within the design limits (2–5 cm) according… More >

    Panpan Cao1,2, Xiulin Huang1,3,*, Shenxu Bao4, Jin Yang5,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.8, pp. 2041-2051, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.027399

Abstract Using ethylene glycol monovinyl polyoxyethylene ether, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS) and acrylic acid as the main synthetic monomers, a high robustness polycarboxylate superplasticizer was prepared. The effects of initial temperature, ratio of acid to ether, amount of chain transfer agent, and synthesis process on the properties of the superplasticizer were studied. The molecular structure was characterized by GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography) and IR (Infrared Spectrometer). As shown by the results, when the initial reaction temperature is 15°C, the ratio of acid to ether is 3.4:1 and the acrylic acid pre-neutralization is 15%, The AMPS substitution is 10%, the amount of… More > Graphic Abstract

Influence of Wellbore Trajectory on Pressure Drop and Fluid Discharge

    Ruidong Wu1, Guowei Wang2,3,4,*, Zhixing Yang1, Ruiquan Liao2,3,4, Yang Cheng2,3,4

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.8, pp. 2053-2066, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.026301

Abstract An experimental analysis has been conducted to study the process of fluid accumulation for different borehole trajectories. More specifically, five heel angles have been experimentally realized to simulate the borehole trajectory of the sloping section of the formation. The fluid-carrying capacity, pressure drop and fluid discharge volatility have been investigated for these conditions and, accordingly, the relationship between heel angle and wellbore pressure drop fluid-carrying capacity has been determined. The results show that while the reasonable roll angle can increase the pressure loss in the wellbore, it is beneficial to drainage. In terms of pressure loss and liquid-carrying capacity, when… More > Graphic Abstract

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.2, pp. 3111-3131, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.036159

Abstract Influence maximization of temporal social networks (IMT) is a problem that aims to find the most influential set of nodes in the temporal network so that their information can be the most widely spread. To solve the IMT problem, we propose an influence maximization algorithm based on an improved K-shell method, namely improved K-shell in temporal social networks (KT). The algorithm takes into account the global and local structures of temporal social networks. First, to obtain the kernel value Ks of each node, in the global scope, it layers the network according to the temporal characteristic of nodes by improving… More >

    M’Barka Mourabit1,*, Meryam Meknassi2, Soukaina Fekkar1, Soumia Mordane1, Hicham Rouijaa3, El Alami Semma4

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.7, pp. 1753-1774, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.025739

    Abstract

The effect of the tilt angle on mixed convection and related heat transfer in a “T” shaped double enclosure with four heated obstacles on the bottom surface is numerically investigated. The considered obstacles are constantly kept at a relatively high (fixed) temperature, while the cavity’s upper wall is cooled. The finite volume approach is used to solve the mass, momentum, and energy equations with the SIMPLEC algorithm being exploited to deal with the pressure-velocity coupling. Emphasis is put on the influence of the tilt angle on the solution symmetry, flow structure, and heat exchange through the walls. The following parameters… More > Graphic Abstract

    Oncology Research, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 63-70, 2023, DOI:10.32604/or.2022.028168

Abstract Circular RNA (circRNA), as a newly discovered non-coding RNA with important regulatory potential, is closely related to the occurrence and progression of various tumors. This study aimed to investigate has_circ_0000069 expression in breast cancer and its influence on cellular activities. Using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction, has_circ_0000069 levels were measured in 137 pairs of tissue specimens, as well as cancer cell lines. The cellular activities of cell lines were determined by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) and Transwell assays. The potential targeting miRNAs were predicted and verified using an online database and dual-luciferase reporter assay. Has_circ_0000069 was highly expressed in breast… More >
