    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.1, pp. 1-17, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2023.044774

Abstract Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is one of the most frequent cancers worldwide. The main risk factors are consumption of tobacco products and alcohol, as well as infection with human papilloma virus. Approved therapeutic options comprise surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy through epidermal growth factor receptor inhibition, and immunotherapy, but outcome has remained unsatisfactory due to recurrence rates of ~50% and the frequent occurrence of second primaries. The availability of the human genome sequence at the beginning of the millennium heralded the omics era, in which rapid technological progress has advanced our knowledge of the molecular biology of… More >

    Yongxin Liu1, Puyu Zhao2, Jianxin Xu2, Xiaokai Meng1, Hong Yang1, Bo He2,*

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.17, No.6, pp. 521-539, 2023, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2023.029850

Abstract Numerical simulation of the spatial wind field plays a very important role in the study of wind-induced response law of transmission tower structures. A reasonable construction of a numerical simulation method of the wind field is conducive to the study of wind-induced response law under the action of an actual wind field. Currently, many research studies rely on simulating spatial wind fields as Gaussian wind, often overlooking the basic non-Gaussian characteristics. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the historical development and current state of spatial wind field simulations, along with a detailed introduction to standard simulation methods.… More > Graphic Abstract

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1323-1340, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.031093

Abstract Recent advances in deep neural networks have shed new light on physics, engineering, and scientific computing. Reconciling the data-centered viewpoint with physical simulation is one of the research hotspots. The physics-informed neural network (PINN) is currently the most general framework, which is more popular due to the convenience of constructing NNs and excellent generalization ability. The automatic differentiation (AD)-based PINN model is suitable for the homogeneous scientific problem; however, it is unclear how AD can enforce flux continuity across boundaries between cells of different properties where spatial heterogeneity is represented by grid cells with different physical properties. Xiaorui Zhang1,2,3,*, Qijian Xie1, Wei Sun3,4, Yongjun Ren1,2,3, Mithun Mukherjee5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.1, pp. 47-61, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042561

Abstract Fall behavior is closely related to high mortality in the elderly, so fall detection becomes an important and urgent research area. However, the existing fall detection methods are difficult to be applied in daily life due to a large amount of calculation and poor detection accuracy. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a dense spatial-temporal graph convolutional network based on lightweight OpenPose. Lightweight OpenPose uses MobileNet as a feature extraction network, and the prediction layer uses bottleneck-asymmetric structure, thus reducing the amount of the network. The bottleneck-asymmetrical structure compresses the number of input channels of feature maps by… More >

    Deng Lu1, Xujun Lang1, Bo Yang1, Ziyang Li1, Hang Geng2,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.10, pp. 2287-2306, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.029140

Abstract The four-circuit parallel line on the same tower effectively solves the problems faced by the line reconstruction and construction under the condition of the increasing shortage of transmission corridors. Optimizing the conductor and phase sequence arrangement of multiple transmission lines is conducive to improving electromagnetic and electrostatic coupling caused by electromagnetic problems. This paper uses the ATP-EMTP simulation software to build a 500 kV multi-circuit transmission line on the same tower. It stimulates the induced voltage and current values of different line lengths, tower spacing, vertical and horizontal spacing between different circuits, phase sequence arrangement, and nominal tower height. Moreover,… More >

Multi-Material Topology Optimization for Spatial-Varying Porous Structures

    Chengwan Zhang1, Kai Long1,*, Zhuo Chen1,2, Xiaoyu Yang1, Feiyu Lu1, Jinhua Zhang3, Zunyi Duan4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.1, pp. 369-390, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029876

Abstract This paper aims to propose a topology optimization method on generating porous structures comprising multiple materials. The mathematical optimization formulation is established under the constraints of individual volume fraction of constituent phase or total mass, as well as the local volume fraction of all phases. The original optimization problem with numerous constraints is converted into a box-constrained optimization problem by incorporating all constraints to the augmented Lagrangian function, avoiding the parameter dependence in the conventional aggregation process. Furthermore, the local volume percentage can be precisely satisfied. The effects including the global mass bound, the influence radius and local volume percentage… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.1, pp. 133-150, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.039518

Abstract To prevent irreversible damage to one’s eyesight, ocular diseases (ODs) need to be recognized and treated immediately. Color fundus imaging (CFI) is a screening technology that is both effective and economical. According to CFIs, the early stages of the disease are characterized by a paucity of observable symptoms, which necessitates the prompt creation of automated and robust diagnostic algorithms. The traditional research focuses on image-level diagnostics that attend to the left and right eyes in isolation without making use of pertinent correlation data between the two sets of eyes. In addition, they usually only target one or a few different… More >

MVCE-Net: Multi-View Region Feature and Caption Enhancement Co-Attention Network for Visual Question Answering

    Feng Yan1, Wushouer Silamu2, Yanbing Li1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.1, pp. 65-80, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.038177

Abstract Visual question answering (VQA) requires a deep understanding of images and their corresponding textual questions to answer questions about images more accurately. However, existing models tend to ignore the implicit knowledge in the images and focus only on the visual information in the images, which limits the understanding depth of the image content. The images contain more than just visual objects, some images contain textual information about the scene, and slightly more complex images contain relationships between individual visual objects. Firstly, this paper proposes a model using image description for feature enhancement. This model encodes images and their descriptions separately… More >
