    Abstract This study focuses on the dynamics of drug concentration in the blood. In general, the concentration level of a drug in the blood is evaluated by the mean of an ordinary and first-order differential equation. More precisely, it is solved through an initial value problem. We proposed a new modeling technique for studying drug concentration in blood dynamics.     Abstract The effects of dielectric barrier discharge plasma treatment on zein fi lm containing thymol as an active ingredient were evaluated. The plasma discharge was optically characterized to identify the reactive species. A signifi cant increase in the fi lm roughness (p < 0.05) was observed due to the etching effect of DBD plasma, which was correlated with the increase in the diffusion rate of thymol in the food simulant.     Abstract The demineralization kinetics of deproteinized lobster shells using CO2 were studied. Demineralization reaction proceeds until the concentration of Ca+2 in solution reaches an equilibrium value. The introduction of a cation exchange resin (cationite), in an open system for CO2 , allows replacement of the solution Ca2+ ions by Na+ ions, whereby the equilibrium shifts and an effective dissolution of the exoskeletons’ calcite is achieved.
