Investigation of Pore-Scale THMC Acid Fracturing Process Considering Heat Conduction Anisotropy

    Kaituo Jiao1, Dongxu Han2,*, Bo Yu2

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.4, pp. 1-5, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09168

Abstract Acid fracturing is critical to improving the connectivity inside underground reservoirs, which involves a complex thermal-hydro-mechanical-chemical (THMC) coupling process, especially deep underground. Heat conduction anisotropy is one of the intrinsic properties of rock. It determines the heat response distribution inside the rock and alters the temperature evolution on the reactive surface of fractures and pores. In another way, the rock dissolution rate is closely related to the reactive surface temperature. Predictably, heat conduction anisotropy leads to different rock dissolution morphologies from that of the heat conduction isotropy situation, then the cracks distribution and permeability of rock would also be significantly… More >

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.25, No.12, pp. 1265-1285, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2023.043430

Abstract Empathy is a complex emotional phenomenon that plays a crucial role in promoting cooperation and social cohesion within human society. However, there is ongoing debate regarding the mechanisms that underlie the generation of empathy. While the importance of biological emotional resonance in empathy is widely recognized, the influence of cognitive regulation on empathetic responses cannot be disregarded. This article seeks to review the agents and strategies involved in regulating empathy to construct a dynamic model depicting the process. The model highlights that the impact of specific goals on empathy regulation is not definitive; rather, it depends on an individual’s interpretation… More >

    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.2, pp. 373-391, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2023.031404

Abstract The impact of different iron metabolism processes (DIMP) on ovarian cancer remains unclear. In this study, we employed various gene chips and databases to investigate the role of DIMP in the initiation and development of ovarian cancer. cBioPortal was used to determine mutations in DIMP-associated genes in ovarian cancer. Kaplan-Meier plotter was used to examine the influence of DIMP on the prognosis of ovarian cancer. By analyzing 1669 serous ovarian cancer cases, we identified a range of mutations in iron metabolism genes, notably in those coding for the transferrin receptor (19%), melanotransferrin (19%), and ceruloplasmin (10%) in the iron import… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 2899-2914, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.045136

Abstract Data fusion generates fused data by combining multiple sources, resulting in information that is more consistent, accurate, and useful than any individual source and more reliable and consistent than the raw original data, which are often imperfect, inconsistent, complex, and uncertain. Traditional data fusion methods like probabilistic fusion, set-based fusion, and evidential belief reasoning fusion methods are computationally complex and require accurate classification and proper handling of raw data. Data fusion is the process of integrating multiple data sources. Data filtering means examining a dataset to exclude, rearrange, or apportion data according to the criteria. Different sensors generate a large… More >

Functional Pattern-Related Anomaly Detection Approach Collaborating Binary Segmentation with Finite State Machine

    Ming Wan1, Minglei Hao1, Jiawei Li1, Jiangyuan Yao2,*, Yan Song3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 3573-3592, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.044857

Abstract The process control-oriented threat, which can exploit OT (Operational Technology) vulnerabilities to forcibly insert abnormal control commands or status information, has become one of the most devastating cyber attacks in industrial automation control. To effectively detect this threat, this paper proposes one functional pattern-related anomaly detection approach, which skillfully collaborates the BinSeg (Binary Segmentation) algorithm with FSM (Finite State Machine) to identify anomalies between measuring data and control data. By detecting the change points of measuring data, the BinSeg algorithm is introduced to generate some initial sequence segments, which can be further classified and merged into different functional patterns due… More >

Abstract Object tracking, an important technology in the field of image processing and computer vision, is used to continuously track a specific object or person in an image. This technology may be effective in identifying the same person within one image, but it has limitations in handling multiple images owing to the difficulty in identifying whether the object appearing in other images is the same. When tracking the same object using two or more images, there must be a way to determine that objects existing in different images are the same object. Therefore, this paper attempts to determine the same object… More >

    Chunlei Ruan1,2,*, Cengceng Dong1, Kunfeng Liang3, Zhijun Liu1, Xinru Bao1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.3, pp. 3033-3049, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030607

Abstract Using Euler’s first-order explicit (EE) method and the peridynamic differential operator (PDDO) to discretize the time and internal crystal-size derivatives, respectively, the Euler’s first-order explicit method–peridynamic differential operator (EE–PDDO) was obtained for solving the one-dimensional population balance equation in crystallization. Four different conditions during crystallization were studied: size-independent growth, size-dependent growth in a batch process, nucleation and size-independent growth, and nucleation and size-dependent growth in a continuous process. The high accuracy of the EE–PDDO method was confirmed by comparing it with the numerical results obtained using the second-order upwind and HR-van methods. The method is characterized by non-oscillation and high… More > Graphic Abstract
