    Taihong Liu1, Dingchen Wu2,*, Fei Xu3, Panpan Song2, Mingshan Wei2, Jian Wu1, Xiaochun Bai1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.3, pp. 535-548, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.014326

Abstract In view of the Three North areas existing wind power absorption and environment pollution problems, the previous scholars have improved the wind abandon problem by adding electrothermal coupling equipment or optimizing power grid operation. In this paper, an electrothermal integrated energy system including heat pump and thermal storage units was proposed. The scheduling model was based on the load data and the output characteristics of power units, each power unit capacity was programmed without constraints, and the proposed scheduling model was compared with the traditional combined heat and power scheduling model. Results showed that the investment and pollutant discharge of… More >

    Xiuyu Yang1,*, Qi Guo1, Jianzhong Gui2, Renyong Chai3, Xueyuan Liu1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 1081-1097, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016375

Abstract Centralized delivery has become the main operation mode under the scaled development of wind power. Transmission channels are usually the guarantee of out-delivered wind power for large-scale wind base. The configuration of transmission capacity, which has the features of low utilization and poor economy, is hardly matching correctly due to the volatility and low energy density of wind. The usage of energy storage can mitigate wind power fluctuations and reduce the requirement of out-delivery transmission capacity, but facing the issue of energy storage cost recovery. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the allocation of energy storage while considering the problem… More >

Abstract With every passing day, the demand for data traffic is increasing, and this urges the research community not only to look for an alternating spectrum for communication but also urges radio frequency planners to use the existing spectrum efficiently. Cell sizes are shrinking with every upcoming communication generation, which makes base station placement planning even more complex and cumbersome. In order to make the next-generation cost-effective, it is important to design a network in such a way that it utilizes the minimum number of base stations while ensuring seamless coverage and quality of service. This paper aims at the development… More >

    Xiang Cao1,2,*, Ling Chen1, Liqiang Guo3, Wei Han4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 391-407, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.01002

Abstract As one of the classical problems in autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) research, path planning has obtained a lot of research results. Many studies have focused on planning an optimal path for AUVs. These optimal paths are sometimes too close to obstacles. In the real environment, it is difficult for AUVs to avoid obstacles according to such an optimal path. To solve the safety problem of AUV path planning in a dynamic uncertain environment, an algorithm combining a bio-inspired neural network and potential field is proposed. Based on the environmental information, the bio-inspired neural network plans the optimal path for the… More >

A Study of Unmanned Path Planning Based on a Double-Twin RBM-BP Deep Neural Network

    Xuan Chen1,*, Zhiping Wan1, Jiatong Wang2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.6, pp. 1531-1548, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.011723

Abstract Addressing the shortcomings of unmanned path planning, such as significant error and low precision, a path-planning algorithm based on the whale optimization algorithm (WOA)-optimized double-blinking restricted Boltzmann machine-back propagation (RBM-BP) deep neural network model is proposed. The model consists mainly of two twin RBMs and one BP neural network. One twin RBM is used for feature extraction of the unmanned path location, and the other RBM is used for the path similarity calculation. The model uses the WOA algorithm to optimize parameters, which reduces the number of training sessions, shortens the training time, and reduces the training errors of the… More >

    Dongli Wu1, Yunping Liu2,3,*, Ze Xu2,3, Weiyan Shang4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.5, pp. 1123-1138, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.012757

Abstract In view of the paucity of hydrometeorological data, inefficiency and high cost of manual detection, a design scheme of meteorological monitoring unmanned surface vehicle (USV) based on STM32 MCU (Microcontroller Unit, which is also known as Single Chip Microcomputer) is proposed in this paper. The path planning is designed by combining the image data acquired by camera with improved RRT-path algorithm (rapidly-exploring random tree algorithm based on auxiliary path), and then motors are controlled so as to realize autonomous cruise control of USV using the incremental PID algorithm. In addition, the design can also realize real-time monitoring of meteorological data… More >

Ontology-Supported Double-Level Model Construction for International Disaster Medical Relief Resource Forecasting

    Min Zhu1,2,3,#, Huiyu Jin1,#, Ruxue Chen1, Quanyi Huang2,3, Shaobo Zhong4, Guang Tian1,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.5, pp. 1097-1109, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.010140

Abstract In a disaster, mass casualties lead to a surge in demand for medical services. Some relief actions have been criticized for being ill-adapted to dominating medical needs. This research established a disaster medical relief planning model in 3 steps. 1. Establishing the two-level conceptual model. 2. Using the ontology method to describe the hierarchy and relating rules of the terms and concepts associated with the model. 3. Using an ontology-support casebased reasoning approach to build the case similarity matching process, which can provide a more efficient system for decision support. A case study validated the model and demonstrated its usage. More >

    Hanpeng Kou1, Tianlong Bu1, Leer Mao1, Yihong Jiao2,*, Chunming Liu2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.4, pp. 1027-1048, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.045358

    Abstract

In order to play a positive role of decentralised wind power on-grid for voltage stability improvement and loss reduction of distribution network, a multi-objective two-stage decentralised wind power planning method is proposed in the paper, which takes into account the network loss correction for the extreme cold region. Firstly, an electro-thermal model is introduced to reflect the effect of temperature on conductor resistance and to correct the results of active network loss calculation; secondly, a two-stage multi-objective two-stage decentralised wind power siting and capacity allocation and reactive voltage optimisation control model is constructed to take account of the network loss… More > Graphic Abstract

    Hui Sheng Lim1,*, Christopher K. H. Chin1, Shuhong Chai1, Neil Bose1,2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.125, No.1, pp. 33-50, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.011648

Abstract This paper presents an online AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) path planner that employs path replanning approach and the SDEQPSO (selective differential evolution-hybridized quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization) algorithm to optimize an AUV mission conducted in an unknown, dynamic and cluttered ocean environment. The proposed path replanner considered the effect of ocean currents in path optimization to generate a Pareto-optimal path that guides the AUV to its target within minimum time. The optimization was based on the onboard sensor data measured from the environment, which consists of a priori unknown dynamic obstacles and spatiotemporal currents. Different sensor arrangements for the forward-looking sonar… More >
