Summary

Sustainable mental health promotion increasingly calls for preventive, person-centered strategies. Across the life course, from adolescence to older age, long-term mental well-being and resilience against stress, depression, and anxiety are shaped by modifiable pathways such as diet, lifestyle, and digital tools.

To address this complexity, this Special Issue explores diverse pathways to mental health promotion across different developmental stages. We welcome both single-discipline studies focusing on specific dimensions, such as nutritional and dietary strategies, psychological and behavioral interventions, artificial intelligence and digital health technologies, or lifestyle-based approaches, as well as interdisciplinary and multimodal frameworks that integrate these perspectives. Bringing these varied insights together creates opportunities for holistic prevention that is closely aligned with the realities of everyday life.

This Special Issue brings together multifaceted evidence on preventive approaches to mental health promotion across the life course, with a unifying focus on prevention, well-being, and mental health improvement for adolescents, adults, and older adult populations. We welcome original research, intervention studies, population- and survey-based analyses, and systematic reviews and meta-analyses that advance evidence-based and personalized strategies for promoting mental well-being.

The topics for this special issue include (but are not limited to):
· Multidisciplinary and multimodal interventions for mental health promotion in adolescents, adults, and older adults
· Nutritional and dietary strategies for mood, stress, and psychological well-being
