Summary

The main objective of this special issue is to promote the application of Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in the renewable Energy systems. The use of AI in the renewable energy sector is now reaching all emerging markets because of its advantages. The main focus of this special issue is the application of various artificial intelligence Techniques like ANN, Fuzzy Logic Control, Genetic Algorithm, PSO, Machine Learning and other optimization techniques for renewable energy applications. The topics for this special issue include, but are not limited to the following: 

· AI in remote monitoring of Solar PV systems and online fault diagnosis

· AI-based Optimization techniques for renewable energy applications

· AI application in Wind Power Generation and hybrid Technologies

· AI-based Smart meters for renewable systems and smart grids

· AI application in Electric Vehicles/Hybrid electric Vehicles with Renewable energy sources

· AI application in the Integration of renewables in to the Smart grid Technologies

· AI in forecasting and energy management system for Renewable Energy System

· AI-based battery management system for Energy storage

· AI application in Vehicle to vehicle communication

· AI in optimal PV array configuration

· Modelling of Solar PV system/Wind power system/Hybrid system with AI techniques

· Enabling technologies for AI application in renewable energy systems

· AI enabled Big data processing for real world renewable applications
